IF you like irreverential humour in an Edwardian/ Victorian set up.. you will end up crying with laughter.
There are many similar series (Blackadder-you HAVE to see this!-; Alo!Alo! ; Only Fools and Horses; Fawlty Towers; Dad's Army).. that mock the havits of the bygone eras in the British society.
Some SUPER DUPER BRIT comedies:
-The Favourite (2018) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5083738/
-A Fish Called Wanda
-In Bruges (seriously recommended..Collin Farrel and 'Tyrion Lannister' at their best)
-The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy
-World's End
-Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
-Snatch
-The Full Monty
-Monty Python (all of them!)
-Shaun of the Dead

Thanks for the list. Going to check out some of these. I loved Monty Python's Village Idiot sketch the best and another one about propaganda..somehow..though everyone else loves the Dead Parrot.
I second Lock, stock...a pre-fame Statham is there...Have seen Shaun and Fawlty Towers.

My picks from Bollywood are the old school comedies like Padosan, Golmaal (Old) and Khoobsoorat (Old). The comedy is spontaneous and not try-hard. Talking about comedies of recent times, IMO, Hera Pheri, Malamaal Weekly and Hungama are watchable primarily because of Paresh Rawal.

With regards to Hollywood movies, there are quite a lot but I think Trainwreck and O Brother, Where Art Thou are two of the most underrated Hollywood comedies.

However, my all time favorites are The Grand Budapest Hotel and Bridesmaids. Hangover too deserves an honorable mention.

Have watched all the BW movies.. None of the HW ones except Hangover. Thanks.. Bookmarking!

My God!
Is this actually supposed to be comic or is it unintentionally so? 😕

I LOOVVEED Kingsman! I was laughing aloud when my hubby just looked plain gobsmacked! 😆 It's the Brit style humor I guess. I also enjoyed Man from U. N. C. L. E.
And yes.. Have watched all the Bridget Jones. My fav is still the first one. Mark Darcy! Sigh!!!

Watch Dhamaal. It is really good comedy movie.

Another one is Golmaal- first part. It is best among the 4.
Old Hera Pheri- Vinod Khanna and AB
Padosan
Tere Ghar ke Saamne
Nayi Padosan- I like this one though all the actors were, they were good. I watched it long back.

Somebody recommended AK's Khatta Meetha- the new one. There is less comedy and more tragedy.

Noted Dhamaal. Is it too loud? Asking cause I have to be in a certain mood to watch loud comedies.

I think I watched the first Golmaal. Can't recall it much though. Have deffo watched Hera Pheri with AB and VK.
Tere Ghar ke Saamne is one of my fav go-to Hindi romcoms.
Will check out Nayi Padosan. Thanks!

I have watched it more times than I can remember. Such a satirical gem. Why don't they make movies like this anymore?
