Honesty I think light skin look more classy and only if you have high class features like Ileana can dark skin suit you and idk why but why does dark skin look splotchy?

- hum kaalein hai toh kya hua dil waale hain

or

- goron ki na kaloon ki, duniya hai dil waalon ki

or

- gore rang pe na itna guman kar...gora rang doh din mein dhal jaaye ga

BW is obsessed with fair skin. Most of the actresses are fair. And the ones who are not undergo skin whitening treatment.

It's not dark skin that is in itself splotchy, it's that our brown skin tans unevenly and thus it looks splotchy. Though that problem can be easily solved with a good foundation and color correcting makeup that's out there. I personally just have a problem when I tan and my foundation stops matching me, so I have to go dig for other foundation colors, which is such a huge chore. But I think dark skin can look just as good as white skin, I find Bipasha and her skin color SO gorgeous! Then there's Konkona, Rani, Nandita Das, etc. They are all beautiful looking ladies. So it's a faulty reasoning that white skin color automatically makes you look better.

Plus,I also find Parul Chauhan from that TV show Bidaai who is really dusky SO beautiful. Personally, I find it pitiful that we as a society do not celebrate these dark skinned beauties, in comparison we put the white ones on a automatic pedestal.

It's all in the mind. Goron ki na kaalon kiii duniya hai dilwalon ki...
But there is that colonial and slavery mindset I would say. No matter how much people deny but most people do think like that.

Dark splotchy skin or grey skin on screen is not attractive neither is pale or yellow albino like skin.

The color of skin is immaterial or else so many dark skinned would not have been successful/popular. But it's important to have a clean heart.

Indians are obsessed with white skin, probably because of colonial mindset

Nope. The darker ur skin, the healthier u are. Fair skin is more prone to a lot of cancers. Darker skin protects u from a lot of diseases
