It was a wedding pandal and two people were restraining vikrant, he was trying to get free. In front of him was Aditi all decked up in bridal attrire taking saath phera's, as the groom turned towards him, he realized the groom didn't have a face. He yelled Aditi's name,
"Aditi!!"
Vikrant looked around, he was in his bed, sweating. It was a nightmare. Vikrant looked at his alarm clock it was 7 am in the morning. Suddenly he heard a knock on his door,
"Vikrant, beta thik to Hai na tu?"
Vikrant opened the door to find it was his mother,
"Haan maa, kuchh nahi bas ek sapna Tha."
"Accha? Kehte Hai subah ke sapne sach hote Hai", and she left, leaving vikrant standing there.
Vikrant decided to leave early for work that morning. When he reached Shaitan chauki, he found Aditi was already there, working in the evidence room. Vikrant thought,
"Beta abhi sahi waqt Hai, ab nahi bola to kabhi nahi bol paega."
As he was walking towards the evidence room, Aditi's phone rang which was on her desk. Vikrant looked at the caller ID: "Raj". Before he could stop himself he picked up the phone,
"Hello?"
"Uh.. hello? Adu ko phone Dena jara. Mujhe usse urgent baat karni Hai." Vikrant heard a thick voice on the other side of the call, it seemed like the man was at least 50-55 years old.
Hearing him refer to Aditi as adu made vikrant furious,
"Nahi wo abhi nahi aa sakti. Dobara phone mat karna." Vikrant replied curtly and cut the call.
At the same time Aditi came out,
"Vikrant, good morning! Kisise baatein Kar rahe the Kya tum? Meine awaz suni."
"Nahi kuchh nahi." Vikrant lied. But immediately continued,
"Vaise batao na, Kal dinner kaisa Tha? Wo raj kahi koi 60 saal ka Buddha to nahi Hai?".
Aditi gave him a weird look, she sat at her desk and continued,
"Kya ajeeb si baatein Kar rahe ho? Wo to bohot accha Hai, funny bhi Hai. Tumhare tarah sadu nahi Hai. Bohot enjoy Kiya meine Kal." Aditi wasn't looking at vikrant when she said this, otherwise she would have seen smoke coming out of his ears.
Vikrant left the room, he could not bear it. He took out his phone,
"Hello Joshi. Ek naam de raha hu, mujhe iski Puri kundali chahiye."
Vikrant cut the call and went inside, Aditi was standing near her desk holding her phone and was staring at him,
"Vikrant? Tumne raaj ko aisa kyu kaha ki dobara phone mat karna? Mujhe abhi abhi uska message Aya Tha. Meine bola tha na tumhe Mei sambhal lungi. To fir tumne aisa kyu Kiya? Bolo vikrant!"
Vikrant took a deep breath,
"Hum dono jante Hai aditi ke meine aisa kyu Kiya."
"Nahi vikrant, Mei nahi janti." Aditi was confused by vikrants behavior.
Vikrant put his phone in his pocket and stepped closer to Aditi, he plucked her phone out of her hands and took her hands in his,
"Aditi, mujhe lagta Hai Mei pagal ho raha hu.." he looked deep into her brown orbs.
"K..Kya Matlab Hai tumhara?" Aditi was caught off guard by the depths of his eyes. They were fully dilated.
"Aditi.. aaj subah meine ek bohot bura sapna dekha.. tum.. tum please us Raj se mat Milo na." Vikrant said with a sense of urgency.
"Kyu?" Aditi questioned, for some reason her eyes were brimmed with tears.
"Mei nahi samjha sakta aditi, kyuki mujhe khud samajh me nahi aa raha yahan Kya ho raha Hai. Meine ek baar tumhe kho Diya Tha aditi, Mei firse nahi kho sakta tumhe." He left her hands and ran a hand through his hair frantically.
"Kyu vikrant?" Aditi persisted, and vikrant was getting annoyed now.
Vikrant moved forward suddenly and held her face in his hands,
"Because I love you Aditi." He almost yelled. He was again looking into her watery eyes. He didn't see any rejection, all the got was a complete reflection of his own feelings.
Aditi knew it, she loved vikrant too. That is why it had felt so wrong yesterday when she was with Raj. Although she had a good time, she knew he wasn't the one. Vikrant was the one who completed her, the right one.
Suddenly Aditi closed the distance between them with a kiss. Vikrant was surprised for a second but reciprocated with the same fervor. Her hands were now clutching his shirt tightly for support and his had found her tiny waist. The world was vanishing for them with every passing second. They broke apart when the need for oxygen surpassed their desire, but they were not ready to leave each other yet. Vikrant rested his forhead on Aditi's, they were gasping for air, but they were content. Their bodies had said everything they wanted to say. After a few moments they were brought to the real world with the sound of a camera shutter.
They broke apart but vikrants one hand was still protectively around Aditi. Adit looked up at the intruder,
"R.. Raj! Tum kab aye? Hum..Mera Matlab Hai.. Mei bas abhi tumhe call hi karnewali thi."
Vikrant looked up at the mention of the name "Raj". The said Raj was typing something on his phone, he looked up and met vikrants eyes. Vikrant could recognize that face anywhere. At the same moment he got a call from Joshi,
"Haan Joshi"
"..."
"Haan mere samne hi khada Hai abhi."
Aditi was really confused at this. Vikrant looked calm on the outside but it was like he was fuming on the inside. Raj on the other hand was giving her and vikrant a very nervous smile, his body language said he was about to start running any moment now.
Vikrant ended his call, took a deep breath and started chasing Raj around the chauki,
"Ruk saale, bada shauk Hai na tuje Raj banke ladkiyan patane ka? Abhi tumhe sabak sikhata hu."
"Maaf kardo bhaiyya! yeh pura maa ka plan Tha. Meine kuch nahi kiya, bhaiyya!! chhod do please." Raj pleaded as he ran towards aditi to save his life.
"Tu ruk ja vahin pe, abhi Teri sari hoshiyari bahar nikalta hu." Vikrant said while running after Raj.
"Bhabhi please bhaiyya ko samjhao na. Bhaiyya ko bol do na mujhe chhod de, nahi to shadi se pehli hi apka devar swargwasi ho jaega" Raj said as he tried to hide behind Aditi.
Aditi was unable to understand what was going on when vikrant pulled Raj by his ears and introduced him,
"Aditi ye Mera chhota Bhai Hai Viraj."
"Namaste bhabhi, sorry apko thodi taklif Hui lekin aapki saasu maa ka hukum Tha, aur unhe koi nahi taal sakta." Viraj replied and turned towards vikrant,
"Ab to chhod do na. Apko bhabhi mil gayi, maa ko bahu mil gayi aur meine bhabhi se maafi bhi mang li. Ab to Jane do."
Vikrant left his ear, and gave viraj a hug. He then came and stood next to Aditi, Who had connected all the dots now, she realized why Mrs. Singhal had introduced her to viraj in the first place and why she felt that he looked like vikrant. Of course they were brothers! Right now she was busy blushing furiously for being called "bhabhi". Suddenly she remembered hearing a camera shutter, she looked up and asked viraj about it,
"Aur wo camera ki awaz? Wo Kya Tha?"
"Wo maa ko proof chahiye Tha na. Aakhir ACP ki maa Jo thehri, aur apka itna accha moment Tha to Mei mauka hath se kaise Jane deta." Viraj supplied.
Vikrant and Aditi look at each other wide eyes. In Aditi's head she's calculating,
"Pehle wo us raat wali baat.. aur ab viraj ne unko photo bhej di, agar wo kiss..Sh*t!!" Aditi's chick's had become red as a tomato.
As if reading her mind vikrant asks viraj,
"Chhote apna phone to dikha jara." And viraj starts running for his life again.
