Hey there all the lovely people!!
Me is back with a mini Mid week OS ... bear the nonsense. As it's crazy and out of blue.
OS : Scar
Uma worked through the files, jotting down notes here and there, he glanced at the clock and sighed at another missed dinner. He got back to work when the subtle sweet aroma wafted through the window, he shook his head and concentrated back on work. Kanak walked in his office with his favorite halwa... he knew both his favorite were in the room but to get done with last few pages he kept his eyes averted from her...
"How was work today, I thought you would be working some new recipes tonight,he asked starting a conversation by acknowledging and questioning her presence in his office. "It was okay,
Couldn't think of anything innovative so went back to basic, and made your favorite halwa, see she replied back holding the bowl ahead of her... He looked up to her to smile and went back turning the papers "just a minute Kanak, a page or two, he asked for a time out. Kanak could never take a no for an answer, she walked over to his side, moved a few files and sat on the edge of his table, he couldn't ignore her anymore, she smiled at her tiny victory.
"You didn't have dinner, you cannot escape the halwa now, she threatened jokingly and raised the spoon towards him. His eyes still on the papers as he opened his mouth and ate the bite, she was about to withdraw her hand when he caught it softly and his attention turned towards her. The bright red blotch of red on her wrist held his attention, she tried pulling away but he didn't leave. "It's nothing, she said mentally scolding herself for being putting the burn injury in front of him. He pulled out an ointment kept handy in his drawer and applied it with feather touch, while Kanak tried to pull back her hand. "Do not fight it, there is nothing to be ashamed off, these scars ... he pointed to scars old and new that adorned her arms and hand, some minute some visible, some fading while others had disappeared... "... these scars are yours to carry with grace. I have seen the passion with which you lead the kitchen in your restaurant... these scars make you who you are, that you would be hurt, you would be in pain but the only way to move is forward, you would hunch for a moment to take a break, but that's to fuel you to go another mile... I don't want your pristine blemish free skin, I love you for who you are, with all your passion with all your scars... I apply this ointment not to erase the scars but to ease the pain
Tears rolled down her face, and emotions chocked her, for she never understood him, his silence on any new mark, she always thought he disapproved of them while he traced their outlines whenever they were together... but today he said it all, he expressed himself as he accepted her as she was, not a heroine with milky unblemished skin from the romance novels she had read. She hadn't accepted herself all this while, whereas Uma loved her with all her scars. His acceptance healed her to be herself.
Rocks and Chappals are always welcome 🤗
Thank you.
