Yes. And her superstardom started from that moment. Overshadow a superstar in his own movie, you are a superstar. That's the reason some of the chindi male A-listers with lots of insecurities don't let their bigger female costars (more popular than the chindis) shine, seduce their directors to chop off the female costar's role or make it insignificant, e.g. Tamasha.

Meenamma is defenitely the most memorable character. Still I won't say, CE belongs only to her.

But I agree with you on the double standards of people.

In CE, they call Sharukh secure.

In PV, they say Deepika got thenga.

DP was at her best in CE..I dont think she has given a better performance than that in her entire career sofar.

No Doubt Deepika just a awesome and took the movie to an another level, but it was SRK's acting which was the highlight and there is no chance he get overshadowed by DP.

Many here claims that they only remember DP's name(Meenamma) in the movie but her name in the movie was not Meenamma, it was MEENA. Only SRK was calling her Meenamma. That means, u all remember SRK's dialogues only. Hence Proved

Anyways its only stupid to compare them, they both looked fabulous and would never get bored watching that movie

No, she didnt. Deepika was fine in her acting, she got catchy lines and scenes. SRK was the main protagonist around whom the whole movie revolves. Even without Meena the movie would have worked. It was scripted and executed very well. If SRK could not perform well then the movie would have fallen flat on its face. Chennai Express was SRK movie directed very well by Rohit Shetty.
