In 2014, came a movie titled Bangalore Days
which was a coming of age romantic drama.
The movie which has become the younger
generations' go-to Malayalam film had a
star-studded cast comprising of Dulquer
Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim, Nivin Pauly, Fahadh
Faasil, Isha Talwar, Parvathy and Nithya
Menon.
In a tte--tte with Pinkvilla, while
promoting her Bollywood debut movie
Qarib Qarib Singlle, we asked Parvathy if she
would like to be a part of the Hindi remake
of Bangalore Days if it was made.
To this, Parvathy replied, "I wouldn't play it
because I already did the remake of that in
Tamil and I realised I should never do a
remake of a character I have done because I
was bored, very honestly."
When we quizzed her further on who would
she like to see from Bollywood play her
character, RJ Sarah, the actress revealed, "In
Bollywood as of now who can play Sarah
with the integrity that Anjali Menon (Director
of Bangalore Days) would have wanted, I
would say Alia Bhatt. It was already stuck... I
thought Alia and then I was like, 'Okay,
that's the first thing and now let me look for
others.' But no, I think it's simple. It's Alia."
Would you like to see Alia in the Hindi
remake of Bangalore Days? Let us know in
the comments below.
Meanwhile, when asked about the
difference between shooting for a regional
movie and a Bollywood film, Parvathy said,
"I've only done one Bollywood film so I don't
know with other directors, how it's going to
be. With Tanuja, the intention of filmmaking
was very pure. There was integrity in it and
that's what I liked is that, it never felt like it
was Bollywood. I mean, Bollywood is there,
the film industry is thriving and it's huge
and it's everywhere. Anytime, I travel abroad
and I say I'm an actor from India, they're
like, 'Oh, Bollywood!' And I say, 'Umm, not
yet!'(laughs) I would say that it's great to be
here. It's great to now understand what's
actually happening behind-the-scenes but
filmmaking at the end of the day, in front of
the camera, I have to do things exactly as
genuine as I do in any other regional
language. There's no discounting or there's
no adding."
Directed by Tanuja Chandra, Qarib Qarib
Singlle also stars Irrfan Khan and is slated to
release on November 10, 2017.
