It's about the original romeo and Juliet...

Romeo and Juliet are forever know for their selfless love that they decided not to live without each other...

Once I read some where about a question ...that... whose love is more powerful and divine...

Many had same answer that both are equal...both died for each other... together...

But among them one had a different answer...

He said ... even though both did sacrifice their life...died together...it's Juliet among them who out shines...

Everyone was shocked to hear so...why so...both are equal...both sacrificed their lives...

Then he said ... it's true that both sacrificed their lives...died together...also the love both of them had was eternal...

But...

The love Juliet had for him was above all...

He explained...

Romeo came to Juliet thinking that she is dead... with poison in his hand...had the poison and wished to go to deep sleep forever with his Juliet...

Juliet when she became conscious...saw romeo beside her dead... she also loved him like he did...

She too didn't wish to live the life and hence chose the path of death...

She took out romeos daggers and stabbed herself...killing her...

Here what we have to notice is that...she could have drank the remaining poison romeo left out..or could have chosen any other way by which she could have a peaceful death...but she didn't do that...instead chose his dagger which was always with him... to take her life...

A person that too a women needs immense courage and willpower and strength in love to do so...becoz she wished to choose a painful death rather than dying without knowing the pain...becoz for Juliet...pain of being separated from romeo was much higher than any other pain...

So... Romeo being a true lover chose death along with his love but juliet chose a painful death and that makes her stand a little above romeo...

There are many more examples like salim and anarkali too...anarkali too chose a painful death rather than being separated from salim...

That's the reason that women always outshines in every love stories...

This was an article which got much appreciation...

Umm sorry but that article is misleading. To sell a poison in those days ( or in the play) was illegal. When romeo by mistake thinks that Juliet is dead,he goes to apothecary to buy poison.
Here's what the apothecary replies,
Apothecary
Such mortal drugs I have; but Mantua's law
Is death to any he that utters them.
Clearly saying that he would get death penalty. But romeo convinces him to sell the poison in exchange to bring him out of his poverty. Juliet would have found it hard to buy poison for herself, so she keeps dagger.
When she sees dead romeo, she tries to drink poison from his bottle but finds it empty. So kisses him hoping their would be little poison left on his lips. Since She could hear people coming to cementry, decides to have a quick death.

"What's here? a cup, closed in my true love's hand?
Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end:
O churl! drunk all, and left no friendly drop
To help me after? I will kiss thy lips;
Haply some poison yet doth hang on them,
To make die with a restorative.

Kisses him

Thy lips are warm."
Yea, noise? then I'll be brief. O happy dagger!

Snatching ROMEO's dagger

This is thy sheath;

Stabs herself

there rust, and let me die.

Falls on ROMEO's body, and dies

You got it right dear. Both were just passionate about each other.Since they are star crossed lovers they have catapulted to such fame.Otherwise I feel Shakespeare 's other female characters are much more worthy of mention in cases of courageous love.Cheers to English literature . 😃
