still he gave a 100 crores grossing Raaes in January, which is generally a dry time.It did not got hit rag because it was sold at a very high price. Don't forget it is still HGOTY till now.
Its not like all those people 1.2 crore footfalls where overseas footfalls who came to India just to watch his movies.
See audience is still there, had Indians really ignored JHMS, opening 15 crores ki nahi hoti despite such an underwhelming trailers and songs.
Its Indian audience which made him the Badshah/King Khan, yes overseas audience ka love also played a great part, but ghar ka pyaar, ghar ka pyaar hota hai.
people still have faith on SRK, people still flock to see his movies, but agar movie hi entertaining na ho, toh usme audience ki kiya galti. Even you as a SRK fan did not liked the movie.
Also it is not about doing a patriotic movie or a bhakt movie, agar Bhakts movie hit ya flop karte toh Indu Sarkar superhit hoti, aur ADHM/Raaes/Hindi Medium super disasters. Baby was not a superhit, Niether Rustom nor Airlift made as much as either Dilwale or Raaes, so it is not Akki is suddenly a bigger star than SRK, or Indians have started loving Akki more than SRK. It is just that Akki is doing smart business by making controlled budget movies, while SRK's star power does ensure his movie open big(compared to other mortals), thier WOM is not enough to ensure huge hits given the budget. A movie like FAN(called niche by SRK himself), should have been a superhit going by its 85crore collection but was flop because if SRK knew it would cater only a certain segment of audience, he should have controlled the budget.
And I am not just talking about great content, but also entertainment quotient which makes mass flock. Film can be crap technically but if it is entertaining people will still watch it. SRK movies in long time have lacked the entertaining quotient for the massy audience. Even Raaes despite being a massy flick and a well made entertaining movie, still was not upto the level of dialogue baazi and comic relief a big blockbuster deserves.
So it is not SRK being rejected by Indians, opening of his movies show it, but it is his movies being rejected because they dont really have mass appeal/PAN India appeal nowadays.

I love SRK but JHMS was a bad movie, it's really stupid to say that it flopped because of propaganda, why not call spade a spade...
