Every filmmaker has a style.. All raju hirani movies are in one style.. Sujit has a diff style.. Slb has another.. They must be inspired by basu chatterjee, mehboob or raj kapoor or ritwik ghatak and Ray and so on.. But if u copy scene by scene its called plagiarism not inspiration.. Basu copies scene by scene.. Rakesh roshan copies scene by scene.. Those are not inspiration but chori

As someone said that its one thing to remake a whole movie or inspire from certain scene but its another thing to copy an iconic scene just the sane way and ruining the original for the fans.

Same thing happened with me, when i watched dilwake there was a chase scene if srk kajol which is a bad and shameless copy of a scene from missiom impossible 2.. Being a fan that very moment killed the entire film for me.

Basu was always a copy cat, he copied murder scene by scene. In gangster also he copied a lot from korean movies and in barfi it was heights when ppl praused him to skies but almost 80% of the movie had copied scenes that too from classics.

There is a difference between being inspired by something and blatantly copying something.

JJ was just a mish mash of copied scenes and overdose of CGI. It had no heart or soul unlike Barfi which tugged at ones heartstrings imo. Logic took a backseat most of the movie since it was inspired by comics. The narrative was too long and borderline boring due to it being a musical. Ranbir's acting was lethargic. Katrina's face was bloated, music was sub par.
