For me this was the highlight of the show that Devs Mom wanted her son to be her partner and not her shadow!! This says a lot about their relationship!! This created so much burden on Devs mind!!
Sonakahi very well knows this! Unless Devs Mom frees him of this burden, he will never be Sonakshis partner. This is so much in line with the scene between Sonakshi and Mamaji where she explains that someone else's Moon cannot be my Sun!

Yes. Somewhere before I had mentioned as his mother brought them up single handedly , she need a male figure for her support. And that is Deb. She needed a companion who will share her burden.
Thats why it's his mother to realize and free her son to lead a lovely life ahead

Oh I was creeped out by them a long time ago and this is why. Posting from my comment on my thread.

Precisely. Sounds uber creepy if you add in the factor of Dev lying on Ishwari's lap after marriage on Sona's bed and she is saying that we have managed this family together and we have to continue to do so in future as well while Sona looks at them awkwardly. I was creeped out then and I was creeped out now. 🤢

of course it sounds creepy. but thats what they showed... a really disgusting relationship where a mother peeking in grown married son's room, having thoughts looking at a night dress he bought for the wife and mother hiding it 😡 notto mention Dev in Ishwari's lap at night on their bed. and the whole orchesterated mating night by Ishwari... che che che
