I know there's going to be a lot of debate about today's episode. Many people feel that Atharv's words and anger were justified and some may feel that he went too far with his accusations. Whatever anyone's feelings are on the matter, the one thing that we can all agree on was that today, two hearts were shattered.
Before I write my review I'm going to address the characteristics of the two male leads in this show. We have Ravish the army man, who has been brought up in luxury and always had a loving family around him to support him. He controls all his emotions and maintains a balance between them. He rarely emotes and when he does have feelings, he is able to hide them. Maybe because of his profession, he has the ability to lie and hide things very well, and he is used to giving orders and being obeyed.
Then on the other hand we have Atharv Sujata. A flawed hero. Brought up in hardship by a single mother who taught him how to live with pain and hunger. He doesn't hide things, he hates lies, and will stand up against anything that's unjust especially towards woman. He loves with a passion and hates with a passion and wears his heart on his sleeves. He never hides his emotions and you always know exactly what he is feeling.
And today, we were in no doubt how Atharv Sujata felt at what he thought was the betrayal by the two women he loved the most, his mother and Vividha.
The one thing that Atharv has that Ravish can never have is Vividha's love and the fact that he has full rights on her. Vividha has given Atharv the right to get angry with her, to shower his love on her, be physically intimate with her and today Atharv used that right.
When Vividha saw Atharv walk out calmly from the party she instinctively ran after him, not caring who saw her. She needed him to know the truth from her because she knows him, she knew how he would react. And as Atharv calmly asks Vividha, if that was her sindoor on the table or whether there was a photo hanging before on the empty nail, Vividha could only nod yes, knowing that this was the clam before the storm. And all this time the anger within Atharv was growing because all he could do was think back to their 5th and 6th vachans where they had agreed not to lie to each other, and when Vivi had told him she could never move on.
But he was devastated because he felt Vividha had broken both promises and he lashed out. And some of the accusations were not easy to hear. Atharv knows Vividha more then anyone else and he knew that money and status mean nothing to her. He knew that bringing up Vividha and Ravish's bedroom and what went on inside was wrong, but his fury overtook him. He couldn't stop the hurtful words because he wanted her to hurt, like she hurt him.
And then within a few moments, he discovered that his mother had lied to him too. That she had taken shelter with the one family that he hated more then anything else. And as he told a distraught Sujata that although she had done what she did to keep him alive, she had effectively killed him.
Vividha and Atharv have a lot of things to sort out and talk through. Today, Atharv didn't give Vividha a chance but once he finds out why she got married and what she has been through this last three months, the guitl is going to kill him. I can't wait for that moment.
Today Vikram Chauhan reached such a high bar with his acting, that I have no words. He was absolutely brilliant and he made you feel each and every pain and hurt that he felt. Such a powerful performance matched by Shivani. Even when they are angry with each other, their chemistry takes your breath away. A wonderful episode!
