It's long article...so have patience
Dev, Dev and Dev - Our twitter is buzzing with questions regarding Dev. I have always been at awe regarding this specific thing about him. In other shows, the only one person on whom the viewers rely to set things right is the hero of the show. Probably, KRPKAB is the only show where the viewers are forever doubtful about their hero, they could never rely on him with their eyes closed and vouch on the fact that they are awaiting for their hero to come and set things right. In fact, he most of the times have made blunders but still, at midnight, all people are thinking is about Dev, his thoughts, his feelings, whether he has changed and whether this is the same Dev they had known.
I don't really know why Dev is appearing like a puzzle to all. And even if you consider him to be a puzzle, he is the easiest puzzle to solve. He is YOUR Dev, the one you have been watching, loving and adoring since February 2016. Don't be another Sonakshi, Ishwari or the Dixits saying we don't know this Dev. You know him better than them as he is just hiding behind a mask. Situations change a man's perspective but not habits. Being good is a habit of Dev and nothing can change that. Being bad is just a mask.
Dev Dixit is nothing but an overgrown child. His brain size is exactly that of his daughter. In fact, Soha is by far more intelligent than him. He might be 6 feet tall but he has a mind of a 6 years old. So, in order to understand him, think like a child. You will for sure get him. That's how I decode him to be honest. And children aren't complicated, they are just sometimes good in pretending. He is appearing to be that kind of child who would give you all the stupid and fake reasons to avoid doing homework.
Coming to the episode now. I will talk about four instances with regards to Dev
SCENE 1
Did you see that look on his face when he held the award in his car once he was alone? That smile, that content, that pride is something that only Dev can have while holding an award given to his wife, oops ex-wife! That expression gave away a lot of real' emotions of Dev. He was definitely 100% proud of her achievement.
His words Yeh award mujhe nahi mila, ek akdoo badtameez ladki ko mil raha tha, uske haath mein achcha nahi lag raha tha, isiliye main le aaya, sounded more as if he said them out of love and not hatred. There, in the whole week, for the first time you got a glimpse of the old Dev. As I said earlier, his real self will be out only when he would be left alone.
SCENE 2
Dev was truly enjoying the version of an irritated Sonakshi. His show off continued even inside the elevator where he kept humming a song standing beside Sonakshi and she kept pretending as if he wasn't present there.
It has become like a game for Dev and the sole aim of the game is to annoy Sonakshi as much as possible. Because the more he will annoy her, the more are the chances that she will not get any ideas about him still caring for her.
Basically, Dev Dixit doesn't want to show that he is happy about the fact that she won the award and to give her the wrong impression, he would do anything and say anything!
SCENE 3
That waiting outside the room was amusing. As Sonakshi kept trying to open her room, Dev watched her and when she was unable to open it after repeated attempts, he laughed.
Probably he remembered how rabbits (Khargosh) make faces and get annoyed when they aren't able to do something and that made him laugh.
Well, if you ask me, his laugh seemed to be as if suddenly he remembered the joke of how a rabbit lost a race to a tortoise!
SCENE 4
In his room, along with Shruti, he had very mixed feelings. The phrases, I like you','I love you', aren't anymore appealing to him. So when anyone talks about love' to him, it appears to him as hollow words. Possibly it is something that mocks him for he believes that the two people he loved the most never loved him back equally. So Dev's definition of love has changed a lot in these past 7 years.Hence, when she expressed her feelings to him, he couldn't revert back and at some points, her words tested his patience too.
Secondly, about his actions and reactions in the room. Well, its basic human psychology. When you remember only bad things about a person, you hate him. When you remember only good things about a person, you love him. But what should you do if you remember both? You are in a fix then and you don't know how to define your feelings to yourself only. Dev tonight remembered both version of the Sonakshi, the one who understood him, stood beside him and loved him. And the one who promised him that his love would never ever come back to him. And it made things all the more complicated.
And did you get surprised seeing the precap? Well, I am not. Since when did you start expecting Dev Dixit to drink heavily and not create a scene, especially when he is dwelling with complicated thoughts? He has done that before (spoiled Sona's date with Ritik, fell down on her engagement) and he is going to do it again on Monday!
And now that I have said enough about Dev, I will talk about Sonakshi a bit-
SCENE 1
Bijoy is worried for Sonakshi. So he calls up Guni and asks her whether Sona is fine. Guni reports that Sonakshi is absolutely fine and is playing with Soha. Although, Bijoy is a little surprised but he is relieved to hear that. He asks Guni to keep reporting him.
But is Sonakshi really fine? She is not affected at all? Well, she is affected. She was angry on Dev for snatching her award, she was angry on him when she saw him laughing at her but she was angrier on him as she saw him going inside the room with Shruti. She was shocked to see him like that initially and then if I am not wrong, Sonakshi Bose was fuming! But then she also has learnt the game of pretension in all these years. So much so that she can give good competition to Dev. So, yes, if he is showing he doesn't care, she won't ever show that she is affected.
SCENE 2
Many might think that getting Dev arrested was a bit too harsh of a decision for Sonakshi. But I feel, she just didn't do it because he tried to trespass but because of two reasons. One, Dev should not wake up Soha in the middle of the night with his antics. Two, presence of Shruti inside Dev's room is an overdose of a show off for Sonakshi.
A woman of her stature, can bear him taking her award but cannot bear seeing what Dev tried to show her in the name of his See, I have moved on' stunt. Proof is the scene where she kept standing outside her room for innumerable minutes staring at Dev's room. She was so engrossed in her thoughts, that even Guni's repeated calls didn't wake her up. Somehow I felt, Sonakshi didn't take that stunt of Dev very sportingly and she will be seen taking revenge for that on Monday. She will vent her anger by getting him arrested.
Either way, it's good in one way. Little Soha doesn't need to meet her father when he is so severely drunk and speaking badly with her mother.
P.S:- I will talk about Ishwari the least today. She is a lost case. But there's a good news. She has decided she won't speak anything in front of Dev. She fears about losing him. It's good for the time being. Because her one word, might just make way for some more unpleasant conversations between him and her. And about Mamaji. I don't know know why he cried. Did he cry for Ishwari or did he cry for Dev? In that house, everyone still is so busy with what and how Ishwari feels. If either of them cared even half of how they felt for her, then Dev would not have been leading an isolated life.
