Dangal girls,Manoj,Akshay snubbed by Filmfare,Akshay fans slam awards

The nominations of the 62nd Filmfare Awards are finally here and well, there are some stunning surprises in the nominations' list.

Most glaringly, Akshay Kumar, who starred in three Rs 100-crore films in 2016, including the critically acclaimed Airlift, has been snubbed by the jury from getting a nod for the Best Actor (Male) category.

Joining him is multiple National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee whose performance as gay professor Ramchandra Siras in Hansal Mehta's Aligarh was highly acclaimed.

Even Randeep Hooda who underwent a hazardous physical transformation to star in and as Sarbjit has been ignored by the Filmfare jury.

And in a bitter surprise, both the Dangal girls Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, who played Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumar respectively in Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal, have not received any nominations.

I did not watch Airlift but not nominating Randeep for the titular role Sarbjit for which he got huge critical acclaim,but nominating Aishwarya who hammed and screeched through her way, shows that these awards are nothing but 'invitation for the function' like someone said...They nominate only those who they think are TRP grabbers...👎🏼

Last year Akshay got snubbed for Baby but SRK got nominated for Dilwale.

And these days its nothing but a joke...I dont think its matter of concern for established heroes like Akki or Manoj any more but certainly an award nomination would be have meant a great deal for relatively newcomer or establishing actresses like Fatima or Zaira or Tapasee or a person new to film medium like Sakshi..
