A meet and greet as part of a concert is something totally different. I would probably do it backstage after an amazing concert.
But a "Meet-n-greet" on it's own, which is to promote a movie - which doesn't even have the film's stars in it - but the actor's wife - $500 for 1 question per table of 10 - that entire setup is ridiculous.
Like I said earlier, these types of film promotions are usually done for FREE.
Again, the BBC periodically hold "A Conversation With..." events. They had one with Amitabh Bachchan, and one with Madhuri Dixit - 2 of the biggest superstars on Hindi cinema. There was a Q&A section with the audience too. As well as photo-ops afterwards. All FREE of charge.
Back in 2002 the premiere of Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya was held not far from where I lived in North London. Karisma, Akshay and Abhishek all attended. They posed for photographs with fans. They answered questions. Imagine they had charged them to "meet and greet" - that would be tacky as hell. And anyone to pay for the "privilege" to MEET a celeb needs to check their head, unless of course it includes a full concert package.
I currently work part-time in a venue which hosts musical acts. The company recently added the option of "meet and greet" after the shows. EVERY performer absolutely hates this aspect. They grin and bare it. They do it simply for the money. The fans are so starry eyed, they don't care about paying an extra 50 for a selfie with their fav.
There's hundreds of memes of Britney Spears doing her meet n greets and you can see her cringing to death and barely putting on a smile. Same with Justin Bieber who recently said something along the lines of "I hate it" and has supposedly cancelled all future fan meet-n-greets.
