Both tried to destroy a marriage. Mastani was seducing Bajirao even knowing that he is a married person. She was a female and pretty so Bajirao extended his arms and accepted her in his Harem. Khilji was a male so he couldn't be accepted in a female's harem 😆. Why this gender biased 😆. I already know some people would try to reason that Rani was not involved in Khilji but so does Bajirao. Mastani literally imposed herself on Bajirao.

There's a marginal difference. Mastani loved and wanted to marry Bajirao in an era where polygamy was common and accepted. In fact, she was the daughter of 4th or 5th wife of the king of Bundelkhand..

Whereas Khilji lusted and coveted another man's wife. While Mastani wanted to share her life with Rao without taking him away from Kahi, Khilji had every intention of snatching Padmavati.

Rani padmini and Khilji are not real characters. It's a work of imagination...a poem to be specific. 😆
Mastani was badly sketched character. I don't think she was clingy and despo in reality. She was a princess for heaven's sake.
