Recap: Gauri gets a medical report where it is said that her daughter has leukemia. She asks the family to not tell Shiv.
Nikhila : baccha... itni badi baat tumne hum se chupayi... yeh hi buri baat hain... aur tum chahti ho ki hum shiv se bhi yeh baat chipaye?
Maya gives a smirk and tells that maine to Shiv ko already bula liya hain...
Shiv enteres and sees that Gauri is lying on the bed... in a semi-reclined position... For a moment, he forgets everything... everyone and has eyes only for her... his eyes seemed to be asking 'Are you ok?' While hers seemed to reflect some anxiety... seeing that in her eyes, he got all the more tensed. Why was she averting her eyes from him? Was she hiding something from him? If yes, why was she hiding whatever it was? and more importantly, What was she hiding from him??? all these questions seemed to run through Shiv's mind ... faintly he could hear Maya bua say something... something about a child... immediately he looked to Gauri for confirmation... and yes... he could read it in her eyes...
He goes and sits next to her on the bed and making an effort to induce a relaxedness in his speech, that he was far from feeling, he asks her... Gauri... Kya hua?? Sab teek to hain na?
Maya : Of course shiv.. sab teek hi ho hain Shiv... haan bas... itna pata chala hain ki Gauri ki ek dedh saal ki beti hain... baaki sab teek hain...
Shiv immediately gives a shocked look to Gauri... Nikhila : Haan beta yeh sacch hain shiv..
Shiv now looks into Gauri's eyes... her eyes are still not on him... she is looking at her hands... the hands that shiv has in his...
shiv takes her chin in one hand and raises it, so that she is now looking at him... Her eyes... her expressive eyes, her expressive kohl lined eyes that never could hide anything from him... no matter how much they tried.
Seeing the shimmering hurt in her eyes scare him to death... With a trembling voice, he asks again... 'Gauri... ab tum mujhe dara rahi ho... batao.. kya baat hain? sab... sab teek to hain na?'
Nikhila is surprised at seeing her normally brash son behave in such a loving caring manner towards a wife that he did not want in the first place.
And his words too... was that the normally dare-deviled Shiv who was telling Gauri that she was scaring him? and that too by remaining Silent? Did that hint at an intimacy that they normally hid from everybody??? Did that mean that in reality, Shiv and Gauri were much more closer to each other? If yes, why did they hide it from everybody? Almost similar questions seemed to run through Ipsita's mind too... and she voices it out too... She asks Shiv 'Shiv... tum to hamesha Gauri ko dante the rehte the... to phir aaj itna pyaar dikha rahe ho??? Aakhir baat kya hain? tum yeh jaan ke bhi react nahin kar rahe ho ki Gauri ki ek beti hain... baat kya hain?'
If his actions seem odd to her, his next words are enough to shock her... Shiv asks Gauri 'Garv... Garv teek to hain na?' She looks at him and nods... Shiv seems to be satisfied with whatever he has seen in her eyes...
but then, if not this what is she hiding...?? might it be... no it cannot... with a voice that soundly ghastly to himself he asks her... 'Shivani...' and pauses... unable to continue... Gauri... as soon as she hears the name raises her eyes brimming with tears...
