But update was good, a little tension free talk between them showing how their relationship is moving was essential part. And you show it very clearly. One side a Top one business man and another side a chief Security office, still they found time for each other .

Hello, again! This is a short update as already warned about. I think this chapter is like connecting dots between their personal and professional life. Khushi is at AR for a job and I can't lose focus from that. So for me, this chapter is important as well. But I made sure there was at least a little bit of 'Arnav' essence at the end. Have fun reading it.

CH 17

TUESday, 3:00pm

I video conferenced with Mark and Steven in the morning, and they were thrilled to know that we were no more under a pressure of litigation from the AR. They repeatedly told me to take care of Mr. Raizada, and give him every bit of my attention, even if I thought it was not needed. They were definitely disappointed about the termination of other contracts for the time being, and so I was requested to get in the company's good books again to get them back. Safer could not afford any negative publicity at this point in time. But what irritated me a lot was their resistance in forwarding me my other work from New York. Both of them were of the opinion that I needed to focus only on AR, and let everything else be taken care by others. I had to convince them otherwise but today was not the time, so I decided to speak to them about this later. We planned on a follow-up by the end of the week or early next week, since I had to send them the contract, and the remuneration was to be decided between AR and Safer. So, it was a fruitful call with my bosses.

After lunch, I met up with Natalie and Andrew. We had to order some new equipment for surveillance, so we filed a report on that with AR, including all the necessary changes. Also, both their guns had to be registered with the building security. Mine was already registered. We finished with that. I told them about my living arrangements, and if they were surprised with it, neither showed it. Good for me since I did not want to answer them. I still had to make sure Arnav and I were on the same page about at least letting these two know about the recent threat letter that he had received. And even though I was of the opinion that they should be knowing about it, I decided to wait till I spoke to Arnav and confirmed it with him. If things were happening under normal circumstances, Andrew would have been like Arnav's chauffeur, as well as his bodyguard anywhere and everywhere outside of the work building. Natalie would monitor who he met, where he had to go, manage pre-security details before he went or traveled anywhere, and coordinate with the local authorities regarding the investigation. I would be in New York and following up with them every couple of days. However, nothing about this whole situation was normal. And at times like these, I realized how changed my life had become literally over a weekend. I wasn't sad but just unprepared I guess. I needed time and I was certain things would fall into place eventually. Anyway, I dismissed both- Andy and Nat early since there was not much to do at this point of time.

I decided to leave for Arnav's place to see what we could have for dinner. I was contemplating on either ordering from outside, or cooking myself. But since I had been eating food from outside for a few days now, I decided to cook. Hopefully, his kitchen would be well stocked, else I'd have to go grocery shopping. I made sure to text Arnav before I left.

Am leaving from AR, but will be back to pick you. Do NOT leave for home before I am here. See you soon baby'.

I was giggling by the time I am done typing the text message, imagining his reaction from the morning. I did not remember when was the last time I had giggled or blushed so much in such a short period of time. It was probably the boyfriend' effect that romance novels described in mushy details.

His reply was almost instantaneous-

'Can't wait to be back home with you baby. Waiting for the dinner date, with that yummy repeat of the morning kiss as the dessert. But this time, I am better prepared to return the favor and make it longer, wetter and dirtier. Be prepared, my gorgeous NewYorker.'
