Today the equilibrium kept shifting for me throughout the episode - who did I feel worse for?
Atharv was waiting at the mandir for Vividha, his business dreams had been fulfilled and he was on cloud nine. All that would complete his day would be Vividha turning up to the mandir and getting engaged to him. He didn't hear the concern in her voice when she called, the fear she was experiencing, albeit because of the dhol blocking all of that out. To him, she was coming to the mandir to get engaged to him just because he believed her heart would lead her to him like it did before. As I have stated before, although he emphasised it's her choice he didn't once directly say that to her. For a woman who doesn't even fully understand her feelings yet, what reason would she have to get engaged to this guy that made a bet with her father that he would marry her?!

And setting all that aside for a second, Vividha is worried to death about her vulnerable sister who is God knows where right now. She even defended Atharv in front of Kailash when he flipped at her, saying his judgement was right. It was a massive deal for her to openly disagree with her father in this way! Of course he holds the power in the family so he can forbid her from mentioning Atharv but she wasn't happy with anything he was saying.

She was hopeful when Atharv called because she knows he fixes things, he brings peace to her heart, and part of her believed just speaking to him would make everything okay. And then the precap comes, and a hurt Atharv (whose pain is justified based on the hopes he had) turns up, calling her buzdil without knowing any of the story. Echoes of the time she didn't turn up for dinner, anyone? Vividha was again justified but Atharv didn't give her the opportunity to speak, and that is a flaw in his character, not hers.

He will feel like sh*t when he finds out about Guddi and so he should. Vividha did nothing wrong here, this episode wasn't about their love story. So although Atharv's tears hurt me to watch he has been going into this whole engagement business without a second's thought of what Vividha is feeling. This whole thing may put some much needed distance between them emotionally, where they can be in a space to figure things out for themselves.

Each is deserving of the others' love, but they're caught in a web right now and need to unpick all the issues in their relationship before we see any sort of engagement. But all of this has to come slowly throughout the Guddi track, it cannot be the sole focus. 1st July is indeed a day they won't forget in a hurry.

Your post was beautifully-written and I especially loved the way you described each character's perspective. I will come back with my reaction once I get to watch the episode.
This episode for me was filled with shattering beliefs and expectations for the majority of the characters and not just Vividha and Atharv.

Although momentarily, Kailash was flooded with the horror and disbelief that his daughter, Vividha, had broken free of his hand on her. That she had ultimately broken his faith and belief that she would obey his commands and his wishes for her. It hit him with such force that even seeing her in flesh proving she had not left couldn't calm the volcano that erupted inside of him at the thought of her abandoning the path he has set for her. It seemed like he couldn't even hear what Vividha was saying to him about Guddi because he was overcome with emotion at thought of her going to Atharv. Yes, Kailash suppresses Vividha's feelings and thoughts and puts out a false image of who he is as a person to her but atleast he is a decent father to her. For Guddi, she's his 16-year old daughter, who has been missing since the previous night and he didn't even have the same urgency, worry, anxiety, and fear that he displays time and again for Vividha. It felt like he was planning to find a neighbor's daughter than his own daughter. I have to say that Vineet managed to portray that hurt and disbelief brilliantly. In that moment, I forgot who he was as a person, husband, or father to his other two children but that he was a father to Vividha.

Vividha's illusion of her father is beginning to crumble in the first hard-hitting way. That break in her illusion whether it is the kind of husband he is to her mother or the kind of father he is to her sister is probably setting her up to realize Kailash's worst nightmare. It was heart-breaking to watch Vividha enveloped with worry, fear, and concern for her sister, and her father first not quite believe her or ready to do anything about it. When I was watching her, I didn't remember that Atharv was waiting for her because she obviously was going to want to find her sister and make sure she's okay than think about going to the mandir (though I believe she probably wouldn't have gone even if the Guddi situation didn't exist). However, even in that moment, I thought it spoke volumes that she did not forget Atharv, rather, she kept on mentioning him -- like he was her soothe to her brewing storm and like you said "he fixes things" and is always there when she needs him. I feel bad for Vividha because she is trapped with everyone's expectations from her and the decisions everyone else thinks she should make for herself. She is her own person and should be making her own decisions.

Atharv's perception of Vividha being able to break free of her familial bonds and come running to him were shattered. I definitely felt bad for him as it slowly sunk in that Vividha wasn't coming and then you see that hurt and pain in his eyes. The manner in which he watched the garland he made for being stamped reflected that sense of heart-break he was experiencing. However, this was definitely needed for Atharv to become more aware of the difficulty of her situation. Vividha has not gotten to a level where she has the realization of her feelings or the intent to break free from her bonds with her family and what her father wants for her. Furthermore, she hasn't even confessed her feelings for him to herself let alone him or even further away, her family. It will take a lot more time, development, and awareness from her end to even consider acting on her feelings. I look forward to seeing him realize what she is experiencing and learn to respect her pace and allow her to come to him on her own terms. The thing with Atharv is that he is able to speak what is on his mind and heart with abandon. He is able to communicate his feelings to himself, his mother, and everyone in the world without much thought into those consequences. It's so difficult for him to fathom that it might be so difficult for Vividha to realize and confess her feelings with the same ease that he does.

This whole thing may put some much needed distance between them emotionally, where they can be in a space to figure things out for themselves. -- yes this what I am looking forward to now.

Gr8 post.
True no ones fault, the whole episode is a big misunderstanding. However atharva brought all of dis on himself, u can't just force sm1 to go against her father whether she loves u or not. Atharva wud regret for sure when he finds out abt guddi however I really hope he stops running behind vividha. Although I feel d precap was pretty good, vividha will realise how much atharva loves her and how hurt he is, enough of showing way too much love when she keeps denying it.

Great post! You should post more often here! I saw this ok Twitter as well and I am glad you decided to post here :)

And my response is same as the one below which is by Ezriafanforever! She has written exactly what my response would have been. I really want him to stop running behind which might make Vividha realise her feelings. It's ironic how the closer he goes, the further away she gets and I bet if he will maintain some distance, she will come closer, being top pushy won't work in anyone's favour.

Brilliant post!
Exactly, Vivdha herself doesn't understand her feelings for Atharv. Why would she form a relationship with based on uncertainty?

I am so glad that Vividha is finally getting exposed to Kailash's true colours from valuing his reputation more than his daughters safety to Kailash blaming Uma for being irresponsible when she was not at fault. As soon as she realises that her father isn't an angel sent from heaven above it will only make it easier for her to love Atharv as there is only so much loyalty you can owe to someone as evil as Kailash.

I agree that Atharv should have let Vividha justify herself for not turning up to the temple because her reason was valid. I just think he was so deeply absorbed into his heart being broken that he was not willing to listen to any explanations in that moment.

When he does find out about the Guddi situation, I hope it makes them both realise that they have flaws that needs to be resolved. Vividha needs to trust Atharv, trust is a major foundation for any successful relationship. Atharv needs to realise that Vivdha may deny her feelings for him but she has valid reasons for doing so like the pressure of her family. He needs to realise that Vividha will come towards him in her own time not in the time that he declares.

I think distance between the two will be healthy for their relationship. I just hope we see Vividha, making the first moves in terms of their relationship not just Atharv. Distance can also help Vividha realise whether she truly loves Atharv or not

This particular line reminded me of how much Atharva is gonna feel bad when he would come to know about this whole Guddi fiasco. He is gonna feel the worst because that night when guddi was fleeing with that nasty guy, for even once, eventhough amidst sleep, Atharva did sense a girl is accompanying that nasty guy. He didnt go ahead, instead he slept back. Oh poor Atharva, he is gonna blame himself

I feel like Vividha isn't given enough credit for the strength that she DOES show. Just like you said it was a MASSIVE deal for her to not only repeatedly say Atharv was right, but in the same breath disagree with her father out in the open! She was SO strong today and of course Atharv didn't see that, he just sees that she didn't come to see HIM. Which is super selfish of him. He's been so caught up in trying to prove that she loves him that he hasn't once thought about HER. It's frustrating because we do both know they deserve each other, it's just that they are both on very different pages in this book, and they need to be on the same page before we see any out in the open declaration of love. Vividha needs to be on her own feet for a while and fight for what she believes is right and Atharv needs to leT HER DO THAT of her own accord, before anything can actually happen between the two of them.

But what a beautiful post, I really hope to see more of your posts in this forum!

Remember how Kailash slapped her and literally that very day she goes and demands 10lacs to get Atharv out and she's so so persistent, constantly questioning him. That takes a lot of GUTS!
