Mandodari and Mandore

Thought of sharing this interesting legend I recently came through

Mandodari is said to hail from Mandore, a small town in Jodhpur. Mayasur built Mandore for his beautiful wife. They named their daughter as Mandodari. Raavan got married to Mandodari in this town. Town people acknowledge this and refer to Raavan as kunwar sa'. It is also believed that some of the descendants of Ravan stayed back here after Raavan's death and on dussehra they mourn his death as they consider him as a great scholar and a great bhakt of Lord Shiva. They perform his shraadh (death anniversary rituals) as well. Raavan temple is also present in the town where these descendents worship him.

Yes I have seen it on TV and also the worship of Ravan in some Rajasthan MP and UP villages
