Might be a political issue.
Current govt of Badals is blamed for the drug menace in Punjab and they are allies in the central govt so might be calling the shots.

Quite a tough phase for Phantom...first they had Bombay Velvet and Shaandaar and now they are facing release issues with UP Hopefully Raman Raghav will turn out to be a positive and profitable venture for them.

Its most definitely political...Punjab elections are due in less than a year and chances of SAD losing vote share to Congress and AAP is very high. They can ill afford to release a movie which could project the state and thereby them in a bad light.

Can't they just release it with A certificate. I remember NH10 fell into the same trouble and yet it recovered profits. People who truly want to watch UP will watch it regardless

Though i am not favour of movies with dirty language but Why not give it a certification which fits in line with its content/language etc instead of butchering the movie ...let the grown up audience decide whether to watch it or not based on certification.

has the censor board changed?if the old member r still there then I am not surprised...they even made cuts to a sanskaari film like PRDP toh can expect them to do so to films produced by Phantom...
