It was mostly poor me! Sasha was a consummate little rascal, and he invariably pushed things as far as he could without inviting summary retribution.😉

Shyamala Aunty

I agree with this Periyamma... it's like the story of Krishna and Yashoda... where everyone's going 'Awww adorable Krishna... how could Yashoda tie him up'

When only Yashoda knows what got her to do it!😡

Loool I agree wholeheartedly... have enough Krishnas, Radhas and all sorts running in my house 😆

@ About the Dennis fact... had no idea about it being based on a real child

So please pick up the pieces of your broken cardiac apparatus and glue them together with Fewikwik for choice.😉 We have things to do and a lot of distance to cover come October.

😆

Yes I agree...☺️

Thanks a lot for setting me right on Kandy, Kausi dear. Unfortunately, I was never able to travel to Sri Lanka as yet, but in Chennai, when they refer to pilgrimages to the Murugan shrine in Sri Lanka, they often say Kandy-Kathirgamam, as one jointed name. I know that the Temple of the Tooth is at Kandy, but I assumed that Kandy also incorporated Kathirgamam. Now I know better, thanks to you!

We have an Asstt. High Commission in Kandy, besides the High Commission of India in Colombo. at one time, Gandhiji's grandson, Gopalakrishna Gandhi, was the Asstt. High Commissioner there.

Sinna Periamma I'm so happy that enjoyed my comments too🤗 And so so happy you made me as a good king of SL!

PS: Kartikeya's shrine in Kataragama but it's relic of the tooth of the Buddha in Kandy.😊

Yes, he was based on Dennis Ketcham, Hank Ketcham's son, and Henry Mitchell was apparently based on Hank Ketcham himself. I remember reading somewhere years ago that Dennis was a special child with a problem - and like you I felt very sad when I read that. But I cannot locate that reference now and the Wiki entry says nothing about that point.

Your Radha/Rithi would be equal to 10 Krishnas!😉

You know something, my poppets, if I were to wake you up, you would not like it at all. Do you know what I used to do to Sasha when he was acting like a dormouse well past the time for him to get up and get ready for school ?

1) Tickle his toes. He used to curl them up even tighter under the blanket.

2) Use a feather to tickle his ears. He used to pull the whole blanket over his head and sleep even more soundly.

3) Pull the whole blanket off him and drag it off the bed, so that he moved more than halfway down, with his little legs hanging over the side. But he was STILL asleep.

4) That was when I fetched a bottle of ice cold water from the fridge, and sprinkled it all over his face, like very light rain. That always worked! He sat bolt upright in bed, very much awake, so that I could drag him off to brush his teeth!

Now which of these do you want? Maybe No.4?

& my mother , she directly lands up on No.4...
