Unusual Umbrage
She called Amma frantically
"Amma she AGAIN took Nivi to her house"
Amma sighed making a face "ishita... weve been through this kanna"
"Amma she has her own Lasya no? In the evenings she just cries and cries, when she sees Nandu or Lasya, she wants to be there only" II expressed despair
"She stays home and loves your child, apdi eduthukoyen?" (take it in the right way no?) Amma said sighing
"The fact that my daughter loves her Athai more?" II accused
"Ayyo kanna... dont try to wean her yet then... u will atleast feel some bonding no?" Amma offered an alternative
"I cant pump 7 times a day at work... I cant even pump 5, I do 4 max" she said sniffling
"Hmm... enna panna solrey... u are imagining Nivi's moods"
"No I am not... whenever she sees Sam in the evening, she doesnt even come to me later" II cried
"Ayyo... office la azhaade di" (dont cry)
"Did Shravu feel like that?" II checked
"Umm.. uh... no" Amma replied reluctantly
"I am not going to have any more... and the one I have loves her Athai more" II sulked
"Sam is GOLD... only u wud complain abt her" Amma scolded
"She is golden... but she doesnt have to pick Nivi up everyday... I am goingt o start pumping more from tomorrow and wake up three times at night to feed her"
"Anda pollaadu ippo daan two weeks a toongardu raatri" (that lil tyke has only just begun sleeping at night)
"RAKSHASAN!! HE IS THE ROOT OF ALL MY PROBLEMS" II turned to her fave punching bag
Amma forgot the delicate subject, and laughed out loud
"Can I come to D II for a couple of weeks? That way she wont come to get Nivi"
"Edukku dee? Appa will not let u go... R&B is in India... it will become a bigg mess"

"Who?' "Appa?"
"NO... Pfffttt!! IVANNN" (dude)" II ordered
"Podi!!" Amma admonished
II made plans to go to Shanti Niketan after work
She didnt know HOW to tell Sam
She didnt tell R&B, the last couple months had been bad... Sam was getting too attached and II? Too jealous
She arrived at Sam's after fighting traffic and her own temper at 7 ish...
Tan sat in the sun rom lounge, Nivi slobbered all over him
She wore cut off shorts and a frilly halterneck blouse with roses stuck all over
She looked at II her curls all over her face and smiled... a wet drooly smile
Her locks drenched in them
She turned towards Tan and started to chew on his collar
"RAKSHASI" II cursed throwing her purse on the comfy lounge chair
"Chai ke paise nahi lete yaar, purse kyon laayi?" he asked
"Whatever... sar mein dard hai... chai ke saath kuch milega?" she asked
He chuckled
"Beti aur Ma... dono demanding... baap ek dum seedha"
"Yaar? Avan daane?" (oh him?)
He smacked a wall bell
sam came
"Kya laaoon saheb?" she asked
She bend down and kissed Tan on teh lips
"Aaj khud chalkar kaun aaya hai ghar pe?" Sam winked
"Hes not even answering the phone... so I had to"
II yanked Nivi, she shouted
"Vaa deee" she hissed
"Arey chai to pee lo"
"Royi aaj?" II asked not looking at Sam
"Yeh? EK SECOND BHI NAHI" sam said smugly
As Nivi slithered from hubby to wife
II wanted to crush that fat body and make a pulp of it
She looked SO cute
But she was elusive
"Help brought chai and an array of food II ate glaring at her daughter
"Rs.500 ka note hai?" Tan said pointing to her purse
Sam smacked him 'Tan she looks tired... pangey nahi" Sam warned
Tan chuckled
"I didnt mean to bring my purse" II was hurt at Tan teasing her again
"TANNN" Sam was shocked
II picked up her daughter forcefully and Nivi looked at her shocked
"Kal Saturday hai... kal laaoon?" she whispered politely
Sam watched aghast as II forgot her purse and left for home
Going home to find dude not at home
He hit 20th on the Spectrum elevator...
Mrs Sagar fell off her chair when he walked over to his area
"U are still here?" he said
"I was waiting for a handsome Frenchman" she said blushing
He waited for her to get off and give him a hug
He always looked carelessly pulled together
The khakhi cargos, and a old worn out cotton shirt, the three day stubble... too many curls
"Is Trehaan here?" he asked
Mrs Sagar's turn... for her jaw to drop that is...
"Can I see him in the office?" he said with an affronted look on his face "Please? Thanks!!" he nodded walking towards his door
