Suman's parents ?

I started watching this show late, missed the initial two weeks and later read the WU's for the first 2 weeks. I have a question regarding Suman's parents. I understand her parents are no more, but have there been any flash backs showing how it happened?

I also noticed that Suman still uses the name Tiwari, which is her Nana's family name, but shouldn't she be using her Father's family name ? Is it also Tiwari ? Has there been any mention of her father's family so far ?

I can see that the CV's are very good, the story as such has no loopholes till now, so I am just curious as I think I missed something 😕
