RNHS Chapter 12

Next morning sharp at 0800 hours

Rajveer and Naina meet at the parking spot. They smile politely and wish good morning to each other. Rajveer takes her bag and puts it on the back seat of his jeep. As he was doing that, Naina gives herself the liberty to check him out and finds him looking glorious as ever.

She remembers how since the moment she woke up out of excitement of commencing this journey she was desperate to talk to him, like really talk to him non stop. But at this moment when he is finally here in front of her she has gone numb. She clueless about what she wants to say to him.

Rajveer is no where behind her in this. Even he is clueless about what he wants to say to her.

"Breakfast kiya?",

he asks finally, trying to disrupt the awkwardness.

"Ji!",

smiles Naina, politely.

"Apne?",

she asks.

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. Not many people ask this to him. He blushes and nods his head into affirmative.

They get into the jeep.

"Pooja ko bata kar ayi ho?",

asks Rajveer.

"Ji! Kaha ke main apke saath ja rahi hun."

Smirking he says,

"Agey to fir kuch pucha nahi hoga Pooja ne?"

Naina blushes and shakes her head into negative.

"But I don't think wo believe kar rahi hai mujh par.",

Naina confesses.

Rajveer starts driving.

"Kyun?",

asks Rajveer, looking towards her, knitting his brows.

"Jis tarah se smile kar rahi thi, aisa lag raha hai uske dimag mein koi aur hi khurafat chal raha tha.",

saying so she lowers her eyes out of shyness.

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat and he widens his eyes.

As they were about to reach KMA gate, Abhimanyu happens to come to them. Rajveer slows down his jeep.

Resting his wrist on the jeep's head, he bends a little and smiles at Rajveer,

"Good morning Raj, kahan ja rahe hain aap?"

He then looks towards Naina, smiling politely. Naina smiles back.

Rajveer notices all that and a ping of jealousy surges through him. But he calms himself down.

"Naina ko uske ghar chorne ja raha hun.",

says Raj, earnestly.

"Ghar? Kyun?",

asks Abhimanyu, knitting his brows.

"Sub... theek hai na?",

he asks further, concerned, looking towards Naina.

Before Rajveer could reply, Naina replies,

"Ji... Abhimanyu... bus Ma Baba se milne ka mann kar raha tha to... and ghar jakar exams ki preparation bhi kar lungi."

Rajveer turns his head towards his front, knitting his brows lightly, he puts pressure on the steering wheel that he is holding.

"Oh... and I was thinking ke Music exam ke liye apko notes de dunga. But that's okay. I am sure unke bina bhi you'll marvel the exams.",

says Abhimanyu, confidently.

Naina smiles, lowering her eyes.

"Of course Chauhan Sahab, I am sure apne achi classes di hongi Naina ko. Nahi Naina?",

he shifts his attention towards Naina, smiling infectiously.

Naina stares him, knitting her brows lightly.

At the mess

"Suriji nashta!",

says Alekh, sitting on a seat in the mess, along with his group.

Suriji walks to their table and personally places their breakfast in front of each of them.

When it comes Alekh's turn, he turns to leave empty handed.

"Arey Suriji apun ka khana?",

asks Alekh, surprised.

"Jaldi do na sala apun ko aaj itni bhook kyun lag rahi hai aaj pata nahi.",

curses Alekh.

"Arey thand rakh Qaidi, abhi aa jayega khana!",

says Huda.

Suriji reaches them and forwards his hand towards Alekh, as if asking to give him something.

Alekh looks towards Suriji, knitting his brows, surprised, and says,

"Kya Suriji, aap bhul gaye kya apun lawaris hai. Apun yahan khane ke paise nahi deta. Qaidi hai apun Qaidi."

Slapping on his head, Suriji says,

"Oye khoteya, paise nahi wo de jiska bank tu humesha jeb mein le kar ghumta hai!"

"Kya?",

asks Alekh, unable to understand what is he asking for.

Suriji gestures him that he is asking for his flask of drink.

As Alekh realizes, he widens his eyes and asks mockingly,

"Kya Suriji, subah subah hi?",

and he gestures with his thumb that is Suriji planning to drink early in the morning today?

"Oye puttar din mein to main hosh mein rehna pasand karta hun taki tum nalayakon ko hosh mein la sakun. Samjh aa rahi hai? To din mein no tedha-medha kaam!",

says Suriji.

"Fir kyun?",

asks Alekh.

"Wo darsal, in fact aisa hai ke Captain Rajveer ke strict order hain ke aaj tujhe sirf dinner diya jaye.",

says Suriji.

"Kya????",

shouts Alekh, surprised.

Ali, Huda, Yudi, Pooja too get surprised.

"Abey ye ke hua tau?",

says Huda.

"Kya kar diya bhai tu ne Qaidi, ke Rajveer Sir kal se tujh par baras rahe hain?",

asks Huda.

Alekh glares Huda.

"Yeah man, Rajveer Sir tumse itni asani se gussa hote nahi hai. Zarur kuch badi baat hogi! Tell us kya hua?",

asks Yudi, intruged.

"Khoon karke aa raha hun kisi ka!",

says Alekh, glaring Yudi, pissed off.

Saying so Alekh places his bank of drink on Suriji's hand, with a little more pressure than was required, out of anger.

Laughing lovingly, Suriji leaves.

"Wohhooo!! Chill man mujh par kyun bhadak rahe ho?",

asks Yudi, calming Alekh down.

"Waise Naina nahi dikh rahi. Chali gayi kya?",

asks Yudi, shifting his attention towards Pooja, trying to change the topic.

Huda relaxes back and takes a sip of his coffee.

"Haan wo to apne Ranjhe...",

says Pooja, and holds back her tongue, widening her eyes.

Nothing goes unheard by any of them. Huda knits his brows a little.

"Mera matlab... wo apne ghar gayi.",

rectifies Pooja, avoiding to look towards any of them.

"Waise hum subah Rajveer Sir se milne gaye the ek topic samjh nahi aya tha to socha agar wo free hue to jaldi se samjh lenge. Par lagta hai wo kahin gaye hue hain. Unka room look tha. Aur Manish ke saath bahar jab gaye to parking lot mein unki jeep bhi nahi thi.",

says Ali.

Alekh widens his eyes hearing that.

"Zarur inn dono ke beech firse koi locha hua hoga!",

mummers Alekh.

"Isn't it surprising bro, pehle Alekh par gussa; fir unki absence academy se, early morning. And... and...",

says Yudi, unable to carry on with his words.

Huda's heart skips a beat as he realizes Yudi's unsaid words.

"Phoolan bhi nahi hai...!",

says Huda, trying to picture out everything.

Pooja widens her eyes, getting nervous.

"Oye Huda, tu na do alag signals ko mila kar cross connection karne ki koshish mat kar!",

scolds Pooja.

Huda looks towards Pooja, knitting his brows.

"Punjaban, jo dikh raha hai wohi bol raha hun.",

says Huda, getting angry.

Pooja rolls her eyes.

Understanding that she needs to take the matter into her hands so that it doesn't go haywire, Naina quickly says,

"Ahmm... of course Abhimanyu aur Aap... aap dono hi apne-apne profession mein bohot ache hain!"

Abhimanyu smiles politely. But Rajveer stares Naina, smiling sarcastically. Naina looking towards Rajveer, lowers her eyes out of hesitation.

"By the way you look pretty this morning more than any other mornings.",

compliments Abhimanyu, smiling.

Naina could feel the heat emitted by her cheeks. She stares Abhimanyu, dumbstruck. Why did he have to say that? - she wonders. Finding no other way to escape this situation except accepting his compliment, Naina smiles hesitantly, completely aware of Rajveer's reaction to the on going conversation.

"Thank you, Abhimanyu.",

she says politely and looks towards Rajveer through the corner of her eyes.

Abhimanyu smiles.

Taking a deep breath, Rajveer asks,

"Aur bhi kuch baat karni hai ya hum ab chalein?",

Rajveer plasters a smile on his face.

"Haan! Sure. Have a safe journey.",

wishes Captain Chauhan, smiling.

Naina smiles hesitantly.

Rajveer ignores to show any gesture of politeness towards Abhimanyu and turns the wheels of his car.

~*~*~

The journey is commenced quietly where Naina looks towards Rajveer, sheepishly, to know his reaction.

"A... wo...",

begins Naina, mustering courage.

Rajveer doesn't make any effort to either encourage her or discourage her from speaking.

"Maine... Ma ko nahi bataya ke main aaj aa rahi hun.",

says Naina, randomly, trying to begin some conversation.

"Hmm... acha kiya. Let it be a surprise for them. Although I really don't know mujhe tumhe aise wahan chorna chahiye ya nahi.",

says Rajveer.

Naina knits her brows.

"Main aise pehli baar nahi ja rahi. I am sure I can manage. And apko kya meri skills par shaq hai?",

asks Naina, feeling offended.

"What? What do you mean?",

asks Rajveer, knitting his brows.

"I know wo route kaisa hai. Bus mein kayi type ke log milenge. Par aap shayad bhul rahe hain main bhi Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia hun! Main kisi se nahi darti.",

says Naina, busting with pride.

Smiling, shaking his head, Rajveer says,

"Trust me Cadet Singh, mujhe apke hunar par koi shaq nahi hai."

Naina looks towards him.

"Main khud apse kabhi kabhi darr jata hun!",

he says, jokingly.

Naina stares him, all serious. Soon she bursts out into a fit of laughter. Rajveer joins her into it.

The longer he drove, the more relaxed she felt in his company.

"You know what I am sorry! I really am!",

she says out of blue.

Rajveer looks towards her, knitting his brows.

"Sorry? Kis baat ke liye?",

asks Rajveer.

"Mujhe apse aise baat karna band nahi karna chahiye tha.",

she accepts.

Rajveer's heart swells with pride, at least she has realized.

Then getting pissed off, Naina says,

"Par main kya karti, wo Alekh..."

"Aap na usse saza dena!",

she says, irritated, she pushes herself against the seat in anger and crosses her arms over her chest.

Smiling, Rajveer says,

"Don't worry everything has been taken care of!"

"Matlab?",

asks Naina, looking towards Rajveer, knitting her brows.

"Matlab I am sure ab tak usse uski saza milni shuru ho gayi hogi!",

smiles Rajveer, sarcastically.

This skips Naina's heartbeat and the sister in her wakes up. She gets straight and looking towards him in horror, asks him, raising her voice,

"Apne usse punishment di?"

"He deserved it!",

says Rajveer, casually.

"What do you mean he deserved it?",

asks Naina, her anger towards Rajveer rises.

This comes as a surprise for Rajveer. Widening his eyes, his eyes on the road, he says,

"Naina tum apne teacher se puch rahi ho ke usne apne student ko punishment kyun di?"

This skips another of Naina's heartbeat, and she lowers her eyes, feeling guilty.

Shaking his head a little towards right, smirking unhappily, Rajveer taunts,

"Kya zamana aa gaya hai? Pehle log guru ke diye gaye dand (punishment) ko bhagwan ka dand samjhte the aur ab..."

"Aap Bhagwan nahi hai anyways!",

says Naina, clearly.

"You know what apko usse punishment nahi dena chahiye tha. Itni bhi kya galti kar di usne ke usse punishment mil rahi hai?",

asks Naina, pissed off.

"Really Naina? Do you have any idea mujhe kitni irritation ho rahi thi jab tum mujhse baat nahi kar rahi thi?",

he asks, raising his voice.

"Tumhara kya tha, I am sure tum to enjoy hi kar rahi thi mujhe tadpa kar!"

This skips Naina's heartbeat. 'Tadpa kar?' Where does it come from? What does he mean?

"Iss mein tadpane ki kya baat hai?",

she asks, astonished.

"I mean theek hai ke aap confused the. But tadpana??? Maine tadpaya kab?",

she asks him.

"Itni innocent mat bano Naina. Remember jab tum mere room mein ayi thi?",

asks Rajveer.

"Of course I remember, to?",

asks Naina, puzzled.

"I was craving to hear you Naina! Tum mere samne thi; mere room mein. But tum mujhse larh nahi rahi thi. Tum mujh par gussa nahi thi. How do you think had I felt? And...",

before he could continue, Naina bursts out into a fit of laughter.

Rajveer looks towards her, enjoying her fit of laughter.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins as Rajveer takes glances of her)

"Acha to apka matlab ke main apse bus larhne ati hun apke room mein?",

asks Naina.

"To aur kya karne aati ho?",

asks Rajveer, his heart fluttering as he tries to anticipate her reply.

Naina goes numb and blush creeps on her cheeks.

Rajveer smiles, his eyes twinkle with naughtiness on witnessing Naina's blushing.

"Jab tum mujhse ye puch rahi thi ke main ghutan kab tak seh sakta hun, tab mujhe ajeeb laga tha.",

confesses Rajveer.

Naina's heart skips another beat and she lowers her eyes again.

"Nahi samjh pa raha tha ke tum kya kehna chahti ho.",

he confesses.

Naina's heart contracts.

"Jab tumhe Abhimanyu ke saath dekha... to laga shayad issi barey mein baat kar rahi hogi tum!!!",

he confesses, looking towards her.

Naina stares back, feeling all the more guilty.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

"Tab mujhe laga ke isse zada ghutan mujhe nahi ho sakti.",

confesses Rajveer.

"Lekin jab maine realize kiya ke tum mujhse baat hi nahi kar rahi..."

Naina's heart beats at a tremendous speed.

"Tab pata chala asli ghutan ka matlab!",

confesses Rajveer.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

"Naina aisa nahi hai ye ghutan mujhe pehli baar hui hai. Lekin haan shayad bohot waqt baad hui hai!",

adds Rajveer to his confession.

"Janti ho isse pehle mujhe ghutan kab hui thi? Jab Naveen ko apne haathon se maine... nahi bardasht kar pa raha tha. Uss pal ke baad maine apne din kaise bitayein airf main janta hun.",

asks Rajveer, looking towards Naina.

"Aap... aap jaisa soch rahe hain... waisa... waisa kuch nahi hai...",

says Naina, lowering her eyes.

Rajveer smiles sarcastically and says,

"Shayad tum kuch samjh hi nahi pa rahi."

"Ya aap kuch zada samjh rahe hain!",

retorts Naina, politely, her eyes lowered out of hesitation.

"Duriyan aur nazdikiyan dono mehsus hui mujhe!",

says Rajveer, in a hushed voice.

Naina looks towards him, feeling his pain.

"Duriyan mujhse aur nazdikiyan...",

he trails off and looks towards Naina.

Naina's breathing rate increases and the same happens with her rate of heartbeat too.

She stares him for sometime, knitting her brows, unable to understand what to say.

"Unn nazdikiyon ki wajah bhi aap hi baney!",

says Naina, looking straight towards him.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune continues)

Rajveer looks towards her for fraction of seconds then looks back towards road ahead.

"And forget about that, aap soch bhi kaise sakte hain ke main...???",

she trails off and looks away out of irritation.

"Aap achi tarah jante hain, mera maksad sirf Naveen Bhaiya ko innocent prove karna hai. Main apne mind ko kabhi bhatakne nahi de sakti.",

says Naina, looking away.

Smiling sarcastically, Rajveer says,

"Right! Ye to main bhul hi gaya tha, tumhara maksad sirf Naveen ko innocent prove karna hai; sirf Naveen ko innocent prove karna."

Naina realizes how he is taking all this and she stares him helplessly, unable to understand how to make him understand.

Before Naina could say anything, Rajveer's phone rings refraining Naina from speaking more.

Rajveer realizes that he cannot leave the steering wheel to pick up the call, as it's rush in front of him.

"Naina please dekhogi kon hai?",

requests Rajveer.

His request drags Naina out of her reverie and she tries to locate the sound and realizes the phone is in his breast pocket of his shirt. She hesitates to reach out to his phone.

"Come on Naina jaldi karo, jisne bhi call kiya ho wo call hi kaat dega. It could be urgent.",

scolds Rajveer, mildly.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

She hesitantly, brings out the phone off his pocket. The jeep goes through a light jerk and hence Naina's hand falls on his exposed chest. The sudden skin to skin touch skips the heartbeats of both Naina and Rajveer alike. They go numb.

Naina quickly looks towards Rajveer and apologizes,

"I... I am sorry..."

Rajveer looks towards her, giving her a serious possessive stare for fraction of seconds, looking back towards the road, he reminds her,

"Phone?"

Naina quickly checks the caller.

"Cadet Ghai?",

Naina reads the name of the caller, and looks towards Rajveer.

"Pooja ka call?",

she asks, doubtfully.

"Receive karo. Dekho kya keh rahi hai.",

orders Rajveer.

"Hello!",

says Naina.

This skips the heartbeat of the caller. But soon the caller relaxes and orders,

"Chal Rajveer Sir ko de!"

Now that skips Naina's heartbeat.

She knits her brows, feeling offended and forwards the phone towards Rajveer, looking straight at the road, out of anger.

"Kiska hai?",

asks Rajveer still not taking the phone from her, as there is rush on the road. The honking of the cars go louder because of the rush.

Naina looks towards him and says, out of anger,

"Apke ladle ka!"

"Alekh?",

blurts Rajveer, confused.

"Uska phone kyun aya hai?",

asks Rajveer.

"Aap baat karenge to pata chalega na!",

comes Alekh's reply.

Rajveer and Naina looks towards the phone out of surprise. Naina laughs silently, not wanting Alekh to know that she is not really angry on him.

"Aur Naina zada natak mat kar, apun ko pata hai tu hans reli hai.",

says Alekh, pissed off.

This makes Rajveer to laugh too, silently. Rajveer Naina stare each other, laughing silently.

Naina places the phone on speaker.

"Bol kya bolna hai!",

says Naina.

"Dant kayeko rahi hai? Bol raha hun!",

says Alekh.

This makes Rajveer and Naina to laugh secretly.

"Apun ko to saza mil chuki thi na Sir?",

asks Alekh, pissed off.

His words touch Naina's heart and she makes a face that indicates how much she loves Alekh. Rajveer too laughs secretly, lovingly but keeps his strict self intact in front of Alekh.

Rajveer in a strict tone asks,

"Tumhe kya laga bus itne mein chuuth jaoge?"

Naina slaps her forehead secretly, blushing.

"Abhi to shuruat hai bachu agey agey dekho hota hai kya.",

challenges Rajveer.

Naina looks towards Rajveer, shocked.

"Apun ko aap dono se baat hi nahi karni!",

saying so Alekh ends the call.

Rajveer and Naina burst out into fits of laughter.

"Dekha na wo gussa ho gaya?",

scolds Naina, pissed off.

Rajveer widens his eyes as her scolding comes as a surprise for Rajveer.

"Bechara Alekh!",

says Naina, sorrowfully.

This really pisses Rajveer off. Out of frustration, he says,

"Haan, tumhe to bus dusre hi bechare nazar atey hain! Bechara Alekh! Bechari Pooja! Bechara Hudaaa! Bechara Chauhaaan!",

he emphasizes on Huda and Chauhan.

Naina realizes how pissed off he is.

"Arey ab aap gussa kyun ho rahe hain? Dost hai mere wo!",

says Naina, pissed off.

"Right! Wo dost hain! Par main kon hun tumhara?",

asks Rajveer, his voice intent.

Naina's heart skips a beat and she goes numb.

Rajveer looks towards Naina for fraction of seconds, they focusing back on his driving, he says sarcastically,

"I am sure, nothing!"

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

Naina keeps staring him, all serious.

"Isliye to tumhe farak nahi parha mujhse baat na karne se!",

taunts Rajveer, out of anger.

"Kisne kaha mujhe farak nahi parh raha tha?",

asks Naina, calmly, understanding his situation.

Rajveer's heart skips a beat and he looks towards her.

"Main majbur thi!",

says Naina, lowering her voice.

This clenches Rajveer's heart.

"No denial ke shuru mein maine josh mein aakar shart accept kar liya tha. In fact Alekh ne to ek baar maaf bhi kar diya tha!",

she tells him, without keeping anything from him.

Rajveer knits his brows lightly.

"Par wo kahin na kahin meri haar thi. Aur fir, main khud dekhna chahti thi ke akhir kab tak main apse bina baat kiye reh sakti hun!",

she confesses, her voice turns softer.

Rajveer's rate of heartbeat picks up pace. He stares her, smirking, he focuses back on his driving. Taking a deep breath, he asks,

"To kya discover kiya apne Cadet Singh?"

"I don't know main apse bina baat kiye ab kaise zinda reh paungi!",

blurts Naina, softly.

Her sudden bold confession, makes Rajveer to apply the break with more force than was necessary, creating loud noise.

He stares her, surprised. Naina stares back, blushing, with no smile on her face out of nervousness.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

"To kyun ja rahi ho?",

he asks her, unable to control himself any longer. His eyes pleading her to stop.

"Main yahan reh kar parhayi mein concentrate nahi kar paungi.",

she says earnestly, requesting him, her eyes turn soft.

"Wahan reh kar kar paogi?",

asks Rajveer, frustrated.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

"Aap kyun rok rahe hain mujhe?",

asks Naina, politely.

Rajveer looks towards her, his brows knitted out of frustration.

"Taki tumhe saza de paun mujhse baat na karne ki.",

says Rajveer, irritated.

This makes Naina to laugh.

"Saza to aap already de rahe hain mere jane ke faisle mein mera saath na de kar.",

says Naina, teasingly.

Rajveer looks towards her for fraction of seconds, then turns back his attention towards driving.

"Naina... how can I make you understand?",

asks Rajveer, frustrated.

"Kitne time se mujhe waqt hi nahi mil raha tha tumse theek se baat karne ka aur ab jab finally main free hun to... tum ja rahi ho.",

says Rajveer.

Naina's heart clenches hearing that.

"To ek kaam karte hain. Aap bhi mere saath chaliye!",

proposes Naina.

Rajveer gives her a look of disbelief.

"What? Main? Are you kidding?",

asks Rajveer, finding her suggestion ridiculous.

"Haan kyun? Maine galat kya kaha?",

asks Naina, knitting her brows lightly.

"Meri classes ka kya hoga Madam?",

asks Rajveer, taunting her lightly.

"Keh dena aap ke apne mission se related kisi kaam se apko urgently jana parha apko report karne ka time nahi mila. After all secret mission par aney ka koi to faida hona chahiye na?",

teases Naina, giving him idea.

"Aur acha hai na, isse meri 'Strategies and Communication' ki classes bhi miss nahi hongi!",

Saying so Naina purses her lips, avoiding to look towards him.

Rajveer narrows his eyes on her. Naina stares back confidently after gaining back her equilibrium. This brings a smile on Rajveer's face which in return makes Naina to smile too.

"Mujhe lag raha tha ki tum 'distractions' se durr bhag rahi ho?",

teases Rajveer, emphasizing on 'distraction'.

This skips Naina's heartbeat. Blush creeps on her face which makes Rajveer to laugh silently.

"Apko kisne kaha aap mere distraction hain?",

asks Naina softly, not daring to look towards him.

"To kon hun main tumhara?",

asks Rajveer intensely.

(Fast Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

His sudden bold question takes the rate of Nina's heartbeat to another level.

She looks towards him, shocked. Rajveer stares back his stare dark and possessive on her.

Staring her still knowing that she won't reply, Rajveer brings out his mobile, parking his jeep at a corner he calls Brigadier Chandok, never looking away from Naina, and hence forcing her to maintain the stare.

"Hello!"

"Hello Sir, mujhe kisi kaam ke silsile mein zara bahar jana hai kuch dino ke liye. Kya mujhe leave mil sakti hai? Actually main abhi bahar hun and I am heading directly towards the destination isliye apse personally akar permission nahi le pa raha."

"Par Captain tum ja kahan rahe ho?"

"Confidential hai Sir, nahi bata sakta ke kahan ja raha hun!"

His words skip Naina's heartbeat, he really is going with her! Her cheeks start emitting heat as she realizes that all this he is doing for her!

Her heart clenches. She wonders how would she repay this ever?

She realizes that she is not permitted to look away because he is still staring her. She is engulfed by his stare.

(Rajveer-Naina xylophone tune begins)

Naina also realizes how he always moulds himself according to her needs, to whatever extent is possible for him. Her heartbeat picks up pace. And that before him no one has ever made her feel important and needed.

"Alright Sir. Okay Sir. Thank you.",

saying so he ends the call and takes a deep breath.

Naina keeps staring him. Rajveer smiles and finally Naina lowers her eyes.

"Apko... apko ye karne ki zarurat nahi thi.",

says Naina, hesitantly, feeling guilty.

This makes Rajveer who was by now doing something in his mobile to look towards her.

"What? To tumhara matlab hai ab main Brigadier Chandok ko phone karke ye kahun ke 'sorry Sir plan cancel, kyunki Cadet Singh ko aisa lagta hai ke mujhe ye karne ki zarurat nahi thi?' ",

asks Rajveer, teasing her, knitting his brows on purpose to make her feel guilty all the more.

Laughing, shaking his head, Rajveer focuses on his driving.

Naina too relaxes.

"Achi lag rahi ho.",

he says out of blue, his eyes on the road.

Naina turns to look towards him, shocked.

Rajveer looks towards her for fraction of seconds, smiling, then looks back in front.

Naina blushes then relaxes on her seat.

They remain quiet for few seconds then Naina says,

"Aap meri taqat hain. Aur kamzori bhi."

Rajveer finds it surprising. His heart skips a beat on her sudden confession. He smiles hearing that, his eyes on the road ahead and nods his head into affirmative.

Naina turns to look towards him, and asks,

"Kya hua?"

Rajveer raises both his brows and looks towards her for fraction of seconds and looks back towards the road whilst saying,

"Kuch bhi nahi! Kya hoga?"

Naina smiles staring him.

She doesn't understand how this boldness enters in her and holding few hair of his, she teases,

"Baal lambe ho gaye hain. Aise agar Ma ne dekh liya to ghar mein entry nahi milegi."

Rajveer finds this gesture of Naina intimate.

Laughing lightly, he asks,

"Tumhari tabiyat theek hai na?"

"Ji! Kyun?",

she asks narrowing her eyes on him as she senses sarcasm in his words.

"Nahi... Ajeeb ajeeb behave kar rahi ho! Socha yaad dila dun ke tum Cadet Naina Ah Singh ho. Aur main Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat!",

teases Rajveer and purses his lips.

Naina lowers her eyes.

"Such such batana kahin Alekh ke pack se tumne bhi ek-do ghunt...",

Rajveer teases her.

Rajveer notices that Naina is not reacting to his words as she was earlier.

On realizing her sudden withdrawal, Rajveer asks her politely,

"Kya hua?"

Naina looks towards him. Rajveer stares too, for fraction of seconds and then again concentrates on driving, but his mind doesn't drift from Naina.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

"Ye barrier humesha rahega na humare beech?",

her bold questions comes as a surprise for Rajveer.

He stares her, serious.

He for the first time witnesses Naina giving their relationship, whatever it is between them, giving it a serious thought.

Bound to look forward as he is driving, he looks forward without answering her question. He takes a deep breath. Naina took looks ahead, staying quiet. Fearing that she might have hurt his feelings.

"Dusre kya sochte hain iss baat se humein farak nahi parhna chahiye!",

says Rajveer calmly, his eyes on the road, driving.

Naina looks back towards him, to confirm if he really meant that? He doesn't turn to look towards her. This confirms that he is adamant at his words.

Naina's eyes gradually starts wandering towards his face profile. Sitting next to him, she looks towards his eyes, as much is visible to her. His side profile does look good, she mentally concludes. His nose! His lips...! And she rests her eyes on his lips, she feels twitching, down there! She realizes she had been longing to feel them and today, it's going out of her control to resist that.

Naina's heartbeat picks up pace. She could feel the heating up of her cheeks. She could feel loosing of her control over rational thoughts. And soon it becomes impossible for her to resist him, and she launches on him.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina piano key tune begins)

But Rajveer being the master of strategy and communication, could see this coming and hence, he with his hand pushes her back lightly. He doesn't want to hurt her by any means but at the same time he doesn't want her emotions to overflow. He needs her to keep them under control.

"Relax Cadet Singh!",

he says, smiling, his eyes on the road.

His forbiddance irritates her. Afterall it wasn't easy for her to take such a bold step but she still took. And here what is she getting? Instead of encouraging her; he is discouraging? It was as if a reality check for her! She silently vows to not initiate any such move in future ever. Her ego is hurt, this is for sure!

Rajveer who understands everything, smiles politely, shaking his head at her kiddish thought. No her step wasn't kiddish! Her feelings wasn't kiddish! But what she is thinking right now about her bold step is kiddish! Because she should know she has all rights to do her heart's desire when they are outside KMA and off duty. Because off duty they are not Captain Rajveer and Cadet Naina but only Rajveer and Naina!

Rajveer mentally notes that they need to discuss this too. But chooses to keep it for later to discuss. This is just the initial stage of their relationship. He doesn't want to load her with baggage. He rather wants her to finally feel free in his presence, in all way!

Rajveer realizes that she is drifting away from her, feeling guilty for her bold step.

Sighing, smiling, shaking his head, he looks towards her and asks,

"Hum kahan ja rahe hain Naina?"

Naina turns to look towards him quizzically. Why would he ask that when he already knows?

Rajveer arches a brow, looking towards her for fraction of seconds and then looks in front, driving.

"Hmm??",

he prompts.

"Ghar!",

she replies, confused.

Rajveer smiles and nods his head into affirmative.

Naina keeps staring him, confused.

"Kya agar hum abhi bhavnao mein beh kar, agey badhein, to tum ghar jakar apne Ma Baba se nazre mila paogi?",

he asks politely, as if Naina is some delicate object.

Her heart skips a beat as she realizes that! She lowers her eyes out of guilt.

Rajveer realizes that she is feeling guilty.

"Naina... Please...",

he requests and shakes his head into negative.

"Tum janti ho main tumhe guilty feel karwana nahi chahta tha. Isliye I was skeptical about saying this to you. But I had to do it. I didn't have any other option. Because main janta tha ke kuch karne ke baad agar ye baat main tumhe samjhata to tum guilty feel karti.",

he explains her, ever so politely.

Naina nods into 'yes'!

"I can understand!",

she mummers, not looking towards him.

"Aur kya pata tum ye bhi sochti ke maine tumhara faida uthaya?",

saying so Rajveer purses his lips, ignoring to look towards Naina.

Naina looks towards him lovingly, confidently,

"Aap aisa kabhi nahi karenge, I know!"

Her confidence in him swells his heart. He smiles politely, blushing.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

"Thank you...",

she mummers, now looking towards him.

Rajveer looks towards her. Through his eyes, he indicates her that she doesn't have to thank him for anything.

"I don't know how could I behave that way!",

says Naina, shutting her eyes, feeling extremely shy.

Rajveer in an urgent and possessive tone says looking towards her for fraction of seconds,

"I am glad you did behave that way!"

(Rajveer-Naina fast love tune begins)

Naina looks towards him, finding his reply so unlike Rajveer.

Rajveer understanding her confusion, smiles and says,

"It's okay to do your heart's desire sometimes Naina. And with me... Tumhara mujh par pura haq hai. You can do anything with me purey HAQ SE!"

(Rajveer-Naina's fast tune begins)

Naina keeps staring each other. Rajveer looks towards her for some moments, smiling politely.

The further ride goes silent. With Naina nervous and sad about leaving him behind in the academy, especially now! And as for Rajveer controlling his feelings for her becomes all the more difficult now as he realizes her feelings towards him! How is he going to survive now without her? How will he stay in the academy alone? With his mind wandering to her every now and then?

Soon they reach in front of Naina's house. Rajveer parks the Jeep a bit away from the house so that they can talk and say the goodbyes properly. Switching off the ignitiant point of the jeep, Rajveer takes a deep breath.

Naina keeps staring him.

Rajveer looks towards her and finds her staring him. They enjoy an intimate eye lock. Naina becomes the first one to lower her eyes.

Looking back towards him, she asks,

"Aap ander ayenge?"

Rajveer shakes his head into negative, smiling throughout, looking towards her.

Naina's heart sinks as somehow she knew his answer. The softening of her eyes tell Rajveer how much she wants him to come along with her.

He realizes he needs to make her understand.

"Agar ander gaya, to wapas ana bohot mushkil ho jayega.",

he says, almost whispering, looking into her eyes.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

Naina's heartbeat picks up pace as she realizes that this is it, he would leave now. Soon her eyes brim with tears, and she requests him with all her heart,

"To mat jaiye na!"

"Naina...",

he breaths, feeling her pain deep inside his heart.

"Ye mere bus mein nahi. Tum hi socho...",

says Rajveer, knitting his brows.

"Soch liya hai. Isiliye bol rahi hun!",

says Naina, looking straight into his eyes, but politely.

Rajveer smiles at her innocence and shakes his head into negative, staring her throughout.

"Aisa nahi ho sakta Naina. Tumhare Ma-Baba kya kahenge?",

says Rajveer, as a matter of fact.

"Wo apko bohot pasand karte hain.",

she assures him.

"I know. But humein iss baat ka faida nahi uthana na Naina?",

smiles Rajveer, politely.

"Please mat jaiye...",

requests Naina again, trying her luck for the last time.

Sighing! Rajveer gives it a thought. He looks in front, at a walking distance is her home.

"Naveen mujhe bohot dantega agar maine ye kiya to!",

he says, nervous.

This makes Naina to burst into fit of laughter. But she feels shy too, as he mentions about her brother. After all this relationship with Rajveer... she would of course have felt shy in front of her brother!

Laughing, he says,

"Alright! Chalo!"

Naina's heart swells on getting his approval and she gets excited.

Together they reach her home.

Rajveer of course feels nervous about visiting her place after such a long time, that too with Naina!

RNHS Chapter 13

After the initial greetings, Rajveer and Naina settle down at the sitting area. Her parents notice how she chooses to sit next to Rajveer over sitting with one of her parents or letting them to sit with Rajveer.

No, she didn't seem to be excited about her sitting with Rajveer, nor was she upset about it. It happened involuntary, more like a reflex action. As if out of habit. When in academy they work as team - mentor and protge they usually stay together for the whole day long, hence she didn't realize how it must look like if done at her home; in front of her parents.

Rajveer on the other hand doesn't fail to notice this and his heart skips a beat. He widens his eyes and slowly turns to look towards Naina's parents. As he finds them staring at him already, he goes crimson red. Giving a shy and apologetic smile, he quickly lowers his eyes.

Laughing lovingly, Naina's father asks him,

"Aur batao beta...",

he pauses and asks,

"Main tumhe beta bula sakta hun na?",

and smiles apologetically and politely.

Naina's and Rajveer's hearts skip a beat each. Naina's smile vanishes immediately, as she could feel her father's dilemma. Rajveer's state was no better but being a master of communication and strategy, he didn't let his touched feeling to come on his face and hence make her parents all the more guilty about it.

Rajveer realizes that he needs to change the sudden tensed environment into a light one. Hence, instead of replying in a normal way saying 'ji', he chooses to reply a bit differently.

Smiling politely, he asks Naina's parents rather than reply,

"Agar Naina ki jagah aaj main Naveen ke saath yahan aata..."

The whole of Ahluwalia family goes numb and straightens up on hearing his words.

Rajveer does notice the sudden change in their attitude. And no denial he had already anticipated that, so it didn't come as a surprise for him.

"To kya aap tab bhi mujhse ye baat puchte?",

he asks, smiling lightly.

His words succeed in touching the hearts of Naina's parents. Their eyes brim with tears of love and admiration for Rajveer. They smile too at the same time. Their chest swells with pride on realizing that finally someone from the same academy which declared their son as traitor, is mentioning about their son with love, admiration, gratitude, respect.

In a state of numbness, the only thing Naina and Naveen's father could do is shake his head lightly, his eyes lowered and a smile of satisfaction, pride and love on his face. Naina's mother too gets emotional, but controls somehow.

Slowly, keeping a check on Naina's parents that they are not looking towards him, Rajveer turns his head a little towards Naina, and slowly raises his eyes to look towards her to know how is she feeling. He was sure his words must have affected her equally as it affected her parents.

Naina who was staring Rajveer with so much affection in her eyes for him, quickly lowers her eyes as his sudden stare comes as a surprise for her and she doesn't again look back towards him. But Rajveer waits for her to look back again, even if for some moments. But she doesn't, completely aware of the fact that his eyes are constant on her. Realizing that she won't look back, Rajveer gives up his hope and turns to look back towards her parents, smiling politely.

He realizes that he must leave now. He turns towards her parents and folding his hands into a namaste he says,

"Sir ab main chalta hun."

His sudden words come as a surprise for all of them. May be shock for Naina!

She stares him wide eye.

"Chalta hun?",

she asks, staring him throughout out of shock.

She couldn't elaborate in front of her parents. But she knows that he would understand her feelings.

Rajveer looks towards Naina. His heart clenches as he realizes how she must be feeling because he too is feeling same.

"Haan beta? Itni jaldi?",

asks Naina's father.

Tearing his gaze from Naina, Rajveer turns to look towards her father.

"Ji Sir wo... main yahan kisi kaam se aya tha actually, so ab main apki ijazzat chahunga.",

smiles Rajveer, politely.

Before Naina's father could say anything, Naina speaks up,

"Konsa kaam?"

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina, by her look he could make out how annoyed she must be right now. Rajveer decides instead of answering her, he should turn towards her parents and answer. He turns towards her parents and begins,

"Ji wo...",

but Naina intervenes,

"Mujhe dekh kar baat kijiye!",

looking straight towards Rajveer and her tone is serious, no nonsense type!

Her demanding demeanor comes as a surprise for all of them.

Rajveer looks towards her for some moments out of shock. He finds himself in an awkward situation. Then he again turns towards her parents, smiling a little, politely. Smiling, her parents gives him a polite understanding nod. On getting their permission, he again turns to look towards Naina,

"Naveen ke case se related."

This again comes as a surprise for her parents but not for Naina.

"I knew!",

she says, taking a deep breath, folding her arms over her chest.

Naina looks towards his folded hands, and orders him,

"Pehle ye haath neeche kijiye!"

It's then Rajveer realizes that he is still in the same position, his hand folded into a namaste. He feels stupid of himself. He quickly puts his hand down.

"Mujhe pehle hi shaq tha ke zarur apke dimag mein koi khurafat chal raha hoga jab apne kaha tha ke aap hi mujhe chorne jayenge. You didn't even let me to argue on that!",

she says, sternly.

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. He slowly looks towards her parents. How could she say all that in front of them? It's personal between Rajveer and Naina, for heavens sake!

"Naina...!!!",

Rajveer indicates her to stay quiet. After all it's their personal matter. He indicatates through his eyes about the presence of her parents there.

"Wo mere Ma Baba hain, it's okay.",

scolds Naina, loudly and clearly, looking straight into his eyes, with no hesitation.

This makes Rajveer all the more uncomfortable.

Naina's parents look towards each other, pursing their lips, controlling their amusement. Then turns to look towards Rajveer and Naina.

Rajveer gives up all his curtosy that he was showing till now. But then Naina is demanding that from him, he can't be blamed now if something wrong he does now. Nodding his head lightly thrice in quick succession, glaring Naina throughout, pissed off, Rajveer says,

"Fine!",

still trying to control his anger but glaring her.

"Pucho kya janna hai?",

asks Rajveer, fully in a mood to argue back.

Taking a deep breath, as if collecting all her anger and frustration towards him, Naina looking straight towards him, asks him,

"Jab apne mujhe kaha, no I am sorry, order diya ke aap bhi mere saath chalenge, mujhe yahan chorne, were you already clear about the fact that you would investigate about Bhaiya?"

"No!",

he says, plainly, looking straight into her eyes, in a no nonsense way.

This skips Naina's heartbeat. Her determination to ask further questions, shakes. Blush creeps on her face. She slowly lowers her eyes. Her heartbeat picks up pace.

Rajveer notices all that and finds it amusing! But he chooses to keep his feeling of amusement to himself.

Knitting his brows intentionally, to plaster a serious look on his face, he asks her,

"Ab kyun chup ho gayi?"

(Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Naina looks towards him. An apologetic smile creeps on her lips.

"Nahi... Nahi... Pucho... Pucho... I am sure you must be having a list to interrogate!",

he scolds and teases her both at the same time.

Standing at their places, Naina's parents enjoy witnessing their argument and they don't take any step to end it. They could feel that now there has been a thin line drawn between them and their daughter. And irony is that they don't feel bad about it at all. They rather feel relieved!

Now this time Naina indicates him about her parents' presence there. Rajveer who succeeds in understanding her indication, teases her loudly,

"Role reversal?"

The smirk on his face, does amazing things to Naina's inside. They realize that Naina's parents mustn't have understood the exchange that took place just now between them!

Naina keeps staring him, shyly.

Rajveer realizes that he needs to end this as it's awkward to be in such situation in front of Naina's parents, not only for him but for Naina too.

Whilst turning to look towards her parents, Rajveer says,

"Mujhe chota sa kaam hai, main kuch dino ki leave par yahan aya hun. Kuchi duri mein mere ek jaankar ka ghar hai, wohi rahunga. Agar Naina chahe to main jab jaunga tab mere saath academy wapas laut sakti hai. Aur agar usse aur rehna ho to wo bhi is okay.",

smiles Rajveer, politely, looking towards Naina's parents.

Her parents look towards each other.

"To beta iske liye tumhe kahin aur jane ki kya zarurat hai? Yahin rehlo na humare saath?",

suggests Naina's father, politely.

Rajveer and Naina turn serious, blushing.

Rajveer turns his head a little towards Naina, but doesn't look towards her openly, in front of her parents. He uses his peripheral vision to read her reaction to it. He could sense the sudden increase in the rate of her heartbeat. The way it is expanding and contracting at quick succession.

"Ji... main yahan kaise???",

asks Rajveer, hesitantly, looking towards Naina's father.

Her father smiles and patting Rajveer's face lovingly says,

"Tum bhi to humare liye Naveen jaise ho?"

Rajveer feels the patting of Naina's father, taking it as his blessing. After all not everyday he gets patted by a fatherly figure... a father!

Naina looks towards him sheepishly, worried to know his reaction to it. Hoping for a yes!

Rajveer doesn't look towards Naina this time, he rather looks towards Naveen's photo frame hanging on the wall. He stares him for sometime. All turn to look towards the direction Rajveer is looking. Their hearts swell Smiling, lowering their eyes, Naina's parents look back towards Rajveer. Waiting to know his decision. Naina too looks towards him, a bit nervously.

"Theek hai! Main yahan rukne ke liye...",

he accepts finally, he looks towards Naina, through the corner of his eyes and completes,

"Taiyar hun!!!"

(Rajveer-Naina's flute tune begins)

Naina's heart flutters with joy.

Rajveer through the corner of his eyes notices the expansion and contraction of Naina's chest in quick succession.

Her state of shyness and nervousness, doesn't escape Rajveer's eyes.

Naina's parents smile wide on hearing that.

"Ahmm... beta tum thak gaye hoge. Kuch der aram karna chahte ho?",

asks Naina's mother, lovingly.

"Ahmm... Ji nahi aunty actually main pehle ek baar wo kaam khatam kar lena chahta hun. To... Agar aap bura na mane to main abhi ijaazat chahunga. But kaam khatam hote hi wapas aa jaunga.",

smiles Rajveer.

"Theek hai beta. Jaisi tumhari ichha.",

smiles Naina's mother.

"Kuch kha to lo?",

she asks, politely.

"Ahmm... Main akar khata hun. Aap log please kha lijiyega agar mujhe aney mein der ho jaye to.",

says Rajveer, politely.

"Theek hai.",

smiles Naina's mother.

"But before that... I would like to use the washroom.",

says Rajveer, smiling.

"Oh haan sure.",

says Naina's father.

He was about to take him towards the washroom that his phone rings. He asks Naina to show Rajveer the washroom. Naina's mother goes to the kitchen leaving behind Rajveer and Naina alone.

Rajveer and Naina look towards each other, hesitantly. So many thoughts; so many feelings surface their hearts with in seconds.

Naina could feel her ears emitting heat, out of nervousness.

She shows him the washroom attached to her room.

While he uses the washroom, Naina sits on one of the edges of her bed and feels the fact that Rajveer is in her room. She blushes profusely, thinking so.

Rajveer catches her off guard, blushing, as he exits the washroom.

He looks towards Naina, smiling quizzically.

Naina's smile vanishes out of nervousness, she gets up quickly and walks up past him, never looking towards him out of shyness, saying,

"Main abhi aati hun."

Rajveer understands her state and doesn't stop her. He shakes his head, laughing secretly.

He was about to leave the room that a thought enters his mind. He looks towards the place of bed where Naina sat moments ago. His heartbeat picks up pace as he decides to do what he has in mind. It sounds to him childish and stupid. But he realizes he has never done that before and at this particular moment, he is desperate to do! Hence, not giving it a second thought, for once he decides to do his heart's desire.

Reaching the bed, where she had been sitting moments ago, he rubs his hand over it, smiling lovingly, cherishing her presence there.

"Arey Rajveer beta!",

Naina's father's sudden voice, skips his heartbeat and he almost loses his balance.

"Ji... Ji Sir?",

he says, nervously, still not looking towards Naina's father.

"Kuch gir gaya hai kya wahan?",

asks Naina's father, as he discovers Rajveer rotating his hand on the bed.

Before he could say anything, her father adds,

"Koi baat nahi, Naina saaf kar degi."

Rajveer widens his eyes, as Naina's father's words skip his heartbeat. The thought that what would happen if Naina comes to know what he was doing, drains the blood out of his face!

"Nahi... Nahi Sir... Kuch nahi hua... Everything is fine Sir...!",

Rajveer says, rather clumsily, thinking about Naina's reaction.

Naina happens to reach the room at that moment.

"Kya hua?",

she asks the gentlemen, knitting her brows.

"Koi problem hai?",

she asks.

"Nahi wo beta...",

her father begins to explain, dragging Naina's attention.

A terrified Rajveer gets up and reaches them immediately and intervenes,

"Nahi... Nahi Naina... Koi problem nahi hai.",

and plasters a smile on his face, looking straight towards Naina.

Naina finds it weird.

Rajveer realizes that to escape this situation he needs to escape from this house.

"Ahmmm... Main... Main chalta hun Sir.",

he asks for his leave.

"Theek hai beta.",

smiles Naina's father.

Naina stares him, knitting her brows, something is up with him, she realizes.

Rajveer nervously looks towards her. Naina still fails to understand what's the matter and chooses to leave the topic.

She gestures secretly that the second button of his shirt is also undone. Rajveer follows her gesture and finds his button undone. Feeling shy in front of her father, he quickly does the button. Smiling, he leaves.

His father returns back to his room.

Naina walks with him to the door.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina piano key tune begins)

Naina walking a little behind him, wonders how to say what she wants to say.

Rajveer walking ahead, also falls in a dilemma about what should he say at this situation?

He doesn't understand what's get into him, he smiles naughtily and undoes the button again. And turns on purpose, greeting Naina,

"Ok Naina, baad mein milte hain. Bye!"

Naina looks up towards him, whilst saying,

"Jaldi...",

the sight in front of her makes her to go numb all of a sudden.

He usually keeps the collar button undone, she knows that. This one is additional!

"Apka button...",

she points towards his button, hesitantly.

"Hmm... What about it?",

asks Rajveer, looking towards his button but acting to be oblivious of what she wants to say.

"Aap... do (2) buttons nahi khol kar rakhte!",

Naina tells him.

Rajveer, looking towards her, knitting his brows, as if this little piece of information is a surprise for him, asks

"Really?"

Naina takes a deep breath out of anger, glaring him.

Rajveer purses his lips, realizing her state.

"What do you mean really? Ye baat apko pata honi chahiye ya mujhe?",

she scolds him, keeping her voice under check, aware of the presence of her parents at home.

"Being my point!",

says Rajveer, indicating with his right hand's index finger.

"Ye baat to mujhe pata honi chahiye. Tumhe kaise pata?",

he asks her, teasingly, staring her throughout, smiling infectiously.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins as Rajveer stares a nervous and blushing Naina)

"Itna dhyan deti ho mujh par?",

he asks, lowering his voice.

Naina's cheeks start warming.

"Ye tha distraction tumhara?",

he asks her.

This skips Naina's heartbeat and increases her blush.

"Hmmm??",

he prompts, softly, lovingly.

Naina realizes that she needs to stop this, it's her home after all.

Looking towards him, she asks,

"Apko der nahi ho rahi?"

Rajveer understands that she doesn't want to answer, out of shyness.

Smiling, he arches a brow. Staring her throughout he buttons up the second button.

"Aur kuch?",

he asks after doing that.

Naina looks towards him, transmitting all her feelings for him through her eyes.

"Jaldi ayiyega.",

she says softly.

"Aap jane dengi to zarur aa jaunga jaldi.",

teases Rajveer.

They stare each other.

Turning, Rajveer leaves.

~*~*~

After few hours it turns dark and starts raining heavily. Naina stands by the window, her back inclined against left wall at the window side, her right arm resting under the left erected arm, and left hand playing with her chain unconsciously. Looking out at the heavily dripping water, she sileny prays for Rajveer's safe return.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina's piano key tune begins)

"Naina, maine khana utar diya hai gas par se. Ab jaise hi Rajveer ata hai to hum kha lenge.",

says Naina's mother, coming out of the kitchen.

"Hmm...",

replies Naina, unconsciously, her mind on Rajveer.

Naina's mother reaches her. Rotating her hand on Naina's head, she tells her lovingly,

"Tu chinta mat kar wo aa jayega jaldi."

Naina looks towards her mother and smiles. They both understand how much Rajveer means to both of them.

"Main aur tere Baba kuch der aram kar lete hain. Wo jaise hi aye humein utha diyo, fir saath mein dinner karenge.",

smiles Naina's mother.

"Ma, aap aur Baba dinner karlo na, main unke liye wait kar lungi. Waise bhi mujhe bhook nahi hai abhi.",

suggests Naina.

"Nahi beta. Khana to hum Rajveer ke saath hi khayenge.",

says her father, entering the living area, removing his spectacles.

Her mother smiles too.

"Haan beta mera bhi mann nahi karega apne bete ke bina khane ka.",

says her mother.

Naina's eyes brim with tears of joy.

She hugs her mother. Her mother hugs her back lovingly.

Then she hugs her father, he too reciprocates the same gesture.

Doing so, they leave for their room.

After few hours Naina through the window discovers him returning back. It still hasn't stopped raining. In fact the velocity of rain has increased.

Before he could press the bell, Naina pulls the door open for him.

Rajveer's heart skips a beat at the sudden opening of the door.

They keep staring each other.

(Rajveer-Naina slow piano key tune begins)

Naina holding him by his left wrist pulls him in.

Closing the door behind him, she asks him to sit on one of the chairs of dining table.

"Tum soyi nahi?",

he asks, rather too loudly.

"Shhh...",

Naina indicates him to keep his voice low, placing her index finger on her lips, widening her eyes.

Rajveer lipses 'sorry'!

Naina shakes her head.

Naina turns to go back into her room, that Rajveer suddenly holds her wrist. This skips Naina's heartbeat and blush creeps on her face. She turns to know why did he do that!

"Kahan ja rahi ho?",

asks Rajveer, keeping his voice low. His forehead bearing lines of tension.

"Main abhi...",

before she could complete her line, Rajveer intervenes, scolding her,

"Main tabse intezaar kar raha tha ke main kab ghar pohnchun aur tumhare saath time spend karun. Aur ab jab main aa gaya hun, aur abhi koi hai bhi nahi humein disturb karne ke liye, to tum ja rahi ho?" ,

Rajveer stares her, disappointed.

"Bilkul patience nahi hai na aap mein? Towel lene ja rahi hun. Geele hue hue hain aap. Baal sukhane ke liye. Uske baad aap change kar lena.",

scolds Naina.

Rajveer feels guilty and blushes.

His smiles swells Naina's heart, but she keeps her angry look intact.

Naina again turns to leave, Rajveer again holds her hand.

(Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

He stares her possessively, smiling naughtily. Naina tries to pull her hand free of his hold, but fails of course.

Naina tries again but fails.

"Chodiye koi aa jayega.",

scolds Naina, lovingly.

Rajveer laughs noiselessly and leaves her.

Shaking her head, blushing, Naina leaves.

Soon she reaches with the towel and forwards it to him.

Rajveer ignores taking it from her. He rather taking a deep breath, relaxes back on the chair closing his eyes.

Naina knits her brows initially, wondering why did he behave that way?

Then suddenly her expression changes, her heart skips a beat as she realizes what does he wants!!

She looks towards her parent's room nervously, and finds it closed.

She looks back towards a relaxed Rajveer.

Lowering her eyes, biting her lips to calm down her nerves, she says in a low voice, hesitantly,

"Please... Ma Baba aa gaye to?"

Rajveer still sitting in the same position opens his eyes.

Naina who was feeling shy, standing with her head bowed didn't realize that in case he opens his eyes, the first thing his eyes will meet is her eyes!!! And as it does happen, her heart skips a beat!!! Making her go red out of shyness.

This makes Rajveer to laugh, as he realizes that she didn't realize this coming! She didn't use her brain out of nervousness!!!

Getting normal Rajveer asks,

"Aur Ma Baba nahi aye to? Won't it be exciting?",

his voice shows his excitement.

Naina narrows her eyes on him. This makes Rajveer to laugh.

They keep staring each other. They are at this moment in such a position like - Rajveer resting his head against the chair, his face facing the ceiling and Naina is standing behind his chair, her face bend on his face!

"Paas aao!",

he whispers, all serious, never looking away from Naina.

Naina feeling extremely shy, shakes her head into negative and could only manage to say,

"Please..."

But try how hard she might, but she fails to depart herself from him. His constant gaze does amazing things to her insides. She realizes that today the velocity of the feeling is more than other times as they are isolated and in Naina's home, their home!

"Paas aao Naina...",

he demands again.

"Koi aa jayega...",

says Naina again, nervously.

"Isliye bol raha hun, jaldi aao!",

he replies back, all serious.

Naina finally submits to his demand.

She bends a little into him.

"Aur paas...",

he whispers, now that she is closer to him, it's easily audible to her.

Naina's legs start turning jelly.

She slowly gets more into him.

As her cheek reaches near to his left cheek, he turns his face a little towards right such that his left cheek rubs against her right cheek!

It's the first time Naina feels how his cheek feels like when rubbed against hers!

She hisses,

"...Chhh..."

Her heart beating at a tremendous speed.

Rajveer could feel her cheek warming up more because of her blush than because of the friction his and her cheeks are creating.

He shifts a little in his seat to change the position a little, that Naina, stops him, whispering,

"Aur nahi please... Mujhe bohot darr lag raha hai."

Rajveer understands her situation. Smiling politely, he accepts her decision.

She quickly wipes off his wet hair, something he enjoys dearly.

Having completed with that she gets away and says,

"Aap change kar lijiye. Main khana lagati hun. Ma Baba ne bhi khana nahi khaya, unhe bhi utha deti hun."

"Kya Ma Baba khana nahi khaya?",

asks Rajveer, sitting straight, knitting his brows, all serious.

His addressing them as Ma Baba, swells Naina's heart.

"Ahmmm... Maine bola tha unhe kha lene ko. Par wo apke saath hi khana chahte the.",

says Naina.

Rajveer closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He looks towards Naveen, smiling, he shakes his head, as if telling him - 'now I know what is your family like!'

Smiling, sighing, he gets up and walks towards their room.

He slowly pushes it open and finds them awake already.

"Aap log jage hue hain, to bahar kyun nahi ayein?",

he asks them, surprised.

Naina gets surprised too.

"Hum bus abhi abhi jagey hain beta. Ho gaya kaam tumhara?",

smiles Naina's father.

Rajveer smiles, awkwardly.

"I am sorry meri wajah se aap logo ka dinner bhi late ho gaya. Par aap logo ne kha kyun nahi liya? Main abhi Naina se yahi bol raha tha.",

says Rajveer.

"Beta akele akele kha kha kar dil ubh gaya hai. Socha sub mil kar hi khate hain. Aur humein koi pareshani nahi hui. Ab to Naina academy mein hi rehti hai. To humara khana aise hi kabhi bhi ho jata hai. Jab mann kiya kha liya.",

says Naina's mother.

Rajveer looks towards her and says,

"Nahi Aunty, khana to aap logo ko time par khana chahiye. Health ke saath koi mazak nahi hona chahiye. Apke dono bache army se belong karte hain, at least aap logo ko to ye baat samjhni chahiye? Discipline in food hours?",

asks Rajveer, knitting his brows, scolding them mildly.

Naina stands at her place, next to Rajveer, not daring to intervene when he is using that strict tone of his.

Naina's parents look towards each other, smiling lightly. Then looking back towards Rajveer, they rectify him in unison,

"Dono nahi teeno!"

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

And they look towards both Rajveer
and Naina; and then towards Naveen's picture.

Their words come as a surprise for Rajveer, he goes numb and lowers his eyes.

Naina's mother spreads her arms for him. Rajveer's eyes turn teary. The same happens with the remaining three too. Rajveer looks towards Naina. Naina understands that at this moment he needs her encouragement, roles reversal again!
Rajveer finally hugs Naveen's; Naina's and his mother, pouring all his love for her through the hug.

Together they all reach dining table for dinner.

Naina's mother was about to go to the kitchen when Naina stops her saying,

"Ma! Tum rehne do, main karti hun serve. Tum baitho aram se."

Naina's father and Rajveer smiles on Naina's gesture.

"Meera, humari beti wakayi badi ho gayi hai. Shadi wadi ke barey mein sochna padhega ab, mujhe lagta hai?",

teases Naina's father, looking towards Naina and Rajveer, through the corner of his eyes.

"Hmm... Waise baat to aap sahi keh rahe hain!",

says Naina's mother.

Naina feels shy and leaves for the kitchen.

Rajveer blushes too.

This makes the parents to laugh.

Soon all of them settle down on the dining table for dinner. Naina becomes the last to sit, after serving all.

"Waise mujhe nahi pata tha ke Cadet Naina...",

begins Rajveer, teasing her openly about something but as he reaches these words, Naina looks towards him in shock. Widening her eyes, she shakes her head into negative, indicating him to not address her as - Cadet Naina Ah Singh in front of her parents.

Rajveer enjoys her state of nervousness, and a smile comes on his face. Taking pity on her, he says,

"Cadet Naina ko banduk uthane ke alawa ghar ke kaam karne bhi aate hain."

He completes looking towards Naina seductively. Naina blushes and shakes her head into negative in slow succession, staring him throughout. Rajveer laughs silently.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Never looking away from her, he asks,

"Waise kya aap logo ne apni beti ko ek aam ladki ki tarah... saree pehne hue dekha hai??"

Naina's state of shock and blush knows no bounds on hearing his words.

(Rajveer-Naina fast tune begins)

"Kahan beta? Main to taras gayi hun isse saree pehne hue dekhne ke liye.",

says her mother sadly.

Naina's heartbeat picks up pace.

Slapping the table with both his hands in unison, he turns towards Naina's mother, the sudden sound skips the heartbeats of all present there. As Rajveer realizes this, blushing, he apologizes,

"Sorry..."

All smile. Naina shakes her head.

"To kyun na apki manokamna aaj, yahan, issi waqt puri kar di jaye?",

asks Rajveer, teasingly, arching a brow, looking towards Naina's parents.

Naina stares him in disbelief.

"Nahi... Aap... Aap chup rahiye...!",

scolds a nervous Naina.

All turn to look towards Naina.

"Naina... Ye tum kaise baat kar rahi ho Rajveer se?",

scolds her father.

Naina lowers her eyes out of hesitation.

Rajveer with a naughty smile on his face, looks towards Naina.

Then he again plasters a serious face, remembering the presence of her parents.

"Dekha na uncle, kaise baat karti hai ye mujhse jab gusse mein hoti hai?",

he acts to be innocent.

Naina stares him in utter disbelief. This man knows no bounds!!!

"Naina...",

her father gives her a stern look.

Naina stares him, shocked.

"Kya??",

she asks, gesturing with her hand.

"Aap mere Baba hai ya inke?",

she asks, pissed off.

Rajveer enjoys witnessing her state of anger and purses his lips to control his fit of laughter.

"Mere!",

Rajveer dares to reply.

Naina glares him.

Stomping her foot out of anger, she says,

"Fine...!"

And as she does that, the cloud roars loudly.

Rajveer looks out sitting at his place.

"Dekho Naina tumne itna gussa dikhaya ki badal hi darr gaye!",

says Rajveer, shielding his humor behind it, perfectly.

This makes her parents to laugh.

The rain pours heavily outside.

Glaring him one last time, when he too looks towards her, but lovingly, Naina leaves for her room in order to wear saree.

Before she could reach her room the electricity fails.

"Ohhoo...",

says Naina's mother.

"Mausam aisa hai na to bijli to jani hi thi.",

says her father.

"Kitna sannata aur andhera ho gaya hai.",

says her father.

"Meera jao jakar candles le aao."

"Main... Main leta hun uncle.",

volunteers Rajveer.

"Arey rehne do beta. Tumhe ghar ka naksha nahi pata. Meera kone kone se wakif hai. Andhere mein bhi raasta dhundh legi.",

smiles Naina's father.

"Haan beta, Naina ke Baba bilkul theek keh rhe hain. Tum rehne do.",

says her mother.

Rajveer smiles, though Naina's parents remain oblivious to his smile because of the darkness. He says,

"Aap ek soldier se baat kar rahi hain aunty. Hum soldiers ki pehle adat ye hoti hai ke jahan jaye wahan ka kona kona apni ankhon se scan karlein."

Smiling, he assures them,

"Aap fikr mat kijiye, main apna raasta dhund lunga."

And he does get the road to the kitchen, of course with the help of mobile torch. He searches for the candle. He finally succeeds in getting the candle, igniting it, he turns to leave for the sitting area that the loud thunder storm reminds him of Naina. Is she fine?

He instead of walking towards the sitting area, walks towards Naina's room.

He knocks lightly and calls her out,

"Naina??"

"Ji...",

comes Naina's instant reply.

"Are you fine?",

asks Rajveer.

Naina walks closer to the door and in a low voice asks him,

"Kya aap akele hain?"

Rajveer turns behind to make sure that he indeed is alone. With the help of the candle he checks and replies to Naina,

"Haan!"

"Mujhe saree pehnne mein problem aa rahi hai. Aap Ma ko bhej denge zara?",

says Naina.

Rajveer slaps his forehead! In fraction of seconds his mind had wandered to so many places. He finds himself to be stupid of having thought all that. He blushes on realizing his stupidity.

"Andhera bhi hai, filhal to main waise bhi theek se pehn nahi paungi. And the problem is I am half done with it. Mujhe samjh nahi aa raha ke pehnu ya utar dun!",

says Naina in dilemma.

As she utters those words, she holds her tongue in between her teeth, realizing the blooper.

"I... I mean, pehnu ya change kar lun?",

she shuts her eyes tightly, feeling thoroughly embarrassed at her stupidity.

Rajveer on the other hand on hearing her words -

'Mujhe samjh nahi aa raha ke pehnu ya utar dun!',

gets shocked initially. But soon a naughty smile creeps on his face.

He on purpose repeats her words,

"Waise Naina I guess since andhera hai so tumhe dono mein se jo bhi karogi thodi problem ho sakti hai. So agar tum kaho to main aa jaun help karne? Pehnane mein ya... utarne...",

he says naughtily.

Naina gets shocked to hear his words. Her heartbeat picks up pace.

"Aap... Hum...",

she fails to create a proper sentence.

Rajveer laughs secretly.

Just to tease her, he adds,

"Humara...!!!"

Saying so he purses his lips.

Naina blushes harder.

"Aap... Aap jaiye yahan se... Mujhe apki madad ki zarurat nahi.",

scolds Naina.

"Pakka?",

teases Rajveer, hiding his amusement.

But Naina realizes it anyways.

"Ji haan pakka. Ab jaiye yahan se!",

she shows her fake anger.

"Okay as you wish!",

says Rajveer.

And everything goes quiet.

For moments Naina stays quiet, trying to feel that he really has left. Then just to make sure, she asks, slowly, doubtfully,

"Aap hain?"

"Ji haan bilkul hun!",

he says with full confidence.

Naina's heart skips a beat. She places her hand on her chest calming her heartbeat down.

Rajveer laughs understanding her state.

Naina glares him, although aware that he can't see her. She actually feels glad about it because the state she is in, she doesn't want him to see her!! Or does she?? - the thought makes her to blush!!

Naina realizes she really needs someone's help. She considers asking his help. Then suddenly she remembers and asks,

"Aap... Apko kya pata hai saree ke barey mein? Aap apne books aur rifles aur bombs and all se bahar aye bhi honge I wonder!"

Rajveer arches a brow, smiling.

Acting to be hurt and angry, Rajveer says,

"Naina ab tum mujhe underestimate kar rahi ho. Hato ab to main tumhe dikha kar rahunga ke Rajveer kis khet ki muli hai."

Naina who wasn't aware that he had been holding a candle in his hand and hence wouldn't dare to barge into her room, opens the door of the room, fearing that all that would create a lot of noise.

Peeping from behind the door as she opens it, she looks towards Rajveer, hesitantly. Her face bear no smile. Rather he could feel her nervousness. He understands that it's because of her current state and his presence there.

The candle light is the only source of light for them. Rajveer sees her face and feels the candle light is making her to look all the more beautiful. His heartbeat picks up pace as he finds this situation intimate.

Naina stares him hesitantly. She whispers,

"Ma Baba nahi aa rahe na?"

Rajveer shakes his head into negative, smiling.

"Ahmm... Naina gimme two minutes I'll help you with this. Main bus ye candle unhe de aun?",

smiles Rajveer, politely.

Naina nods her head into positive.

Smiling, he leaves.

Reaching the dining area he sets the candle and says,

"Ahmm... Naina bhi abhi aati hi hogi. Main uske room mein candle de kar aata hun. Aap log please dinner shuru kar dijiye. Waise hi bohot late ho gaya hai.",

smiles Rajveer politely.

"Beta iss andhere mein ab khana kaise khaya jayega?",

says Naina's mother, sadly.

Rajveer smiles sadly, understanding the situation.

"Waise main Naina ko dekh kar aati hun.",

saying so, Naina's mother was about to get up that Rajveer says,

"Wo... Wo shayad washroom gayi hai. Darasal andhere ki wajah se wo... wo... saree to nahi pehn payi. Maine usse candle de diya hai. Shayad abhi wo washroom mein hai. Wo aa jayegi.",

smiles Rajveer, nervously.

"Acha... Theek hai.",

says her mother, and takes her seat back.

Sighing in relief Rajveer leaves.

Reaching the kitchen he searches for more candles and luckily finds a whole new packet of candles. Smiling, he quickly ignites them all and putting them on a plate, carries the plate to Naina's room.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Rajveer enters Naina's room carrying the plate of candles. Naina quickly covers herself with the saree.

Rajveer stares her, transmitting all his feelings for her through his eyes. Naina's heartbeat picks up pace as she succeeds in understanding all his feelings perfectly.

Rajveer places the plate carrying the candles on a side table and turning back, he walks towards the door and locks it.

Thereafter, he places each of the ten candles he had been carrying, on several corners of the room, hence igniting the room.

Naina's face glows as she likes the transformation of the room. She giggles like a small child. For those particular moments she forgets her state!

Rajveer turns to look towards her, his look intense on her.

As Naina looks towards him, his possessive gaze, makes her giggle to vanish and she could feel the adrenaline rush.

Reaching her, he pulls the little part of her saree that she had tugged into her petticoat, in such a manner, as if raping her, never looking away from her eyes. His stare holds her stare, not letting her to look away. But raping and Rajveer, although the initial letter are same, can never be placed in the same sentence together!

Naina feels extremely shy but doesn't protest. Her inside twitches. The fact that she can't lower her eyes, suffocates her. Unable to control her feelings any longer, she finally lowers her eyes.

Rajveer smiles witnessing shy Naina.

Walking closer to her, he starts wrapping the saree around her, tugging it, circling it around her waist. He doesn't make any attempt to touch her skin. Nor does he try to wander his eyes on her exposed body parts. In that way he remains a true gentleman.

Naina shuts her eyes, feeling too shy to witness this, his teasing look.

Rajveer walks closer to her and whispers into her ears,

"Tumne haq diya hai Naina! Tumhare gharwalon ne haq diya hai! Mere gharwalon ne haq diya hai! Haq se kar raha hun!"

Unable to control herself any longer, Naina with her eyes still closed hugs him tightly.

"Ab koi deewar nahi Naina! Ab koi rok nahi!!",

whispers Rajveer, embracing her into a tight hug.

"Car mein apne juzzbaaton ko rok raha tha, majbur tha! Ab koi majburi nahi!!!",

he whispers.

Hearing it Naina smiles and hugs him to her all the more.

As they end the hug, Rajveer scolds her lightly, asking,

"Kya keh rahi thi tum Ma Baba ke samne? Ke tumhe pehle se shaq tha ke mere dimag mein koi khurafatiyan chal rahi hongi?"

Naina blushes hearing that.

"Bohot janne lagi ho mujhe Cadet Naina Ah Singh!",

he teases, tracing her right side face line with his right index finger.

Naina closes her eyes, feeling his touch.

"Distraction ko saath lane ka nateeja dekh liya?",

teases Rajveer.

Naina breathing heavily, stares him intimately. Rajveer smiles seductively, enjoying her look.

Rajveer realizes how vulnerable she is turning with each passing moment.

She tries to launch on to him, but he stops her, holding her hands,

"Ah... Ah... Itne dino se mujhe tadpa rahi thi na chup reh kar? Ab tum tadpo, meri duri seh kar.",

teases Rajveer.

Naina stares him, her heart beating at a tremendous speed. Before he could say something further, Naina launches on him again, getting hold of his lips. Not that Rajveer was not ready. He in fact was ready for her attack. He accepted her kiss graciously. And returns it back to her with full fervor.

Closing their eyes, they enjoy feeling each other's lips, tongue. Tasting each other. As for Rajveer he doesn't only tastes but tests her too! He increases the fervor slowly, Naina takes it graciously. Here goes the first tick in Rajveer's mind! He slowly pulls her hair, lightly. She accepts that too without making any sound. Here's the second tick. He then takes his hand towards her right breast. As she feels his hand on it, she pushes it away.

Never do they stop with their on going work.

Her declining of his touch, sends adrenaline rush inside Rajveer. To make her understand that he didn't really like her refusal, he pinches her lightly on her exposed waist. The sudden pinch comes as a surprise for Naina and hence makes her to moan.

The darkness makes her sound audible all the more. As she moans, Rajveer massages her back to calm her down. The massage creates its magic and succeeds in doing its job.

Soon they get away from each other, breathing heavily.

Calming themselves down, their foreheads touching. Rajveer opens his eyes, smiling and asks,

"Chalein?"

Naina shakes her head into positive, maintaining the same position.

Rajveer leaves her and turns to walk, that she pulls him back and hugs him again, tightly.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

"My first couldn't have been better than this!",

she whispers.

Rajveer understands what first is she talking about. Smiling, he tightens his hold on her.

"Ditto!",

he smiles.

Naina blushes.

"Ab agar Ma Baba se pehli dant nahi khani ek saath, to chalein?",

jokes Rajveer, smiling.

Naina blushes and nods her head into affirmative.

As they reach their parents, Rajveer was about to say something, that Naina intervenes,

"Sorry Baba, kuch saaman gir gaya tha room mein. Bus ussi ko sametne mein time lag gaya."

Their parents don't mind.

Finally together they enjoy their candle light dinner.

RNHS Chapter 14

As they wrap up with their dinner, the electricity returns. This makes them to laugh - perfect timing.

Naina helps her mother to clear the dishes from the dining table.

Rajveer and Naina's father settle down at the sitting area, facing each other, sitting opposite to each other.

Naina and her mother comes out of the kitchen and finds the gentlemen indulged in some conversation, laughing.

The ladies smile seeing that.

The gents look up towards the ladies, smiling.

"Kya baat hai bohot hansna ho raha hai?",

says Naina's mother, smiling.

"Tumhe to mere jokes samjh aate nahi. Socha Raj bete se share karke dekhun. Usse samjh aa raha hai!",

laughs Naina's father.

The statement itself makes all of them to laugh.

"Rehne dijiye. Mujhe samjh aate hain jokes. Bus apke hi nahi atey. Pata nahi kahan kahan se latey hain chutkule.",

says Naina's mother.

And hence Naina's parents indulge into light hearted argument.

Whilst all this, Rajveer looks towards a happy Naina, standing in front of him. Rajveer is sitting on the sofa, such that his arm is stretched at the left backside of the sofa.

Naina on feeling his eyes on her, looks towards him.

Rajveer stares her lovingly, and pats lightly on the left backside of the sofa, indicating her to sit next to him.

Naina gets nervous and shakes her head into negative, indicating towards her parents through her eyes.

Rajveer softens his eyes, requesting her through his expression.

Naina makes sure that her parents are not noticing and slowly walks to the sofa, taking her seat next to him. Rajveer witnessing her reaching him, holding his breath and releases the breath he had been holding when she settles down with him.

Rajveer smiles looking towards her parents who are now indulged into another conversation.

Naina, sitting next to him feels utterly shy. Her constant expansion and contraction of chest at a tremendous speed, Rajveer does notice.

Tilting his head a little towards her, while his face is still towards her parents, his eyes on them to make sure that they don't catch them in this situation, he mummers to her,

"Slow down Naina..."

Now blushes all the more, but there is no smile on her face, in fact the blush is out of nervousness.

"You too...",

she retorts.

This makes Rajveer to laugh silently. He understands what she is pointing towards - his teasing her!

Seeing him laughing Naina blushes all the more shutting her eyes tightly.

"Jab apko kuch kaam nahi tha to bulaya kyun mujhe yahan?",

Naina mummers, frustrated.

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina, knitting his brows and asks,

"Hmm...?? Kaam?? Kya kaam?"

Naina glares him, her rate of heartbeat increased.

"Mere saath yahan khali jagah thi, to socha tumhe bula lun!",

he says knitting his brows, acting to be confused about her words.

Naina takes a deep breath out of frustration.

Rajveer purses his lips, controlling his fit of laughter.

"Waise Naina ek baat batao, tumhe yahan mere paas bitha kar main kya kaam kar lunga?",

asks Rajveer, acting to be innocent.

Naina glares him again.

"Galti ki maine yahan aa kar...",

saying so she was about to get up, that Rajveer tells her sternly,

"Jana mat!"

Naina's heart skips a beat on realizing the seriousness in his tone. She submits to his demand without saying anything further.

Rajveer indulges into a conversation with Naina's parents.

Naina relaxes all the more sitting at her place. She gradually realizes how beautiful and heartwarming feeling it is - sitting next to him and just sitting... She realizes his deep emotions hidden behind this simple and sweet gesture. A smile stretches on her lips on realizing that.

~*~*~

On the other hand at the academy. Alekh finally gets the privilege to have his dinner.

All his friends stare him while he enjoys his dinner.

"Kya tum sub apun ko aise kyun dekh rele ho?",

asks Alekh, still pissed off, knitting his brows.

"Dekh raha hun Qaidi ke tu Qaidi se Alekh banta ja raha hai!",

teases Huda.

Alekh halts with his process of having his food and stares him, knitting his brows all the more,

"Boley to?"

"Oye missed call, humse kon share karega khana?",

asks Pooja, scolding him mildly.

"Ji Alekh bhai. Jahan tak hum jante hain to jail mein to sub ek dusre se mil baant kar khate hain. Khana kam diya jata hai na to sub sang khaye to khana bhi badh jata hai aur pyar ki bhavna bhi bani rehti hai.",

smiles Ali.

Alekh glares Ali and his angry young man tone asks him,

"A Usool, jail mein tu raha hai ke apun?"

Ali gets a little scared and straightens up,

"Arey Alekh bhai aap to gussa ho gaye."

"Ek to subah se apun ka dimag garam hai. Upar se Naina bhi nahi hai gussa nikalne ke liye!",

mummers Alekh.

"Kya? Abey Qaidi tujhe Naina gussa nikalne ke liye chahiye?",

asks Huda, shocked.

"Nahi apun usko apne samne bitha kar uski aarti utarega.",

says a pissed of Alekh.

"Aur tu ghanti baja lio!",

he scolds further.

"What a scene man!!!",

says Yudi in a dreamy voice, visualizing the scene.

This irritates Alekh all the more. He picks up a food item and was about to throw it on Yudi that Yudi notices him and quickly getting scared, putting his hands forward, says,

"Na..Nahi... Nahi..."

Alekh puts it down.

All laugh except Alekh and Yudi.

Alekh resumes with having his food. All his friends look towards him lovingly.

They head towards their rooms for sleeping.

As Alekh pushes the door open of his room after having a tiring day, another shock welcomes him! He finds a bed prepared on the floor. His eyes then wanders to his bed which doesn't contain no mattress, cushion, or bedsheet, nothing.

Alekh knits his brows and shouts,

"Orderly! Orderly!"

Orderly reaches him, running.

Glaring him, he points out towards the arrangement and asks him,

"Kya hai ye?"

"Ji wo... Captain Rajveer ke orders the ke aap yahin soyein.",

says the orderly.

This comes as yet another shock for Alekh. He finds himself in a utterly pissed off state.

He finds himself in a dilemma. Had it been someone else in place of Captain Rajveer doing all that, he would have surely taught that teacher a lesson in his own style. But with Captain Rajveer, it's different! How much might Alekh be angry on Captain Rajveer, but he can never swear on him. This he does, not out of fear but out of extreme respect for Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat! Just like if Naina scolds him; say anything to him; fight with him; he would never hurt her; scold her back with a motive to hurt, same is the case with Captain Rajveer!

"Goooddd...",

Yudi stops abruptly on witnessing the transformation of the room.

"What? Ye kya hua?",

asks he, shocked.

Alekh storms out of the room with answering. Yudi turns to look towards retreating Alekh, stunned! Ali who manages to understand everything, pats Yudi on his shoulder, Yudi turns to look towards him,

"Rajveer Sir!",

smiles Ali.

And that one word makes Yudi to realize! He turns back to look towards the bed, shocked.

Alekh walks through the corridor out of anger and gets collided with Huda.

"Abey Qaidi...",

Huda turns to say further, but discovers that he is not listening to him at all. He notices the angry look on Alekh's face and the way he is storming towards god knows what! Huda stares him shocked!!!

~*~*~

The phone call distracts Rajveer. He checks the number and was about to get up that Naina stops him by placing a hand on his thigh, her eyes on her parents to make sure they don't catch her in that position.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina piano key tune begins)

Rajveer looks towards her knitting his brows to know why did she stop him.

Naina feeling his eyes on her, never looking away from her parents, asks him softly,

"Apne to mujhse kaha tha ke main kahin na jaun, ab aap khud hi mujhe chor kar ja rahe hain?"

Her these words bring a smile on his face as they remind him of the time when...

*Flashback*

"Par Sir, mujhey dance step kon sikhayega?"

"Suriji to lagta hai, bhool hi gaye hain!",

she continues.

"Apne mera haath thama tha..., aur ab aap bhi ja rahe hain?"

Her these words don't fail to affect him. Not that her previous words fell into deaf ears. No, Rajveer can never ignore her for anything! But these words did have the utmost affect on him. The words with double meanings!

Turning, he looks towards her, all serious. His silence breaks Naina's heart a bit. She holds her breath and waits for him to react, may be scold her more! He walks a step closer to her. Naina lowers her eyes.

Suddenly to her utter surprise, he jumps a small step like they do before starting a dance; his face bearing a smile and his eyes twinkling. All of these gestures of his come as a surprise for Naina. She widens her eyes out of surprise. It takes few moments for her to understand that he really did that. An anticlockwise mood? now that's surprising and no denial - amazing!

"Shall we dance?",

he asks, back in his carefree voice.

Smiling, Naina obliges. They both laugh noiselessly, enjoy each other's company and begin dancing again.

*Flashback ends*

Smiling, smirking, Rajveer turns to look towards her and suddenly leaning his face into her side neck, he takes Naina by surprise, she goes rigid at her place, staring her parents wide eyed!

"Did your words remind you of something Cadet Singh?",

he whispers into her ear.

In a state of shock and numbness, her mind goes blind, so to her his words seem to be as a joke!

Understanding her state, he takes pity on her but not too much,

"Think! Remember! Tab tak main aata hun!"

As he finishes with his words, Naina thinks that he would leave now and waits for him to do the same but to her utter surprise, he delays his going away from her and inhales her scent, his face still at the same spot. Naina shuts her eyes, feeling his gesture.

And with her eyes still closed she could feel his scent, his heat gone! She opens her eyes in a blink of eyes and finds him gone!

She breathes heavily and pushes her head against the sofa! Soon she blushes and laughs silently at his sweetness and craziness.

~*~*~

"Hello!",

says Rajveer, receiving the call.

"Aap kis janam ki dushmani nikaal rahe hain apun se?",

asks Alekh, straightforwardly.

"Believe me Cadet, issi janam ki!",

says Rajveer, in a matter of fact way, picking up a magazine, he checks out the cover page, leisurely.

"Saza to Naina ko dena chahiye na apun ko? Aap kyun faltu mein itna soch kar apni energy waste kar rahe hain Sir? Dusre kamon mein lagayiye na apni energy!",

says Alekh, seriously.

But his last words skip Rajveer's heartbeat. He widens his eyes. Flustered!

He immediately asks,

"What?"

Alekh purses his lips, hiding his amusement.

"Apun... Apun ka matlab...",

Alekh fumbles.

"Behave Cadet!",

warns Alekh.

His warning does shake Alekh's spirit but soon the brother inside him takes over Rajveer's cadet.

"Naina apun ki behn hai, ye bhuliyega mat!",

says Alekh.

And his words warn Rajveer about who actually needs to behave. Although he didn't really mean to hurt Rajveer, and was meant to be as a tease but it does its work. And he remembers the conversation he had with Alekh earlier. Smiling victoriously already, Rajveer reminds him,

"Theek ussi tarah na jaise Neelu meri?"

Alekh gets pissed off!! Getting angry he asks,

"Apki problem kya hai Sir? Kabhi to apun ko ye ehsaas hone dijiye ke apun apse jeet sakta hai?"

Rajveer smiles lovingly at his words and apologetically too, and says,

"Alekh jab jab tum mujhe ye ehsaas dilate ho ke Naina ke paas uska ek bhai hai jo uske liye mujhse larh sakta hai, tab tab tum mujhse jeet jate ho!"

His words touch Alekh's heart. A shy and respectful smile comes on Alekh's face. His eyes brim with tears. They realize that because of Naina theirs equation is also changing! And irony is, they completely love this fact.

"Acha Sir... Aap ye saza ka kuch kariye na...!!",

pleads Alekh.

"Mujhe bhi aisa hi lag raha hai. Kuch karna chahiye.",

says Rajveer, giving it a thought.

"Hai na?",

says Alekh, feeling glad that he is able to understand his feelings.

"Aur barha dun?",

asks Rajveer, sounding excited.

Alekh gets thoroughly irritated.

"Rehne dijiye! Thank you!",

says Alekh, sounding angry.

This makes Rajveer to laugh.

"Acha sunno, kuch idea do na!",

pleads Rajveer.

"Idea? Boley to? Kis cheez ke liye?",

asks Alekh.

"Neelu ko bhagane ke liye!",

retorts Rajveer, pissed off at his stupidity.

"Kya Alekh? Alekh jaisi baatein karo na!",

says Rajveer, irritated.

"Apun...",

Alekh begins to say something, but thinks better of it.

"Khair choriye!"

Alekh thinks if he could suggest something good to him.

He asks,

"Ek baat bataiye?"

"Haan?",

Rajveer gets excited, thinking, he must have got to some conclusion.

"Aap raat ko kya kar rahe hain?",

he asks, all serious.

Rajveer founds the question stupid. He makes face!

"Raat ko? Sounga? Kyun tumhe kya laga ke main border par larhne ja raha hun?",

asks Rajveer.

Alekh rolls his eyes on his reply.

"Rehne dijiye apka kuch nahi ho sakta. Aap so hi jaiye. Aur haan doodh pi kar sone ki bhi zarurat nahi!",

saying so Alekh ends the call, concluding that Rajveer and Naina are hopeless case!

"He... Hello... Hello...!",

mutters Rajveer but in vain!

Disappointed he ends the call.

~*~*~

Rajveer reaches Naina and finds her blushing. She looks towards him, they stare each other, Rajveer smiles as he realizes that she has remembered!

"Chalo beta bohot der ho chuki hai. Ja kar so jate hain.",

suggests Naina's father.

Rajveer looks towards Naina. Naina looks back. And their eyes transmit everything to each other!

Changing into night dresses, Rajveer and Naina's father head to their room and Naina and her mother heads towards theirs.

Naina keeps twisting at her bed, not being able to sleep. Suddenly she gets a text on her phone. She checks the message and her heart skips a beat as she reads Rajveer Sir flashing on her mobile screen.

She turns to look towards her mother, sleeping next to her. Assured that she is fast asleep, Naina opens the message to read it.

*Bahar aao!*

And agreeing on his command, Naina gets ready to sneak out of her room. She turns to make sure that her mother is fast asleep and silently she sneaks out of the room.

Her heart skips a beat as she finds Rajveer standing against the wall at the left side of her room, such that his right foot is against the wall and right foot against the floor. Rajveer turns to look towards her. They stare each other. The breeze entering through the open window messes up her hair. Rajveer takes pleasure at witnessing her beauty and innocence. Naina tries adjusting her messed up hair but to no success! Rajveer smiles at her innocence and nervousness.

He walks to her slowly, never looking away from her. Throughout his walk towards her, he notices what she is wearing - a cream coloured night dress. And her hair left open. To Rajveer she looks mesmerizing in her night dress.

Reaching her he enjoys an eye lock with her. Naina feels extremely shy. She could feel the blocking of her ears out of nervousness. The dim light makes the moment all the more intimate.

"Neend nahi aa rahi thi.",

Rajveer whispers.

Naina's heart skips a beat as she realizes that this is exactly what her state was in the room. She looks towards him and whispers,

"Mujhe bhi!"

They stare each other. The closeness makes her feel suffocated, but she enjoys this suffocation.

"Main jaun?",

she asks, unable to understand what to say or do.

"Kyun?",

he asks, smiling.

Naina stays quiet because she realizes she doesn't have answer to that question.

"Acha nahi lag raha mere saath rehna? Academy mein to mauke dhundhti rehti ho mujhse milne ke?",

teases Rajveer, whispering.

Naina looks towards him, pleading him through her eyes to stop teasing her.

"Kya kar rahi thi tum aaj Ma Baba ke samne?"

His question skips Naina's heart.

She doesn't understand which incident is he exactly pointing towards.

"Kya matlab?",

she asks.

"Mere saath baithne ki kya zarurat thi?",

he asks lovingly.

Naina bows her head, feeling shy.

"Hmm??",

he prompts, tilting his head a little towards left.

Still with her eyes lowered, Naina says,

"Academy mein bhi nahi reh pati apke saath. At least yahan to free ho sakti hun na?"

Her words touch Rajveer's heart. He smiles understanding her state.

"Kya nahi kar pati academy mein Naina?",

he asks, politely.

Naina looks towards Rajveer indicating all her feelings through her eyes.

Smiling, he asks,

"Yahan akar tum kuch zada hi bold nahi ho gayi Naina?"

"Ye apko boldness dikhta hai?",

she asks, shocked to hear that.

"Wait.. and maine kapde bhi waise hi pehne hain jaisa ki main academy mein pehnti hun to bold kahan se hui?",

asks Naina.

This makes Rajveer to laugh.

"Tumhare paas hai bhi waise bold kapde jo pehnogi?",

asks Rajveer, teasingly.

Naina narrows her eyes on him.

"Kyun? Freshers' ball mein nahi dekha kya mujhe?",

she asks him.

Her words take them both to the day of Freshers' party. They start reminiscing that moment.

*Flashback*

Rajveer standing next to Dr. Mishra stares Naina. His eyes twinkle and blush creeps on his face. But he fails to understand the real reason behind the happiness - whether it's the fact that he is standing next to Dr. Mishra or is it that Naina is standing in front of his eyes and is looking different - girly!

Naina happen to look towards him, laughing, at that particular moment. Her heart skips a beat on realizing that her teacher Captain Rajveer is staring her already. Unconsciously she lowers her eyes for fraction of seconds and then again looks up towards him. All this happens with in seconds.

Rajveer unable to control his emotions anymore indicates her using his fingers that she is looking beautiful.

Naina's heart flutters with joy on receiving the compliment from Rajveer, who she isn't realizing but is becoming her favourite teacher gradually.

Laughing, Naina walks to Rajveer and Dr. Mishra. Neither Rajveer nor Naina makes any effort to lower their eyes whilst she walks towards them, as if she has captured Rajveer's vision through her beauty. Her each step towards him increases Rajveer's heartbeat. Naina notices how the smile on his face is diminishing as she is diminishing the gap between them. She realizes how his stare is turning possessive towards her. All this is new for her. She does realize, but she becomes skeptical as she is naive in matters such as these.

But at the same time she doesn't feel uncomfortable by his gaze. She doesn't understand why suddenly she starts comparing his gaze with that of Huda's. She admits silently that Huda's gaze makes her uncomfortable in a bad way; but Rajveer's... the uncomfort that she is feeling at this moment, she wants to live this feeling forever!

As Naina reaches them, smiling, Rajveer compliments her, unable to tear gaze from her, her beauty is mesmerizing, he accepts silently,

"Amazing Cadet! Kamal hai! Ab to tumhe Brigadier ka bhi darr nahi raha!",

he teases her.

This makes Naina to blush.

Laughing, Dr. Mishra says,

"Well, Captain agar dance apne sikhaya hai to... confidence to hoga hi."

Captain Rajveer gets surprised on hearing that. He looks towards Dr. Mishra in surprise.

"Dr. Mishra apse aj tak koi baat nahi chupi hai, haan?",

asks Captain Rajveer, narrowing his eyes on her, almost like blaming her, but mockingly.

At this Naina staring Rajveer says, laughing,

"Naturally Sir, after all partner kiski hai!"

Rajveer blushes, lowering his eyes.

The fact that like always even today, she managed to find something in him to compliment him for, makes his heart to flutter.

"Waise Captain this is not fair. Apke samne do-do (2-2) khoobsurat women hain aur apne ab tak humari tareef bhi nahi ki!",

Dr. Mishra shows her fake anger.

Naina blushes hearing Dr. Mishra.

Addressing to Naina, Dr. Mishra says,

"Naina inhe na ladkiyon ki tareef karni bilkul nahi aati. To inse kabhi bhi appreciation ki umeed hi mat karna tum."

This makes Naina to laugh.

Rajveer feels embarrassed on seeing her laughing at that.

Hence, quickly he starts protecting himself,

"Aisi... Aisi koi baat nahi hai Dr. Mishra. Tareef karne mein kya rakha hai. Ayiye main abhi kar deta hun tareef."

Dr. Mishra too doesn't step back and demands,

"Haan ayiye kariye."

Rajveer looks towards Naina, sheepishly.

Naina who doesn't realize that his eyes are on her laughs freely.

Frowning, Dr. Mishra says,

"Rehne dijiye aap."

Rolling her eyes, she leaves to get herself another glass of drink.

Rajveer tries to stop her, but she leaves.

This makes Naina to laugh all the more.

Looking towards Naina, Rajveer feels embarrassed, and laugh with her.

Then looking towards Naina, he walks to her and compliments her,

"Aap wakayi bohot khoobsurat lag rahi hain Cadet Singh!"

They stare each other intently.

"Thank you Sir!",

she says, softly.

*Flashback ends*

They laugh and blush together remembering the incident.

They walk to a secluded corner of her home.

"Tumhari himmat kaisi hui Ma Baba ke samne mujhe dantne ki?",

he asks seductively.

Naina blushes, lowering her eyes.

"Kya keh rahi thi tum? 'Pehle ye haath neeche kijiye'?",

he repeats her words, seductively, scolding her on purpose to make her feel vulnerable in front of him.

"To? Aap bhi to mujhe kuch nahi batate!",

says Naina in a low voice, getting determined again.

"Kya nahi bataya tumhe maine?",

asks Rajveer.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Saying so he starts tracing her face with his index finger and teases her,

"Ye ke tum abhi bohot achi lag rahi ho?"

Naina breathes heavely but doesn't answer, not in a state to reply.

Rajveer teases her further,

"Jab apka teacher apse kuch puche, to apko jawab dena chahiye Cadet Singh."

Naina looks towards him, her eyes possessive on him.

"Nahi...",

she breaths.

"Kya nahi?",

asks Rajveer, smiling.

"Ye ki aap bhaiya ke case se related investigation karne aa rahe hain yahan.",

says Naina, hurt.

Rajveer rolls his eyes and says,

"Naina iss mein itni badi baat kya hai?"

"Badi baat kya hai?",

she asks in utter disbelief.

"Naina Naveen ka case mere liye subse important hai. Uske gunhegaron ko saza dilana meri zindagi ka maksad hai. Tum ghar aa rahi to maine socha ke main bhi ek baar aa kar yahan kuch pata lagane ki koshish karun. Sabut dhundhu.",

says Rajveer, irritated on that fact that she couldn't understand this much.

"To ye baat aap mujhe bata bhi to sakte the na?",

asks Naina, understanding him.

Rajveer looks towards her apologetically.

"Naina kayi baar main kayi sabuton ke paas ja kar bhi khali haath laut aata hun. Wo directly Naveen ke gunehgaron tak to nahi pahunchate but han ek step agey zarur barhane mein madad karte hain meri, par kayi baar wo bhi mere haath se nikal jate hain. To kya wo main tumhe aa kar batata hun?",

he asks, knitting his brows.

Naina realizes how true it is.

"Kya hum regular basis par baat karte hain? Naveen ke barey mein discuss karte hain?",

asks Rajveer, pissed off.

Naina feels all the more guilty.

"Naina tum itni impulsive kyun ho jati ho Naveen ki har baat par?",

he asks, irritated.

"Kya mujh par tumhe bharosa nahi? Kya iss baat par bharosa nahi ke koi bhi baat jo tumse share karne layak ho wo main tumhe bataunga?",

asks Rajveer.

Naina lowers her eyes, feeling guilty.

Looking back towards him, Naina says,

"Baat ye nahi hai ke mujhe aap par bharosa nahi. Baat ye hai ke aap mujhse koi baat share na kare. Ho sakta hai mujhse koi baat chupaye. Isliye taki mujhe koi nuksan na pahunche."

Her anxiety reaches it's zenith point.

Rajveer realizes how right she is! There won't be anything to wonder if he chooses to keep something from Naina, fearing that it might be dangerous for her life to know it.

Rajveer embraces her into a tight hug and whispers into her ear,

"Aaj ke baad tumhe jab jo puchna ho mujhse puchna, purey haq se! Main tumhe har baat bataunga!"

Hearing it a smile of satisfaction and love comes on Naina's face. Naina feels relaxed. Rajveer realizes after saying her that, even he is relaxed to a great extent. As if henceforth there will be someone with whom he would be able to share his heart contents without any fear!!!

"Waise agar apko mera apke paas baithna pasand nahi aya to apne baad mein mujhe firse bulaya kyun apne paas baithne ke liye?",

asks Naina.

Rajveer blushes but decides to not fall in her trap and hence shows off, saying,

"tum ek baar jab aa hi gayi thi mere paas to uske baad hi to bola!"

Naina narrows her eyes on him, on hearing that.

"Yani apko acha lagta hai mera apke paas rehna?",

she asks, arching a brow, smiling infectiously.

Rajveer looks towards her lovingly.

"To apne mujhe ye baat kabhi boli kyun nahi?",

she whispers, feeling shy.

"In fact academy mein to mujhe aisa lagta hai ke mera apke paas ana apko irritate karta hoga. Main...",

Rajveer intervenes,

"Kabhi band mat karna mujhe tang karna Naina!"

"Mujhe tang karna purey haq se!"

His words touch her heart. Her eyes brim up with tears of joy.

"Ab main kuch puchun?",

asks Rajveer, smiling lovingly.

Naina nods her head into affirmative.

"Tumhari shadi ki chinta sirf tumhare Ma-Baba ko hi hai ya tumhe bhi hai?",

he asks naughtily.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina mouthorgan tune begins)

This comes as a surprise for her. She looks towards him widening her eyes. This makes both of them to laugh lovingly and the tighten their hug.
