Chapter 3
Twinkle stood there like a statue. Seemed like her feet had been glued to the ground. She couldn't believe that he was standing right in front of her with that ever charming smile of his. Yes the very same smile which she hated now yet she couldn't take her eyes off of him. Her mouth fell open and her eyes seemed to be popping out of her sockets. She couldn't digest all that was happening. She wanted to but she couldn't move. She had lost all her senses. Her heart beats were getting higher. For a second it seemed as if her brain had stopped functioning as she stood there, hypnotised by his looks. It wouldn't be wrong to say that she even forgot to breathe for a second. That was the effect he was having on her. His mere presence made her lose control over herself. She was in a fight with herself.
She was boggled, without her knowing she started moving towards kunj. Similar was the case with kunj. He too was lost in her and started coming towards her. Kunj and twinkle stared at each other without blinking their eyes. For kunj it was like his life had finally returned back to his body. As if he started living now only, and all this while he was dead from the inside. He wanted to hug her and tell her how much he missed her but something was stopping him from doing so. Both of them seemed to have drifted off into another world all together. They both were struggling to control their emotions.
They were brought back to reality when a sudden scream filled the room, it was Kaushik "twinkle! Dhyaan se.. dekho aage kaanch ke tukde pade hai.. kahi tume lag na jaye"
Twinkle snapped out her little bubble as if she was sleeping all this while, ignorant to what was happening around her. She stammered, trying to come up with a suitable response. Finally she said, "uh.. woh mai.. I mean ki.. I was.. mai.. I'm sorry ki mere haatho se ye gir gaya.. mai abhi utha deti hu"
without waiting for anyone's response, she knelt down and started picking up the broken pieces of glass, and to her utmost shock kunj too got down with her and started helping her with the task. While kneeling down both their eyes met. Twinkle was quick to break the eye lock and look away. She started avoiding his gaze and refrained from looking at him. She looked down trying to divert her attention from him but she was aware that he was continuously looking at her without even blinking his eyes. All this attention from him was making her uneasy.
Suddenly kunj cut his finger and let out a small scream of pain. At this twinkle forgot everything else and held on to his finger and with a fear stricken voice asked "kunj tumhe lagi toh nahi na?" the pain in her voice was evident and didn't go unnoticed by kunj. He looked up at her and smiled. She was so blinded by her concern for him, that she realised she was holding onto the wrong finger only when he winked at her and showed her the wounded finger on his other hand. On realising what was happening she suddenly let go of his hand.
Kaushik said" arey aap dono ye kya kar rahi ho? Leave all this. Ye sab karne ke liye yaha aur bhi log hai." Twinkle and kunj slowly got up.
Kaushik continued "kyu twinkle, surprised ho gayi na? kaha tha na ki tum chauk jaogi apne partner ko dekh kar"
Twinkle gave a painful glance towards kunj with the pain and hurt clearly visible in her eyes," haa sir, kuch zyada hi chauk gayi hu". Kunj smiled contently looking at twinkle and replied " ji ha sir, lagta hai inhe itna bada shock laga hai ki yeh right aur left ke beech kar farak hi bhool gayi hai", clearly mocking her about the earlier incident. Kaushik had a hearty laugh listening to Kunj's humorous reply. He decided that it was time to get everyone officially introduced to one another. Pointing towards Twinkle,"Ye hai hamari sabse kaabil..." kunj completed,"Sabse hoshiyaar aur well-known crime reporter Miss Twinkle Taneja.. aur ye hai..."pointing towards Yuvraj he said, "Sports specialist Mr Yuvraj Luthra" and looked at Kaushik, "Right Sir? Kaushik seemed quite impressed. He asked "aap inhe kya pehle se jante ho?"
For a second twinkle's stopped breathing on hearing that question. Kunj leaned back on a nearby chair making himself comfortable and looked at twinkle with a killer smile plastered to his face, and replied " woh actually kya hai na sir, jiske saath zindagi.." he looked up at Kaushik and said correcting himself " uh.. I mean kaam karna ho uske baare mei jankari hona achhi baat hoti hai, kam karne mei iss se aur asani hogi" " aur saath hi saath unke kareebi logo ke baare mei bhi janna padta hai" he said looking at Yuvraj who was standing quietly in a corner. Even though Yuvi was standing and quietly watching all this drama unfold he was noticing each and every action of twinkle right from Kunj's entry. Again looking at twinkle kunj said " kyu maine sahi kaha na Miss Taneja? He then turned to Kaushik and said " aur sir aap please mujhe kunj bulaiye and no aap, tum kehkar bulane mei zyada achha lagta hai mujhe"
He then moved to a round table adjacent to the door where he had kept a bouquet of white lilies to rest, before jumping in to help twinkle. He presented it to twinkle and said "beautiful flowers for the most beautiful lady in the world'. Continuing with a curve on his lips he added " mujhe yakeen hai ki aapko ye bauhat pasand ayega". She hesitantly accepted the flowers. Kunj was still staring at her with all his heart when suddenly Yuvi got in the middle, " Toh Mr Sarna aap itni lambi journey ke baad aye hai, I'm sure ki aap tired honge. Aapko nahi lagta ki apko ghar jaake rest karna chahiye?" kunj understood his indication and the hidden meaning behind it, he said calmly" don't worry Mr Luthra" he glanced at twinkle and continued" meri thakan toh yaha aate hi utar gayi hai"
Kaushik interrupted and took kunj out to get him familiarised with the rest of the staff. He was soon introduced to everyone. The ladies kept hovering around him and giving him attention. This didn't go down well with twinkle. For a moment she thought of pulling their eyes out but them composed herself somehow.
Yes Twinkle Taneja was jealous. She was confused herself. She was boggled as to how he still mattered to her. Her chain of thoughts were broken by Kunj's words.
" ek zaroori baat bhale hi office mei mai aapke liye kunj hu par khoobsurat ladies mujhe joh chahe who bula sakti hai, banda always hazir hai at ur service.. is that clear my pretty ladies? Twinkle was turning red due to anger. On seeing twinkle so jealous kunj moved towards a girl and took her hand into his hands, gave her his killer smile and said" hi beautiful.. aapka naam jaan sakta hu"
the girl was clean bowled and replied still lost in his eyes "kajal" at which kunj replied " hayye.. teri aakhon se chura lu". Kajal started blushing due to all this attention from kunj.
That was seriously the last straw for twinkle. Kunj noticed this and came and stood beside her. He naughtily said to her" dheere se warna jwalamukhi phat jayega"
twinkle turned her gaze away from him and murmured "in teen saalon mei aur bhi bigad gaya hai ye toh". Kunj heard it. Looking at her he murmured" tum jo nahi thi na sudharne ke liye, don't worry ab pura sudhar jaunga". She gave him a disgusted look and turned her face away. Kaushik instructed everyone to get back to their stations. Before leaving kajal winked at kunj and gave him a flying kiss to which kunj responded by giving her back a flying kiss.
Kaushik turned towards twinkle and said" dekho ab tum dono ko saath mei kaam karna hai, issliye kunj aur tum ek cabin share karoge"
twinkle tried to protest and said" par sir ek cabin share karne ki kya zarurat hai, yaha aur bhi toh itne saare cabins hai, Mr Sarna ko koi bhi de do"
Kaushik said" mai janta hu twinkle, par saath mei rahoge toh bonding badhegi.. akhir partners ho tum dono" twinkle finally gave in seeing that there was no use in trying any harder. Yuvi was also getting irritated by all this, when he finally decided to speak up Kaushik order him to go and cover an interview with the coach of the Indian cricket team and left towards his cabin. Yuvi disappointingly left too.
Twinkle looked at kunj and stomped on the ground angrily and left for her cabin. He followed her too. "dheere se, heals toote jayenge" he said to her with a big smile on his face.
On reaching her cabin,she dashed on her chair in anger and was about to throw the bouquet on the table,when she was stopped by Kunj,"Arey arey itne khubsurat phoolo ne tumhaara kya bigaada hai?Bechaare inko thodi na pata hai ke ye tumhaare haatho mein hai varna tumhaare khubsurti ke aagey ye sharam se vaise hi mar jaate. "Twinkle stood up with a jerk and moved towards him,"Kyu aaye ho tum yaha Kunj?"Kunj shockingly replied,"Le yehi nehi pata?Us drugs dealing ke maamle mein tumhaari madat karne samjhi."Twinkle nodded her her head in disagreement, "Main tumhe achche se jaanti hu tum kisi aur maksad se yaha aaye ho."She raised her finger on his face,"Dekho main tumhe warn...""Shhh!"Kunj came more close and put his finger on her lips,"Bauhat bolti ho yaar tum pata nehi Yuvraj tumhe kaise jhel raha hoga?""Aur vaise bhi..."He slowly cornered her on the wall and passionately asked,"Mujhe tum achche se nehi jaanogi to aur kaun jaanega Twinkle? He continued in the same tone, "By the way tumhaara washroom kidhar hai?"Twinkle was speechless when he touched her lips with his finger and could feel the same thrill that she once used to feel but the very next second his asking for the washroom got her a little irritated. Maybe because he said it in thr same tone as if its all a play to him. She swiftly pointed her hands towards the left directing him as to where to go. He left for the washroom.
Twinkle the regained her composure and sat on the table looking at the bouquet of flowers in her hand. He still remembers she thought smiling to herself. She brought the flowers closer to her face and was lost in the smell coming from it. She was lost in the thoughts of how he used to buy these flowers for her to melt her anger. He knew how to make her happy
"tumhaara hi favourite perfume daala hai, don't worry" his sound brought her back from the memory lane. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realise he was standing close to her. To break the silence he asked" waise kya tum abhi bhi drawer mei chaabi rakhne ke bahane se meri photo ko dekhti ho?" she was shocked and gave him a how-do-you-know kind of look. Coming closer to her he said, "Hum jinse apni jaan se zyaada pyar karte hai, unki har choti se choti baat ka pata chal jaata hai aur mere liye tum to meri ruh mein basti ho" for a moment she was lost in his deep eyes and could feel the genuineness of his emotions. Soon realising how close they had gotten she jumped off the table and asked him " kaam ke silsiley mei aye ho toh theek hai lekin waha un ladkiyon se flirt karne ki kya zaurat thi tumhe?". Kunj gave a mischeviously smile to twinkle and asked" kyu? Tumhe jalan ho rahi thi?" twinkle tossed her glance aside and said" jalan aur mujhe? Mujhe tum kya karte ho ya kya nahi karte ho iss se koi farak nahi padtha." She was jealous beyond extent but she didn't want him to find out about it.
He continued by shrugging his shoulders "khair kitni fikar hai ye toh meri ungli katne ke waqt tumhaara haal dekh ke hi samajh gaya tha" coming closer to her.
she again said pushing him away" tumhaara kuch nahi ho sakta.. ek dum hopeless case ho tum.. pata nahi sir ne tum mei kya dekh lia.. tumse toh baat karna bhi bekaar hai" " babaji pata nahi mai iss se baat karke apna time kyu waste kar rahi hu"
kunj replied to it by saying" kyuki tum khush ho mere aane se, bhale dikhao nahi par mai jannta hu ki tum mujhe dekh kar sukoon ki saas le rahi ho"
twinkle: "tum na bas sapne dekhte raho.. mai jaa rahi hu"
kunj: "sapne hi toh dekhta rehta hu, tumhare"
twinkle was now fuming with anger, she said" tum na jahannum mei jao"
kunj: " arey wahi se toh aya hu, tumhare bina toh har jagha jahannum lagta hai"
twinkle had enough of his non sense, she said angrily " baithe raho yaha, mai jaa rahi hu sir ke paas". On this kunj put both hands on his chest and said "I love you"
twinkle out of anger left the room. Kunj too followed her murmuring to himself, " hayye, meri jaan lene ka ek bhi tareeka nahi bhuli hai ye"
here is an update filled with twinj scenes like i promised Ian and Jerry
hope its bearable guys.. aur agle kuch dino ke liye pakka update de kar trouble nahi karungi.. 😃
