A little girl came running inside a room and came and hugged her teddy bear ...
"NiBir.. I won ..."
She squeezed the teddy in joy ... she felt a hand on her shoulder she knew that it was her Bade Papa's touch ... she turned and hugged his legs ...
"Bade paa... Kanika won ..."
Ramesh smiled at his granddaughter and picked her up in his arms...He kissed her forehead and praised her...
"Shabaash mera baccha... Mamma Papa ko bataya ki aap jeet gaye?"
Kanika face-palmed and nodded her head negatively... Ramesh chuckled at her cuteness
"Koi baat nahi abhi bata dete hai chalo..."
He took her to Nisha's room and stood infront of the photo wall of her room ... he let Kanika down and she went and cherished the photo that was placed at her level ... It was a family picture of Nisha, Kabir and Kanika which was taken on her 4th birthday...
She couldn't control her emotions and she was just a 6 year old kid who had no control over her emotions... she sniffed and tried to control her tears but failed miserably .. Ramesh understood that she is crying he immediately went to her and hugged her tightly...
Kanika broke down completely, she wrapped her tiny arms around Ramesh and started crying louder and louder ...
"Mamma Papa Kanika ko chodke kyun gaye Bade Paa...Kanika ko bhi unke paas jana hai "
Ramesh patted her hair and tried to calm her down but before that he took a deep breath and tried to calm himself... He picked Kanika and made her sit on the bed ...
"Kanika ... aap aapne naam ka matlab jante ho?"
Kanika nodded her head in no...
"Kanika ka matlab hai Kabir aur Nisha ka ansh "
Kanika looked at him innocently and asked..." Sachi?"
Ramesh smiled and kissed the top of her hair ... "Muchi"
He laid her on the bed and started cherishing her hair...

She asked in a very sweet way, Ramesh thought for a while and then started...
"Ek ladki thi, sab se alag, baki ladkiyon se bikul juda.. uski hasi sabse pyaari thi, par usske liye duron ki khushi zyada zaroori thi..."
He was cut off by Kanika's voice...
"Aur vo ladki Mamma thi, right?"
Ramesh smiled and replied.."Right.."
"Aage sunao na..." she demanded hugging that teddy tightly that which her parents had gifted her on Christmas eve... which she had named NiBir...
"Phir vo ek ladke se mili.. vo bhi uski tarah hi tha, sarphira... "
"Vo papa the..." she replied cheekily...
"Haan baccha..." Ramesh kissed her hair and continued...
"Unn dono ki kismet main ek ajeeb se mulakat likhi thi, jab dono ek hi safar pe nikle tab ek dusre se mile... uss safar pe kya hua sirf vo jante the... par uss safar ne unki zindgi badal di yeh hum sab jante the..."
He smiled as he was glad that going against his father when he allowed her to go for that trip was actually a game of Destiny... it was their fate to meet that day...
"Dono ek trip pe mile the? "
She sked curiously...
"Hmmm.. phir jab dono wapas aaye toh pata chala ki unki shadi ho gai hai... par kyunki koi uss shadi main shamil nahi ho paya tha humne phir se unki shadi karvai..."
"Do baar shaadi ki par mujhe ek bhi baar nahi bulaya..."
She folded her arms around her chest and acted as if she was angry making her chuckle...
"Vo issliye kyunki dono nahi chahate the ki aap Mamma ko rota hua dekho..."
He pulled her cheeks and replied...
"Mamma shadi ke time ro rahi thi?"
"Haan... kyunki aapki Mamma unki Mamma se door ho rahi thi na issilye..."
He became emotional as he remembered Nisha's Bidaai...
"Acha hua main nahi thi wahan...phir kya hua..."
"Phir ek din un dono ko pata chala ki aap unki life main aane wale ho... Aur dono bohut khush the..."
He kissed her forehead as he said the latter part...
"Agar mere aane se itne khush the toh mujhe chod ko kyun chale gaye?"
She asked with tears in her eyes making him feel sad too...
"Aapko stars pasand hai na?"
He asked trying to divert her mind...
"Haan.. bohut pasand hai.." she smiled and replied ...
"Toh apke favourite stars na thode kaam ho rahe the, issliye Mamma Papa aapke liye aur stars banana main Bhagwanji ki help karne ke chalegaye..."
He replied trying to make her understand and expressions seemed like she was actually trying to understand his words...
"Mujhe vo stars dekhne hai jo Mamma Papa ne banaye hai..."
She demanded, Ramesh nodded and picked her up in his arms, he took her to the balcony and showed her two stars...
"Yeh jo dono sab se zyada chamak rahe hai na, vo apke Mamma Papa ka star hai..."
He pointed out at two stars and she clapped her hands seeing them...
"Abh main roz raat ko un se dher sari baatien karungi..." she said in an animated way trying to express how much she is going to talk to them...
"Chalo, abh raat hogai hai aap so jao..."
Ramesh moved those little strands of her hair behind her ear and made her lay on the bed...
He laid next to her and started singing a song for her to put her to bed...as she loved old songs he sang an old song for her...
Naagmain hai... Shikwe hai...
Kisse hai... baatien hai...
Baatien bhul jate hai...
Yaadien Yaad aati hai..
Yeh yaadien kisi dil-o-jaanam ke chale jane ke baad aati hai ...

He had just started singing and he heard her soft snoring, he smiled kissed her forehead for the last time before leaving the room.
As soon as he came out of the room he saw Lakshmi standing there...
Lakshmi looked at his face and figured out that again Kanika was missing her parents...
"Phir vahi sawale pucche aaj ussne?" she asked as her voice cracked due to tears forming in her eyes...
Ramesh too couldn't say anything except nodding his head positively... Lakshmi broke down at the miserable game the fate had played...
"Kyun Ramesh? Humare hi bachon ke saath aisa kyun? Yeh tak nahi socha ki iss nanhi si jaan ka kya hoga? Kyun kiya ussne aisa?"
She hugged him and broke down... he patted her back to calm her down...
"Kamre main chalte hai.. Kanika uth gai toh uske sawalon ke jawab nahi de payenge hum..."
She nodded and wiped her face as they walked towards their room... as they reached the room Ramesh went towards the self and took out a box, he opened it and removed an old newspaper cutting from it...

Nisha and Kabir were returning from hospital, they had come for a small routine check-up when they came to know about Nisha's second pregnancy, really excited they informed the family about this and were visiting them...
Once they reached their everyone started congratulating them, since Kanika was just 5 she hardly understood anything but joined them in the celebrations...
Since Nisha was craving to have ice creams she demanded to go out for a walk and have some, as Kanika was sleeping the cousins decided to let her be at home and joined Nisha and Kabir for the walk...
When everyone was busy ordering ice creams for themselves, Nisha and Kabir leaned on the car and were busy spending some romantic moments...
Kabir tugged the hair strand behind her ear and asked..
"Ready for another experience ?"
Nisha smiled and nodded "Bilkul ready.."
Kabir ... "Dekh lena iss baar laka hi hoga.." he touched her tummy and placed a kiss as soon as he stood straight they heard a loud voice
The next thing he knew was someone had fired a gun and Nisha was the target but the bullet hit the side mirror of the car and hit him right next to his heart instead...
"Kabir..." Nisha screamed and tried to catch hold of him but this time another gun fired and it hit her in her stomach... she winched in pain as another bullet made its way through her body near his rib cage...
She fell on the ground next to Kabir...
The person who shot them was none other than Vasundara...
"5 saalon se hum uss pagal khane main the apne bete ke wajah se, par usse bhadkane wali tum thi Nisha... Tumhari wajah se hum apne bete se door the Nisha, sirf tumhari wajah se... aaj uss kaid se nikal ke sabse pehle humne tumhe marna chaha par humne hi apne bete aur uss wajah ko maar diya..."
She laughed and cried at the same time like a manic...
Nisha and Kabir were in little state of consciousness and somehow managed to catch eachother's hand ... They both had tears in their eyes seeing the other in pain...
The cousins came out as soon as they heard the noises, the girls ran towards Nisha and Kabir while the boys ran behind Vasundara to catch her...
Since they were near a highway, she dashed into a car, the cousins tried to take them to the hospital but Nisha and Kabir refused...
"Dolly di.. Kirti... Jwalu... Kani... Kanika ka dhyaan rakhna... Paa... Papa aur Maa... se kehne ... Main ... unse baatye... ki hum... usse bohut pyaar karte the..."
Nisha somehow managed to say a few words in her last breaths...
"Ussse ... kehna... hum... stars... stars baanke hamesha... saath hai .. uske... " Kabir said as he gripped Nisha's hand tightly making her look at him...
"I love you..."
Both said together and took a deep breath before closing their eyes...
They lived together and took their last breaths together, this what they had always wished...
The cousins cried helplessly as they couldn't save them...
One of the best days of their life became the worst day of their life...

"Usse toh saza mil gai, par uss saza ka kya jo hum sab bhugat rahe hai? Kanika bhugat rahi hai..."
Lakshmi asked him, she wanted an answer...
"Janta hun yeh bohut badi saza hai par main isska saamne karne ke liye taiyaar hun, meri Kanika, mere bete aur meri beti ka ansh hai, main janta hun vo bhi iska saamna kar sakti hai... vo iska saana karegi.. "
He said proudly and went to the terrace to spend sometime alone, once he came there he shut his eyes and let all those flashbacks come in his mind that made him smile and cry at the same time...
"Naa puri ho saki, Na adhoori rahi.. Ajeeb si hai unki kahani..
Door chalegaye humse par chod gaye, apni nishaani..."
