Because Kdrama, (and its super hot heroes) is just so deabak and addictive like a drug.
So I made this topic to checl out if there are any others like me out there.😃
I usually never get obsessed with anything easily, the story and acting is my major pulling point because I only get interested as long the story and actors are good so it took me quite a while to actually become obsessed with kdrama's mostly due to the fact the first few that I watched all seemed quite similar. After watching the 6th arrogant+cold/playboy chaebol hero and the clueless+peniless heroine, it sorta gets old and all those characters begin to merge together 😆
Thus, when I stumbled upon this wonderfully delicious drama, My true love and obsession for Kdrama began. And that drama was Coffee Prince ❤️
I have watched possibly more than 50 kdramas and even many jdramas, but I have never come across a romcom drama as wonderful as thisspecial drama. Everything about this show was just perfect, I couldn't find a single flaw 😲
Gong Yoo became the first Korean actor that I fell completely and head over heels in love with. At first I never thought of him as attractive but after watching the way he acted out Han Gyul(his character in CP) He became one of my top five actors to watch Yoon Eun Hye, the actress of CP, was just fantastic as well! Her portrayal of such a tomboyish heroine was so realistic and believable. I have seen so many actresses trying to act like a boy for their dramas but YEH is the only actress that I felt was truly a boy in her mannerism and behavior. She looked just one of the guys and so effortlessly that you dont feel that she is merely acting it out.
And till date, Coffee Prince has become one of those irreplaceable dramas on my top ten list. 😊 (Those who haven't seen this drama, I highly reccomend it! Its one of those classic dramas that will melt your heart)
So CP began my obsession! I read every article, fanfic, blog post and watched any and every video related to Coffee Prince (& Gong Yoo ). Even read the novel it was based off on!
It took me quite a while to get over it especially since I couldn't find a single drama that could give me the same warm and tingly feeling as CP. Suffice to say, it sorta ruined all other shows for me 😆
I took a break in between to get over it (yes, I know it sounds stupid 😆 But I got just that crazy over a drama)
College kept me busy for a while until exams came around and my itch to watch kdramas began again (its always hardest to resist during exam time)
I was just that unlucky that I came across the one drama that I shouldn't have started during my exams!
And that was Healer ❤️ This drama was just sooo damn good. I didnt sleep properly for two days straight! Every episode was so tightly plotted, entertaining, thrilling and wonderful that I couldn't stop until I finished it up! Heck, it was even better than many american shows I had seen before.
Though I won't say it was perfect because it did have a few flaws here and there but nothing major because the characters along with the actors made up for it!
And of course, Ji Chang Wook <3 *_*
Aaah! I still haven't been able to get over him, not only was JCW incredible and utterly adorable as Healer but he was such a multi talented man off screen! An added bonus was that he was and still is single 😉
I wanted to see more shows like Healer and one of the shows that came up was City Hunter, which ironically had the same actress Park Min Young, I found her to be okay in Healer but I didn't exactly like her as much as I did like Yoon Eun Hye.
So I wasn't exactly that psyched to watch City Hunter even though it had Lee Min Ho who I found to be very over hyped though I hadn't watched any of his dramas and he was mentioned practically in every Korean forum sites so I got turned off by the hype (I know! I must have been insane to have been ignorant of him that long 😆)
I put off City Hunter for a long time, watched some good shows like Master's Sun (So Ji Sub and Gong Ho Jin were just perfect together!), My love from another Star, Vampire Prosecutor, Pinnochio, I hear your voice (Really liked this one!), To the Beautiful You, Secret Garden, Empress Ki, Skip Beat or Extravagant Challenge, I remember you and many more including few jdramas when I got too full of kdrama brand of sweetness.
Until just recently I ended up finally watching City Hunter.Thankfully I began after my exams ended and I regretted it so so so so much!
I regretted the fact I never tried to watch awesome show before! I regretted the fact I had disliked Lee Min Ho! I regretted the fact I didn't find Park Min Young interesting enough to try this show! (Frankly, I found her character in CH to be better than Young Shin in Healer though acting wise, she is much better in Healer. But her character in CH is more kickass)
Seriously how could I have been so blind! Because this show was so wonderfully scripted and it moved me to tears quite a few times as well. Lee Min Ho may not be the best and most excellent actor out there but he definitely nailed his character Lee Yoon Seung! I can't imagine any other actor as the City Hunter. I finally understood the strong appeal of LMH after going through so many of his off screen videos and interviews, I can see now why he has such a humongous fan base all over the world. He is one of those fortunate actors like JCW and GY who can easily charm their way into the viewers hearts
Thus am going through my third obsession cycle and frankly I don't see any hope of getting out of it soon😆
