So finally got around to watching the ME and today's episode (I had to work tomorrow and had guests over when I got back, so by the time they left and I got all comfy in bed, I fell asleep 😆)
Anyway, both were superb except Dharma's part. I wanted something more Subhadrangi-ish (I know I keep referring back to that, but come on ... this time it's for Ashok's sake.) from the ME where she tells Noor that Ashok is still alive (towards the end of the show). Today's episode was well ..
That was me during the hand-washing scene, seriously.
We see a somewhat better Dharma during the ME, and then whoosh, back to la la land we go.
This is sort of the dialogue I was looking for during the ME:
Noor (N): If I killed Ashok, why should I be partial to Drupad?
Dharma (D): *her head is low, her head slowly lifts, eye slowly start to move up* *whispers* What did you say Noor?
N: You heard me, I killed Ashok.
D: *rushes up to the stairs where Dastaan blocks her path* *gives a deathly look (since it's Dharma, maybe a serious glare?) to Dastaan* Ashok is alive. *shoves Dastaan*
N: I watched Ashok drown in the lake myself. Ashok is dead.
D: Don't mistake my love for peace as my weakness Noor. Ashok is my life, if you as much as harm a little hair on his body, I personally will ensure you get punished appropriately.
N: Aww is Ahimsa Loving Dharma going to do violence now?
D: Peace is my shield, but Ashok is my sword. He is alive, I can feel his heart beating.
*scene shifts to an image of the lake where a heart is beating*
D: I can hear his lung swelling with pride as he breaths.
*scene shifts to a close up image of the lake where small air bubbles form*
D: I can see him standing, with his sword is one hand ready to defend his motherland.
*scene shifts to Ashok emerges from beneath the lake*
D: Ashok will come because Ashok is alive. He wouldn't die leaving me or Magadh in a state of captivity.
N: *shoves Dharma* Well call your son then Dharma. Call him. Your son is dead Dharma. Your son is dead. Ashok is ---
D: *angry expression* Ashok (she doesn't yell or scream. She just says it in a loud, powerful, commanding voice.
N: *looks around* I don't see your Ashok Dharma. *slaps her*
*Bindusar roars with rage, attacks Noor but gets sliced by Noor and then Dastaan points his sword at Bindu)
N: Stay out of this Bindusar. You are the one who created these problems. You never cared about anyone but your one true love, Dharma.
D: *laughs* Don't pin this on me toots. You never loved Bindusar to begin with, after all ... that's why you decided to marry Dastaan.
Dastaan: Listen --
D: Shut it, two queens are talking right now, stay out of it.
N: Don't you dare --
D: *smirk*
N: I will kill you.
D: Attack me if you dare. I haven't been wasting my time for nothing ever since your father tried to kill me 14 years ago. I've trained in weaponry as well.
N: We'll see about that
** commences a beautiful fight between Noor and Dharma Dharma is splendid, but Noor gets the advantage and points her sword at a fallen Dharma **
N: What happened Rani Dharma? You're pathetic. Now prepare to die. *lifts sword*
D: *shields herself by placing her arms in a cross in front of her*
*Ashok enters and throws the knife, knocking it out of Noor's hands*
A: Enough. You have gone too far Mata Noor. *closes eyes and breathes deeply once* Jai Janani!
N: So you're alive huh? Not a problem, I'll just kill you once more.
A: *Attacks and pushes back Noor who is baffled at Ashok's skills* *Goes towards Dharma and picks her up.* Aap thik hai na Maa?
D: *smiles* *wipes blood from her lower lip and put a tilak on Ashok's forehead* Vijaya Bhava! Protect your matrabhumi putra!
A: *turns towards Noor and a fight commences. Ashok's final move is jump on Noor, and then spins around and flings her across. Noor jumps up and runs towards Ashok with her knife. Ashok locks his elbow with her elbow, twists it, and then shoves Noor's knife hand into her stomach. (It's a tweak off a wrestling move that I'm forgetting).
I don't know ... maybe something like that? 😆😆
