Does Court know how to court the Oscars?

The film has no backing from any corporate organization, no patronage from any of the established production houses. It was made on a shoestring budget by funds provided by the director Chaitanya Tamhane's best friend Vivek Gomber.

According to experts in the film industry, the film's team is totally lost on how to go about the Oscar race.

"It's like giving a child the key to a door in paradise that he can't open because he doesn't know where it is. Chaitanya is completely clueless on how to take the film to the Oscars. It requires heavy and intense lobbying. The makers need to be stationed in Los Angeles for at least two months leading up the Oscar nominations. The process is long arduous and, most importantly, costly. Where are the funds to support Chaitanya's chances at the Oscars?"

In 2013, when Gyan Correa's film was selected as India's official entry to the Oscars, the producers NFDC spent close to Rs. 5 crores in lobbying in LA.

Only a miracle can get the film this kind of funds.
