I didn't watch the episode although its hard to avoid watching. I did read the update.
There was a scene where Simmi tells Ishita to loose weight; to get in shape like how shagun is so that Raman doesn't looses interest in her.
Then the v next morning ishita too thinks about what simmi said. Raman makes a general statement about her weight although he didn't mean anything. It was a very general statement.
My ques here is what value does weight of a person has in a relationship. Is it really imp to have a sexy figure or a muscular body? If a spouse gains weight after marriage does this affects the love from the other side? Really?

I so wish that statement wasn't made by Raman :( although it was purely general. He didnt mean anything. Somewhere I felt bad. A lady who gives everything to her family has to use such means to keep her husband's interest intact?

P.S : m not talking about being obese. M talking about general fat gain. Even if a person becomes obese ur love for him or her shouldn't change.

Also I don't intend to bash Raman since he didn't make any demeaning statement.

This thought came to my mind so I wrote in here to get more views on this topic.

@bold - that is the weirdest thing i have ever heard. 🤪😲 I stoppd watching show long time back n stopped readinn WU too.

So Raman will love Ishita only if she losses weight n on top of that they r showing a woman advising something as stupid as that to another woman.

As far as Raman is concernd nothing surprises me any more.

They r just creating stupid drama so by hook or crook defending the nonsense they show.

It wud have been more logical if they showed doctors advising her to lose weight to concieve to get her BP etc in check coz that is something Doctors advise.

N about ur question that weight of a spouse shud matter in a relationship or not - my only response is dont follow this show to learn Real things. My Dad n my husband or even my cousins n friends r not like Raman. Reality is much different than what is being shown.

The show is trying to mock infertility in women n now with weight issues surely they are trying to demoralize women.

Women in real world are much more accomplished than what they r trying to portray.

From which angle is Ishita fat/ not in shape/ not or less sexy? 😆 This is another extension of their regressive mindset. Don't pay heed to them. And if your* husband loses interest in you because of your weight gain, before you hit the gym, go see a lawyer about divorce.

*You as in general, not the TM.

@TM If you're hurt or mad about the issue, come join us in protesting. We're protesting against every type of regressive shit they show.

Things like these made me give up on this show. Slight jibes were always there but this is stupid regressive thought just merely used as a plot device.
I actually can understand Simmi giving such advice because woman has to be insecure coz she has had a cheating husband. But I don't understand how these women are talking about Raman like this- that guy can be dense but not cheat. it dumps down Ishita if she thinks about weight at Simmi's behest. Would have still made sense if she took Raman's joke seriously on her own but after their consummation she should have some clarity. this has bothered me, why the heck she is made to listen to advices about her marriage from everyone, why cannot she talk. But then no drama.

Don't ever look at this couple or infact any tv couple as a mark realism , they might share few traits but that be all.

weight issues for her pregnancy could still would have made sense. But well.

There u go have another # message there
Loosing weight to stay healthy and fit or to be athletic is fine. The dialogue should have stopped there. Though Raman didn't mean anything, that might create a low self esteem in a woman. Simmi should have said let's hit the gym together to stay healthy.

This weight related comment and comparison to Shagun was done delibrately to drive an insecurity into Ishita so that the MU that is to come later is also that much stronger..
But yeah..its sad to see the supposedly mature characters of the show mouth and react to such dialogues even if it is for the sake of a twisted plot..

But then again it is a sad reflection of our society..world over women are literally starving themselves to lose weight and to conform to certain absurd ideals of beauty..

@bold ans for ur que : size matters when relationships become less about true love n compatibility n more about how much the other person weighs.
in reality according to surveys it states tat size matters to guyz. there are many explanations to it.most of d dudes view as "having gorgeous women on their arms feel like a worthy, important, masculine human being" .the point is tat dudes like the effect tat a beautiful, slim, sexy woman has on their ego.they like the attention they get from the crowd of strangers r at reunions r frm frds if dating saying "a good catch"n if married saying like look wow he married so n so n he might be really some one n he really feels like he is some one. when partner changes her appearance n puts considerable weight ,her boost to his self confidence changes too. suddenly d guy can feel differently about himself ,not necessarily about her n tats d beeline to divorce court. all dis in shallow relationships based on how much other person weighs.
