Beware of the tharki Ortho PGs, they're always on the look-out for female students and interns to ask out. I sometimes feel sorry for them, every where else in Medicine and Peds, even in Surgery, there are a good number of female PGs and in Ortho there's probably 1 in 5 years.

Haha. Our Ortho Dept is actually nice. And, we don't interact much or at all with the PGs. It is usually the SRs or the profs who teach us. So, it is cool. And, yes. There is only one female Ortho PG in the entire department.

Has anyone watched the MS Dhoni trailer? Awesomeness. I'm looking forward to the movie. Just hope not to be disappointed. But SSR usually doesn't disappoint. I've enjoyed all of his work.till date. The only thing I didn't watch was the movie with Parineeti and Vani. Great actor.
BTW , what's happening in the TV industry these days? Mohit was sent off without a proper notice. Apparently his Ph has a history of doing similar things. I know about Sheban Azam because I read it here on IF and my sister told me too. But apparently , there are many others as well. And the lady who plays Angoori bhabhi has some very serious allegations against her PH. And this is the same one with the Parth fiasco . I thought only Bollywood was messed up. Esp this Kangna- Hrithik war. I like both od them and i dont know what to think of it. This industry is nasty.

P.S. There's an awesome underarmour ad featuring Michael Phelps. Just watch it. Seriously. I'm not a fan, although I am mighty impressed by his achievements at such a young age , but it brought tears to my eyes.

Congrats Archu!

Su, in my Ug n internship days the ortho dept was kinda like that. Best approach is pehle hi sabko bhaiyya bana lo.. On top of that my batch in internship was so gender skewed, i had the official title of OFI, ie Only Female Intern in most postings. I knew one ortho pg in my pg days, seriously gotta respect her yaar. As if the strains of doing a pg werent enough, the guys, profs n co pgs made life hell for her..

I was the only girl in the unit, too. 4 other co-interns and 4 PGs. Plus 4 staff, including the Prof. who headed the unit. I was shifted to the Female and pediatric ward with two of the PGs. One of them was super nice, and in a very elder brotherly way. I even used to rant to him about the other one, who sadly, was the senior most in the whole group and made me run in circles. I still hate him. All my co-interns were seriously wonderful guys, and we had worked together for almost 4-6 months by the time Ortho postings happened. There was one female Senior registrar. Man, she was fit and strong yet so feminine. You'd almost always see her with those tiny colourful bindis and cotton-silk sarees or suits. Literally , the epitome of modern femininity.

Lol. The only thing i ever did in my ortho internship posting was "arrange blood" for the surgeries. Once they asked me to hold up the leg for POP and i huffed n puffed so much to manage that, in their opinion that is, they deemed me fit only to arrange blood n dressing wounds. But yeah the entire unit ragged me in that big brotherly way.
In OBGyn as the only female intern i made the guys do all the running around while i had to do all the PV n PS. Yuck!

Just got to know about Mohit's show. How unprofessional is that. Poor guy. Hope he gets something better soon. Angoori bhabhi is a whole different story though. Read an interview of the producer in reply to hrr alkegations. He seems justified. Moreover Shilpa Shinde did that just to escape her contract so she can do that Kapil Sharma show. There was an rxclusivity clause.

And the Hrithik Kangana fiasco is getting murkier by the day. Dont know what to think. Either Hrithik is one very very innocent bakra or people are too naive.

Hrithik is an oversmart ass. Rather, he would like to believe he is one. Barring all the tonnes acting talent which sometimes also he doesn't use properly(when he hams like he did in Bang Bang), I have found him to be excessively annoying the more I grow up. He only does splendidly in larger than life roles like that of Akbar, etc. Give him a regular guy role like in ZNMD & he will ham away. Let us not even get started on how pretentious he is off screen. Kangana is insanely eccentric off screen, irrespective of her talent on screen. Methinks, this is only going to get murkier, thanks to Hrithik's desperate need to pretend to be the victim & the nicest guy around the block, & Kangana's need to give it back as good as she gets.
On another note, Kapoor & Sons has got great reviews. I am so tempted to watch it.

I am hosting the B'lore Ortho Society Conference tomorrow & day after.

And, our Ortho Dept is the coolest. They let interns scrub in. Won't let them do major stuff but small sutures, etc. Female students are encouraged too. They are surprisingly not sexist. Heck, they are in fact all for female students taking up Ortho. I had been expecting them to be the exact opposite after hearing tales of other college Ortho Dept's from my friends.

I know absolutely nothing about the TV-pur fiasco. Indian TV industry becomes more absurd by the day.

Oh I too used to arrange blood and do dressings initially, because they had 4 male interns 2 of whom were built like the Hulk. But then one day the Prof told the seniors I know she's petite, but let her assist . They realized I was very good at suturing and after that, I was asked to scrub in all the time. And just because I wanted to pull my weight , I even tried to assist in traction. It was okay till I had to do it on this rather huge man's leg. Sadly, his leg weighed more than all of me did back then , and I almost fell . So that was that. What followed was a lot of ragging about my weight and height and how I should eat proteinex. Except for that surly senior, all the guys were really nice to me. One even told me once that if he had a younger sister (he was an only child), he would have loved it if she were like me. I was honestly overwhelmed. Oh they re all for female students doing Ortho.
I like Kangana, even off screen, to be honest. She makes all these brash statements because she's basically flipping the finger at the industry that treated her like shit for so many years. I esp love her take on star kids. But I do wish she's learn to just focus on her career and not give a shit to all those shitty people. Revenge with class. Sadly, she has a lifetime of issues and pent up anger.
Hrithik is a good actor, but he's no naive bakra. And he can try till the cows come home, but no one's buying his innocent act. I have a friend whose closest friend from school lives in Mumbai and hangs in the same clubs as some of the A-listers from Bollywood. The whole industry apparently knows he was pursuing Kangna. And hanging out with her, but in secret. Hate such men.

Lol. Despite his claims & the flowery statements released during his divorce, nobody bought his victim, heartbroken husband act. The guy comes across as such a pretentious tool off screen. Everytime he opens his mouth, I wonder what the hell I had seen in him years ago when I had liked him. Then, I remember, it was actually what I hadn't seen-all his off screen shenanigans. But slow claps to the effort that was put into making the divorce proceedings seem like the act of a faithless wife, instead of in response to a faithless, cheating husband.
The only actor in the industry with a loud off screen life that I actually like is Ranveer. I usually prefer the actors just stay out of trouble. Kangana chases trouble. And, oh yes, she flips off the industry in more than half her interviews. I believe, she also comes from a family that didn't support her, to say the least. She has a devil may care attitude. She has clearly become a real threat to Hrithik'a public image. The issue though keeps getting dirtier, each day. It is unbelievable that it has reached this point.

He could pull that off with Suzanne, her family isn't as powerful as it once was in the industry. But Kangana will take him down, even if in doing so she goes down herself. Hopefully, the tit-for-tat mudslinging will stop and she'll concentrate on her career. BTW, do you know that back in the day before he married Suzanne( they were engaged at the time), there were rumours of him having a relationship with Kareena Kapoor? I don't know all the details of that , but apparently , his dad put a halt to it, and they haven't done any movies together since.
Kangana does chase trouble, that's true. Sometimes you just need to let go. Her success alone is her biggest revenge, on her family and on this industry and the countless people in it who took advantage of her.
