Shahid Kapoor's Wedding is No Soap Opera : Kareena

Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Mira Rajput in Delhi. On the occasion his former girlfriend Kareena Kapoor wished him a happy married life.

It was being said that Kareena Kapoor has been invited to the wedding, but she wasn't.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Kareena Kapoor said, "I wish Shahid well, and I am sure Saif wishes him the same. It (marriage) is a great journey, and a great feeling. It is a moment of happiness for him; don't turn it into a soap opera."

The media has been kept off limits for Shahid's wedding, but the newly-weds are expected to pose for the media after their wedding lunch.

Kareena added that the media should be restrained in its coverage of the wedding.

She also wishes happiness for Shahid and Mira.

"We should all understand that, and act a little restrained. I hope the media will do the same. It (Shahid's wedding) is not a movie. We should just stick to the fact that I wish him nothing but happiness and joy in his married life," Kareena Kapoor said.

Kareena is married to Saif Ali Khan and she vocally supports marriage as an institution.

Ever since Shahid Kapoor's wedding has been in the news, there have been speculations about everything related " the guest list, menu, venue, and more.

It was even rumoured that Shahid, who is getting married to Delhi girl Mira Rajput today (July 7) in Gurgaon, has invited his former girlfriend, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, and her husband Saif Ali Khan.

Kareena, however, clarifies that she hasn't been invited to the wedding. "I wish Shahid well, and I am sure Saif wishes him the same. It (marriage) is a great journey, and a great feeling. It is a moment of happiness for him; don't turn it into a soap opera," says Kareena, adding, "We should all understand that, and act a little restrained. I hope the media will do the same. It (Shahid's wedding) is not a movie. We should just stick to the fact that I wish him nothing but happiness and joy in his married life."

Asked if such rumours affect her, the actor says, "I think we love to make commercial potboilers, but I prefer to only act in them ... my life isn't a soap opera," says Kareena, who is currently in London, UK, on a family vacation.

Earlier, Kareena had said that Shahid had told her about the upcoming wedding. "We both performed at a recent event where he told me that he's getting married, before he told the media. I'm very happy for him. And I can vouch for marriage being cool," she was quoted as saying.
