Hi!! I'm super busy so forgive me for the long waitπ³
Chapter 7 - part 2
same as the first part ; in light you see shadows in darkness you see dreams...
Arohi sat, radiant against the setting sun, titling her head and watching Arjun approach. He extended his hand for her to grasp, as their fingers touched and their eyes met, she smiled dazzlingly.
Cut.
As soon as she heard the word Arohi stood up, smoothing her white skirt and anxiously looking up at Rishi who was running towards them. Arjun was still holding in to her hand.
'Done!' Rishi was saying.
'Thank god,' sighed Arjun. 'Who will explain that man, we're no actors? He's been literally murdering us!'
Arohi smiled at his choise of words as Rishi laughed.
'True, there was no need.' he said still chucking. 'You two have sparkling chemistry even without his efforts.'
'Shut up,' Arjun snapped. 'What brings you here? I'm sure you have other important business than teasing us,'
'Unfortunately is is business that brings me here,' said Rishi. 'You have a meeting with the sponsor remember?'
'Not for another two hours,' corrected Arjun.
'He want to meet both of you,'
'Why?' said Arohi abruptly.
'Hmm, I have no idea about that.' replied Rishi. 'But we should do as he asks until the launch at least.'
He watched Arjun's expression for a moment.
'What?'
'Nothing,' said Arjun. 'But this is the second time he spoiled our dinner plans. I hope he will not back out in the last moment again.'
'Perhaps he is sorry for that one,' said Rishi. 'It is a dinner meeting.'
'Well my idea of dinner doesn't involve three people,' muttered Arjun.
*
The moon hung so low in that cloudless deep blue sky. As if urging her in her plans, she had to tell him, the sooner the better.
'I knew this man won't come,' said Arjun furiously.
'Forget him,' sighed Arohi. 'Either he is very busy or very cunning,' she added. 'Perhaps he planned to send us on this dinner together.'
'He is a strange fellow. I wonder why mom's so scared of his dad.'
'You mom is out of my league.' replied Arohi the same moment a waiter arrived with a bouquet of white roses and a silver wrapped box.
'Compliments from Mr. Rajveer Singh,' he said.
Arjun accepted them with a I told you so look and handed Arohi the box.
She unwrapped it to reveal the clear ruby earrings that lay among the silk wrapping. Arjun was reading the card with the flowers.
'Apparently,' he said looking at Arohi. 'You were right. he says it is our wedding gift from him.'
Arohi snapped the box shut.
'Rubies were my childhood fantasy. But now I know prettier things exist.'
'So do I,' said Arjun, although not in the same meaning.
'Arjun,' Arohi said slowly after a moment. 'We need to talk.'
He stood up, extending his hand for her to take.
'Let's take a walk,'
She sighed, tangling her fingers with his as they walked down against the cold breeze.
'You don't have to continue this,' she said in a unemotional tone. She knew that the best way was the straight way.
'Define 'this' ' Arjun said calmly.
'We both know that this isn't what you hoped from a marriage. I just want you to know that you can end this empty relationship anytime you want.'
She imagined he would be hurt, angry even. But Arjun never failed to surprise her.
'What made you think that I want it to end?' He asked with a faint smile.
'You're too good for me Arjun.' She stopped for a moment. 'You deserve to be loved, and you know I can't...never'
'Never is a long time peanut, but you can't predict forever.'
'Broken dreams have sharp edges Arjun. I don't want you to star dreaming something impossible.'
He stopped taking her hands in his, grasping them in to a tight hold of warmth.
'I'm not as immature as you think I am peanut.' he said a little firmly. 'In fact I know life a little more than you do. I have no sharp edged dreams.'
'What about that happy home?' said Arohi. 'Someone who's broken to a length where they cannot be mended never makes a happy home.'
'Your definition of happy home is different from mine,' said Arjun, 'For me happy home is wherever you are, with me.'
His honestly made her wordless.
'I know I am not your ideal life partner or your love but that isn't what marriage is all about,'
Arohi opened her mouth but he cut in.
'Listen I'm not done yet. When my parents got married even they did not have what you call a happy home. They lost so much time finding their way to each other. But we are past that peanut, we stand here, we stand together. That is what matters, not living with each other, but living for each other. I am living for you, fro many years now.' he stopped for a moment. 'And you have an entire life time to learn and return the favor.'
He smiled at her as she watched him in astonishment. This wasn't the playful Arjun who was used to be her best friend. The man in front of her was much stronger, much wiser that her insecurities could not brake him.
'We'll fill this 'empty relationship' with memories unless it overflows one day.'
'I shouldn't have said all that.' said Arohi.
'No I'm glad you said it.' Arjun cut in. 'Had we not discussed that we would never have gone past it. There is only one thing you need to know peanut; once I take hold of something I never let go. No matter how and why the end result is that you're mine, and you will always be.'

Tara was pacing her living room waiting for Arjun to call her. She rushed to her mobile as it beeped.
there was a text.
I'm watching two lovers walking in the moonlight.
Gritting her teeth she dialed a number.
'Don't you dare!' she said in a furious whisper. 'Touch my family!'
Aditya chuckled at her tone.
'No I won't at the moment.'
He continued to chuckle.
'For it hurts more when you fall from a greater height!'
