Christmas and New Years were over, Kripa sat on Angad's bed admiring the view outside when Angad hugged her from behind

A - so........you were meant to tell me about your brother

K - yea......

Kripa stood up and sat by the window

***Flashback***

Kripa is sitting in her room reading, slowly the door opens and someone creeps in and snatches the book off her and runs away, Kripa runs after them

K - Karthik!!!!! give it back!!!

Ka - catch me first!!!

Kripa runs after Karthik, eventually both sit down on her bed and chat for a while when Suryaban shouts for Karthik

Ka - wonder what he wants?

K - go find out......

Karthik gets up and walks towards his dad's room, he finds him standing by the window

Ka - dad is everything ok?

S - sit down Karthik

Karthik sits down and Suryaban sits opposite him

S - son there is something you should know

Ka - what dad?

S - something that i have hidden for the past 18 years

Ka - dad.....wh.....

S - your not our son Karthik........(a tear falls down Suryaban's eye)

Karthik's face shows no reaction for a while then he gets up and smiles

Ka - haha dad, very funny, i'm going to m.....

S - Karthik it is the truth! You were switched at birth

Ka - wh....what? how?

S - my best friend......Aman Kapoor......i am where i am because of him.....your mum.....and his wife were pregnant at the same time but Aman suffered great financial loss when i asked to help he denied it

Ka - and.....

S - your mum and Aman's wife went into labour at the same time, your mum gave birth to twins.....a boy and a girl......and Aman's wife gave birth to a boy.......Aman realised that his son wouldn't get all the luxuries in life so he asked me for one thing

Ka - what?

S - to raise his son as my own.......to give his son all the things he would need in life......your mum had only seen Kripa.....and only knew that she gave birth to a boy...and i...i......i handed you to her and gave away her biological son to Aman and his wife

Ka - i.....i'm not Kripa's brother.......

Karthik fell to the floor, Suryaban stood up and sat down on the floor by him and hugged him, both cried

S - They raised our son and we raised their son.......but...

Karthik looked at his dad and realised more bad news was coming his way

S - son......Aman and his wife were in a major accident......while dying Aman confessed to Krish......our real son...that they weren't his parents.....and told him the truth

Ka (crying) - but...but what about me?

S (crying) - Krish is coming here.....to stay with us, i have told this to your mum and she has accepted this

Ka - does Kripa know?

S - no son........but i need you to do something

Ka - what dad?

S - i need you to leave

Ka - what!!

S - Krish will only come here.......if you leave, we're his parents, we want to see him...

Karthik pushes Suryaban off him and stands up

Ka - you want me to leave?

S (stands up) - yes, but before that........you need to seperate yourself from Kripa

Ka - no!

S - im sorry son.....

Ka - no way.......Kripa is my sister......i'm her brother! no one.....no one can change that or take my place!!

Karthik turned to leave but Suraban stopped him

S - don't you want your sister to meet her real brother? doesn't she deserve to know?

Karthik stopped and looked at his dad, he thought of Kripa and closed his eyes

Ka - ok.....i will do this....for Kripa

Tears fell down his eyes as he left the room......he was heading for Kripa's room but stopped and went to his and locked the door and cried.

Over the next few days Karthik stopped doing stuff with Kripa, he hung out with other people and stayed out late so he wouldn't have to face her........then the tragic night came.....when Karthik came face to face with Krish.....Karthik was driving down over a bridge when he saw Gayatri and Suryaban at a nearby bus station with a guy, Karthik stopped the car at the bridge and got out, he stood in their way

K - is this him?

G - Karthik son...

K - mum.....is this him?

S - yes.....this is....

K - Krish.......right?

Kr - yes....you must be Karthik......

Krish (Naman Shaw) put his hand out but Karthik didn't shake it

Kr - i thought you would have left my family by now

Karthik blood boiled, he made a move for Krish but Suryaban stopped him

S - Karthik will be leaving tomorrow.

K - but dad.....

S - please

K - fine.....so you're Kripa's brother

Kr - yes

K - ok so tell me.......what's Kripa's favourite food?

Kr - er....

K - burgers and chips.......what's Kripa's favourtie type of music?

Kr (looks at Gayatri and Suryaban) - erm....

K - hip hop, what does she study in school? Art

Karthik began asking questions and answering them himself

K - when Kripa was twelve, she fell off her bike and got hurt....where? (pointing to each are on his body) left leg, just above her knee, right arm, scraping her elbow.....

Kr - .............

K - on our 14th birthday, Kripa went out with her frist crush, who was it? Ryan D-Souza........and who beat him up for hurting Kripa?....me, who stayed up all night when Kripa was ill?....me, who bought her first car? Me

Karthik began pushing Krish towards the right edge of the bridge

K - who covered for her when she skipped school? Me, who covered for her when she got drunk? Me, .....

Kr - what are you......

K - you don't know anything about her and you claim to be her brother? why? because you have the same DNA? you *******

S - Karthik!!!

Karthik held Krish's collar and Suryaban pulled him off with so much force that Karthik got pushed over the edge of the bridge

K - dad!!!!!

S - Karthik!!!!

Suryaban looked over the edge and saw Karthik hanging for his life, Krish slowly walked back to get his stuff.......Gayatri screamed for help and Suryaban put his hand towards Karthik, as he bent over he was a car heading for Krish......instantally he went and pushed Krish out of the way, he got Krish up and heard Gayatri scream, he ran to the edge to see Karthik falling into the water

***Reality***

Tears fell down Kripa's eyes, Angad hugged her

K (crying) - mom and dad came home with Krish......they couldn't explain Karthik's death without telling me everything

A - what happened to Krish?

K - he bought a place of his own......with mom and dad's money.....they send him some money every month and he visits every so often

A - where was Karthik?

K - he said he washed up on some shore and an old aged woan and her grand daughter helped him out of the water, he fell into a coma and woke up 5 months later but had lost his memory.....he got it back 2 years ago, he had come back to see us but saw mum, dad and Krish........he saw them hugging Krish and thought they were happy he wasn't there

A - do your parents know Karthik is alive?

K - no......and Karthik doesn't know i know that he isn't my brother....

Angad hugged her tight

A - that isn't entirely true

K - how?

A - like Karthik said.......that just because you don't have the same DNA it doesn't mean that you aren't his sister........if you ask me then Karthik is your brother in every sense........it's the same with me and the guys, we come from different parents but at the end of they day we are brothers

Kripa kissed his cheek and buried herself in his arms......oblivious to Karthik's plan to seek revenge from her parents and Krish
