The sad part is that the court could have directed Salman to help these people, help their children, and take care of them instead of being overindulgent and slapping him with a 5-year sentence. And that sentence too has now been proven to be rash and devoid of full-proof logic.

What's important right now is for justice to be served and the only way I see it is by helping victims and directing Salman to foster such homeless people within his vicinity.

exactly!

Victim need compensation..and yes they should be given...but that in no way should reduce the magnitude of the sentence. No one should be allowed to pay their way out of jail...

His ex-bodyguard was a witness in the accident who said that Salman was driving. Salman could not help him as this is a legal matter & he would be accused of buying or influencing witness.

May his soul rest in peace but it's the police department who should have ensured protection to him & his family too deserted him then but now are giving statements.

Looks like either without reading or understanding, some people just want to blame Salman!!
Did they even read what the victims say? They all got compensated and Salman paid whatever he was asked by the court!! But they want more money...the family whose member died received 10 lakhs and mind you, it was a huge amount 13 years ago!! Either way it's understandable that they would still want more compensation, especially since a superstar in involved here! Had Salman gone out of his way in trying to help the victims apart from the court's orders, the same people who are questioning him about compesation would have been the first one to bash him again for trying to "buy" the victims lol...whatever he does or doesn't is questionable for some people!! Like I said earlier, some people are just hiding their hatred for a celebrity by putting on a jacket of humanity!!

Exactly! 👏
The compensation money is for paying for victims' hospital expenses, lost wages and in the case of the dead victim, to support his family after his death.
That money is in no way supposed to be blood money so that the drunk driver can slither his slimy backside out of going to jail.

If Salman doesn't want to do the time than help  the family of the victim.
God knows why they are still living in a Slum.

Don't mean just give them money either

but set them up with jobs and a  lively hood.

One guy lost his leg.

Why hasn't he been fitted with a prosthetic leg.

BINGO👏

Yup..media , this forum, whole India is obsessed with justice..no one cares what actual victims and their families want.

Not saying salman should not be punished, but ppl are more obsessed with salman and charade rather than helping victims.

And I am sure salman would pay them all if it can make this whole thing go away but it would probably not look good for him legally so probably lawyers advised him against it!
