Abhijit Chakraborty: Old professor of a famous university, he teaches in dept of Physics. A grave personality. Very wise and affectionate teacher. Extremely knowledgable, but is tired of life. Has lost interest in life.
Kamalesh Mitra: Assistant Professor of English, handsome young man, friendly and witty. Well versed in English and Sanskrit literature. But is a very talented musician. Thinks of music as an universal language, and is not at all like a teacher to his students but a friend. The darling of college. Friends say he has a gift of mind reading.
Paramita Chowdhury: Aunt of Kamalesh. An intelligent woman, sincerely caring for her family. Her sons admire her a lot. She is the guardian of Chowdhury family.
Kinshuk Chowdhury: Assistant Professor of Sanskrit, has a calm and devout nature. Handsome but shy and quiet. Has a heart of gold. Became very popular teacher soon after his joining. Currently doing post doctoral research on Mahabharat. Tries his best do make everyone happy.
Himanshu Chowdhury: Brother of Kinshuk, studying MA in English. Loves three F's the most "food, flirting and football.'' Inter-college football champion. Pranskter but a good man from heart.
Anshuman Chowdhury: Younger brother of Kinshuk and Himanshu, student of English Hons. Cricketer who has just got a call from Indian team. A genius student and beloved of all his teachers. A proud poetry lover. Reads all kinds of poetries and loves to write too. An all rounder but extremely down to earth.
Priyanshu Chowdhury: Student of Engineering first year, and loves daydreaming more than studying. Extremely handsome and a heartthrob of girls of his department.
Debanshu Chowdhury: Twin of Priyanshu, but not identical. Student of Philosophy, and an ardent book-lover. Speaks very less. Priyanshu and he are cousin to the Chowdhury brothers.
Supratim Basak: Head of the dept of Sanskrit section under whom Kinshuk is doing his post doctoral research. A storehouse of Mahabharat related knowledge.
Anupam Karmakar: An old teacher of a School in which Chowdhury brothers studied. Very loving to Anshuman. He still has connection with the Chowdhury family.
Nandita Saha: Kamalesh's girlfriend. She does a part-time job. Very moody and sensitive.
Labanya Sanyal: Studying MA on Sanskrit. A firm and fearless personality. Loves chatting with best friends and reading all kind of books. Very intelligent and helpful to others. Very moody, and choosy. But a true friend if she can be kept.
Priyadarshinee Roy: Student of English Hons. A shining student but sometimes chooses to concentrate on things other than studying. Simple-minded, innocent, with a loving nature. A very talented singer, draws people's attention in college functions.
Deepika Roy: Just finished her graduation on Sanskrit from another university. Totally loves the language, and deeply interested in Mahabharat. Wants to research in future. Loves discussing on Mahabharat wherever she can.
Debojeet Sanyal: Labanya's father. He is involved in politics. A very impatient personality, gets angry very easily.
Ayan Sanyal: Labanya's brother. Very loving to his sister but a supporter of his father too.
Sushant Sharma: Student of English MA first year. The leader of college union andalways wants to create a massacre everywhere, be it a classroom or union room. Expert in ragging newcomer students and in irritating girls. People can't dare to protest against him as he is son of the vice chancellor.
Nishant Sharma: Brother of Sushanta. Student of Sanskrit BA final year. A perfect sidekick of his elder brother.
Rahul Sen: Studying English, MA first year, best friend of Sushanta. A gifted student but cannot beat Anshuman though the later is junior. A talented cricketer. He has been dreaming to get a chance to play for Indian team since ages but still unsuccessful. A chain smoker and alcoholic. Wastes his talent callously.
Amitabha Banerjee: Ex-professor of Sanskrit dept who occasionally comes to take special classes. A researcher on Mahabharat and author of several Mahabharat-related novels. Very popular author. With his brilliant writing styles he has been able to create his own logic which made the readers rethink about the well-known epic.
