I agree Indians are racist when it comes to skin color but Bollywood is quite open in that matter..It has got dark skinned female actors for ages..Starting from Rekha there are plenty like Bipasha, Priyanka, nandita, DP, kajol(she is changed now but was dark skinned when she tasted success), Rani and others.
so Freida pls stop whining

is it an excuse, we have so many dusky colored actresses in BW.

So right about the scooter, how many women in india still work after marriage ? Only in capitals.

Many women work. Working women are not just confined to capitals.

And then there is informal labour in farms, factories, mines, construction sites, where women also work. There are self help groups in many rural areas and women are earning by making pickles, crafts, spices, oils etc.

All kinds of people and different beliefs exist in a country as large and diverse as India. Can't stereotype either way.

Things are changing. They have come a long way. They still need to change more. And efforts are on towards change.

In some areas if some people scoff at girls riding scooters then there are many areas where girls not only ride scooters and drive cars but also drive tractors. You cannot take one example and generalise entire country.

And like it or not, almost everywhere people show preference for fairer skin. Freida is citing it as reason for her rejection in Bollywood, which, is just an excuse because in past many dusky actresses made it in the industry.

While it is partly true, she is coming across as too whiny and critical these days. I think Nandita Das and Konkona Sen represent dark skinned Indians much better.
