Sandhya's Jewellery
Not just gold and gems, these were representative of the love, memories and blessings from her parents. Some families hold on to these items only for the mere 'familial' meaning of jewels. However, many people at one time or another have been compelled to sell gold for money or very tough financial situations. But what was Sandhya giving her jewellery for? A) Chavi - filthy lair who sold the jewellery without any feeling B) Saving the Rathi's respect in front of a very very understanding family such as Dilip's family who would have completely understood the situation C) Rathi family - a completely ungrateful bunch of people who never repaid Sandhya for this ultimate sacrifice.
So was it worth giving away your parents last memories?
- Some people will say that it is the least Sandhya could do in a tough situation. But really, was the situation that tough? Dilip's family is really nice about these things.
- Was it Sandhya's biggest opportunity to be wholeheartedly welcomed into the family? But why does she have to prove her worth? Was it worth it in the end?
- Other would say that the Rathis let her study and paid for her education. But isn't that the natural duty of the husband/family?
- Material items such as gold does not bring someone closer to deceased parents. But having that same jewellery being disrespected (sold in the black market at a super low price and then being brought by leechy people like Meena's mom) can hurt sentiments.
Wasn't giving away these precious jewels one of Sandhya's biggest mistakes?
The Rathis should repay for her loss.
