Durga Thakur comes to Kolkata from US. She is the daughter of Dr Dayal Thakur. During the Durga Pooja she meets the Goenka's who own the mighty Goenka empire of Kolkata.
There is a mystery around Durga as she vows to get back at Shaurya Goenka the son of Rajnath and Sakshi Goenka. She makes Shaurya smitten by her beauty, but Sakshi Goenka rightfully guesses something mysterious about her.
Then it is shown that Durga support NGOs and she takes care of a girl called Payal. Payal is a rape victim and at that point is mentally unstable. She draws pictures of Shaurya and gets fits whenever she sees the pic.
The Thakurs enter into a Cancer Research Project deal with Goenka's and slowly the viewer's are shown the real motives of Durga Thakur.
Durga Thakur is actually Nithya Mitra elder sister of rape victim Payal Mitra. Shaurya and his 3 friends had gang raped Payal. Goenka's with their might have changed the statement of all witnesses in favour of Shaurya. Sakshi Goenka blackmailed Payal into accepting a marriage offer and change the statement.Shaurya and friends escaped punishment as Payal retraced the statement that Shaurya didn't rape her.
Nithya while trying to escape from the goons who were going to kill her was accidently hit by the car of Dr Dayal Thakur and her face was damaged. Dayal Thakur adopted her, gave her the face of his dead daughter Durga. Now the only mission of Durga is to destroy Goenka's to avenge the injustice done to her sister.
She uses Shaurya and his womanizing habit to her advantage to get at each victims. She at first gets at Naveen Mathur who is the gate keeper of Goenka empire. She manipulates the clues in such a way that it looks like Mathur is the one who has been trying to revive the rape case and finally oust Mathur by the Goenka's themselves and land him up in jail.
Next she understands that Shaurya is running an affair with the daughter of the commissioner who had buried the DNA report of the rape case. She instigates the girl with Shaurya trying to get married and the girl forces her dad to propose marriage to Shaurya. Obviously Goenka's turn down the proposal. Commissioner tells the truth of the rape to his daughter and wife. Goenka's anyways transfer the commissioner.
Meanwhile Sakshi is not at all comfortable with Durga and her discomfort increases when she comes to know that Durga had made Shaurya give eyesight to a person called Madhusoodhan Bagchi. Modhushoodhan Bagchi is actually the dad of Divya Bagchi who is the sole witness of Payal rape case whom the Goenka's prevented from coming to court.
Sakshi visits Bagchi in the hospital and assures him that wherever his daughter is within 24 hrs Sakshi will find her. Durga is tensed. She wants to find Divya before Sakshi as she know if Sakshi reaches Divya she would kill her.
Sakshi paste the photo of Divya and put a prize money of 10 lac on her. In addition to that she uses Aakash her aide to get all info on Nithya and Payal. She gets Nithya's death certificate from hospital and also reports that Payal can never be cured. But Sakshi goes with a vengeance for Divya. Finally some goons see Divya and catch her to get the prize money.
Durga gets info that Sakshi has got Divya. Sakshi brings Mr Bagchi to the place where the goons bring Divya. Aakash also accompanies Sakshi. Sakshi questions Mr Bagchi and Divya about Durga. Divya says she doesn't know. Mr Bagchi says he met her in the rehab centre and she tried giving eye sight to him. He doesn't know anything more. Sakshi is not convinced and orders her men to kill them.
They tie Mr Bagchi and Divya in the garage and put fire to it. Meanwhile Durga reaches there and sees the scene. Aakash asks Sakshi to go. But she says till she is sure of Divya's and her father's death she wont go. Durga makes the noise of the police siren from her mobile which forces Sakshi to go. Durga rushes to save Divya and her father. In this mission of hers it is revealed that she gets the support of Aakash. Aakash actually turns out to be the mole planted by Durga.
They save Divya and her father and Durga makes them go away from Kolkata to a safer place.
In the meantime Dev comes from US. Dev is the son of Arnab Goenka and Suchitra Goenka. Dev has been the friend of Nithya since childhood and all the rape happened when he was in US. He was unable to be with Nithya during the trial time and after 2 years he comes back to know the truth.
Durga meets Dev and she is angry meeting him. Reason when she asked him help she got a reply that Dev will only be with his family. Dr Dayal meanwhile has a good opinion of Dev. Dev tries to know the truth. No one at home interested to tell him the truth. He gets the case files through his friend Gautham's wife Sonali.
Meanwhile Shaurya attack the architect of the Cancer Project and becomes the architect himself. Actually his profession Ganguly recommends him for that. Ganguly tells Shaurya is Gold medallist.
Durga remembers Ganguly as the man who tried to molest Payal when she asked him to speak in favour of her and gave testimonial for Goenka's.She decides to bring him down. With Aakash's help she bugs Ganguly's room. Durga gets the evidence that Ganguly runs affair with a student Nandini blackmailing her. She uses Sagarika Ganguly's daughter to expose him. Sagarika questions Ganguly but Ganguly slaps his wife and shut down Sagarika.
However for the anniversary party Durga switches the CD made by Shaurya and places the CD of Ganguly's domestic violence and affair and expose him. In the party even his daughter and wife turn against Ganguly.
Then the news come out that Ganguly has been giving fake degrees and Shaurya's degree is fake. Goenka's buries the news.However Shaurya confesses the truth to Durga. Durga uses this info and replace Shaurya from the architect post and recommend Dev for the same.
Dev joins the post as he wants to meet Payal and need Nithya's diary both of which he learns that Durga has access. Durga uses this aspect of him to create rift between Dev and Shaurya. Shaurya gets jealous of Dev's closeness to Durga and plans to kill him. He first attempts to run him over with a truck which fails. Dev feels the threat is because of he is trying to find about Payal rape case. So he gives the RTI files to Shaurya and also shifts his friends Gautham and Sonali so as to avoid any risk to their life.
Durga wants to know why Dev went to the place where the accident happened. She goes to meet Dev and in the process ends up knowing that Dev values the locket given to him by Nithya very dearly. She also comes to know from Gautham that Dev loves Nithya. Dr Dayal ask her to reconsider her opinion about Dev. But she remains adamant.
Meanwhile Sakshi tries to use Sekhar a friend of real Durga to expose her. Shekar comes with the evidence of Durga's birthmark during the pooja in Goenka mansion. Durga shows everyone the birth mark and oust Shekhar. She pledges that she will not enter Goenka mansion.
However Dev goes to her and apologizes. Durga remembers Payal recalling Dev as Sunshine the nickname he had given to Payal. She accepts his apology and comes back to Goenka mansion much to Sakshi's displeasure.
Shaurya plans a second attack on Dev with a Russian sharp shooter. He makes calls as if a exhortinist calling and lure Dev. Durga feels something amiss in the call and she along with Dr Dayal follows Dev and find him in a pool of blood.
Dev survives the attack and Durga comes to know the truth of Dev's absence. Her MU about Dev is cleared. Dr Dayal asks her to start a life afresh with Dev. Meanwhile Sakshi knows that Shaurya is behind the attack on Dev. She threatens him with CBI and ask him to stay away from Shaurya.
Durga learns this and decides to get engaged to Shaurya much to the chargin of Dr Dayal. However she takes Dev to Payal and also gives him Nithya's diary. A warm friendship starts between Dev and Durga. Durga hears the tender feelings Dev has for Nithya and Dev is able to open up to Durga which he has not been able with Nithya.
Durga plans a fake engagement with Neil to lure Shaurya and Shaurya walks into her trap much to the chargin of Sakshi and does a suicide attempt
In the hospital it turns out that Shaurya has done a fake suicide attempt. However family is unaware of it and Sakshi places the entire blame on Durga. Durga tells she will reply to Sakshi once Shaurya regains conscious. When the doctor tells family can meet Shaurya , Durga goes to him and confess her feelings to him and put the engagement ring in his finger.
Everyone is surprised. Both Sakshi and Dev feel something amiss. Even Aakash not happy with this. Dev questions Durga on the motive but she rebukes him. Anyways Sakshi goes to Thakur's place and put the proposal for Durga-Shaurya marriage which Dr Thakur agrees. They get engaged and on the day of engagement Sakshi takes Durga to a remote place and tell her something about herself. She tells about the orphan girl who snatched the food from a street dog and the hard way she became Mrs Goenka. Durga smiles
Sakshi wants to sabotage the marriage and Dev tries to find clues about Payal rape case. He goes to the medical centre shows Payal's pic and asks for her treatment report. News reaches Sakshi and Sakshi knows it is Dev who knows Payal's location. She decides she will use the info if her first attempt to sabotage marriage doesn't work. She calls a Pandit and makes it look like Durga's kundali has dosh. Durga breaks engagement. But Shaurya takes care of the pandit getting him arrested for jewellery theft of the Goddess. Durga feels happy as the Pandit is the one who had given fake character certificate to Shaurya during Payal rape case.
Now Sakshi uses Dev as a bait by providing him original medical report and reaches Payal location. On one side Dev is appalled at the cruelty shown to Payal, Sakshi does an emotional rape on Payal to stop Durga. Payal suffers a mental relapse but with Dr Thakur's support Durga bounces back and does not cancel the marriage.
Sakshi is shocked. Durga and Shaurya decide to go to Vaishno Devi temple. Meanwhile Dev get suspicious of Durga's actions and he feels Durga is actually hiding Nithya. He questions her and she evades. Their relation detoriates.
On the trip to VaishnoDevi Durga brings goons and they end up in an argument with Shaurya and leave him paralyzed. Still Durga does not call of the marriage making Sakshi highly suspicious of her.
Sakshi makes Shaurya aware of his medical condition and strikes a deal with Karan so that Shaurya rejects Durga in mandap.
On other hand Durga goes ahead with marriage plans and as she proceeds towards it her relation with Dev reaches the nadir as Dev doesn't want to meet eye with her.
However on the day of the wedding Sakshi's plan works and Shaurya rejects Durga. Sakshi proposes Dev's name for the marriage. Both Dev and Durga disagree. But Dr Thakur make use of the opportunity and strike a deal with Dev. He tells Dev that if he marries Durga that day he will see Nithya on Nithya's b'day. Dev agrees to marry Durga.
Post marriage the couple never meet eye to eye. Dev simply hate Durga and goes on with his search of Nithya, while Durga decide to expose Raima- Raj affair to Sakshi through Jatin Raima's husband.
While Dev pursues Advocate Agnihotri who was Payal's lawyer for the proof, Sakshi get suspicious of Aakash. She along with Shaurya decide to test Aakash. Aakash fails in the test as he didn't want to risk Durga's life. But Durga reaches the spot to save Aakash. Thus a new level of trust is formed between them.
Aakash reveals himself to be Akram Khan who is actually Sakshi's step son. He tells Sakshi had killed his father Akram Khan and he is trying to find the reason for the same. Durga promises she will find that and Aakash goes underground.
Dev gets hold of Agnihotri in Rajnath's name and the lawyer demands 15crore for the proof he has with him. Dev decide to get that and to raise money he sells shares. But Rajnath comes to know of this and he kills Agnihotri and get the video which shows Shaurya raping Payal.
Durga is perturbed Sakshi is unaffected by the tape and plan to create a show down. She invites Raima for the KC party. But things go awry when Raima blurts out about Payal and Dev ends up questioning her. Though Rajnath saves the situation Dev gets angry and tells he will meet Raima next day.
Durga writes a letter in Nithya's name and gives to Dev asking him to keep away from Payal rape case. Meanwhile Sakshi goes to Raima's place, send a sms to Dev and shoots Raima. Dev seeing Raima's sms goes to her home only to see her in blood which Raima's maid sees and accuse him of murder.
Based on Nithya's letter to treat Durga as his friend Dev calls Durga and takes Raima to the hospital. Raima survives the attack but goes into coma. Dev is arrested for her attempted murder.
Durga understand it is Sakshi's plot and vows to get him out in 7 days. While Durga struggles for clues to free Dev, Dev meets Navin Mathur in jail.
Though they fight initially Mathur understand Dev wants to avenge Shaurya for Payal's rape he tells everything to Dev including the bet kept on Nithya, its aftermath , how Goenka's manipulated the evidence and how Nithya ended up in a car accident.
While in prison Dev and Durga rekindle their friendship. Dev sees many similarities between her and Nithya. He also understands Durga is taking down people who have given false testimony during Payal rape case. He is intrigued and tries to understand the puzzle.
Durga finally manage to trick Sakshi telling Raima gained consciousness. When Sakshis' appointed nurse try to kill Raima she is caught red handed. Though Sakshi manages to make the nurse go away with the video recording Durga manages to get the release of Dev. Dev feels close to her
He goes back to prison, ask Mathur about the details of car accident. With the details he manages to get Nithya's death certificate and also the details of the car that hit her. To his surprise he finds out the car that hit Nithya was driven by Dr Dayal. He accuses Dr Dayal of Nithya's murder to which Dr Dayal tells Nithya is not dead. With all the clues so far he has got Dev realizes Durga is actually Nithya and he thanks Dr Dayal for saving her. He feels very happy to have his Nithya with him. However he decides not to tell this to Durga and as he wants her to reveal herself.
Rajnath starts blackmailing Sakshi for the video tape with which she blackmailed Rajnath for the marriage. He blackmails her as Akram Khan and sends her the video of Shaurya's rape and demands the tape in return for Shaurya's safety. Sakshi shifts Shaurya to a physiotherapy centre for treatment.
Not seeing Shaurya in house and Sakshi distracted Durga turns her attention towards Shaurya's friend Karan. She uses Divya as a ghost to terrify Karan. Dev decide to claim his position as chairman of Goenka group having majority shares with him. To stop him Rajnath announces Dev-Kangana wedding. But Dev wins vote of confidence and becomes chairman. Dev-Durga share a tender moment post his winning.
Durga succeeds in taking Kangana to Karan's farmhouse where he confesses his crime seeing Divya as ghost. A shocked and remorseful Kangana decide to support Durga.
Kangana finds about Karan's mother who is living a secluded life post giving a false testimony in Payal rape case. Durga goes to her with Kangana and asks Anuradha Basu to save Kangana. Anuradha agrees.
Meanwhile Durga also come to know about Akram Khan blackmailing Sakshi about some tape. She is shocked and asks Dayal to check about Aakash whether he has any clue. Dr Dayal agrees.
Shaurya actually gets cured of his paralysis but he continues in his wheel chair. His doctor Samjjhukta tells him he has been attacked by Martial arts experts. Using Mukherjee Shaurya find out the people and he decides to take revenge.
He plans a dinner date for Dev-Durga and at the same time goes to Dr Dayal's house and murders him. Durga is rattled with emotions when during the dinner date she is asked to dance with Dev and Dev opens up his feelings for Nithya. She feels sad she cannot reveal her true feelings for him and decide to visit Dr Dayal. But when Dev and Durga reaches they find Dayal in a pool of blood. Though he is taken to hospital Dayal gives Durga's hand in Dev and dies.
Durga feels more determined to avenge the Goenka's. However she refuses Dev's help. Dev feels sad at this. Shaurya comes home after frightening Samjhukta who discovers he has recovered. Dev also feels suspicious of Shaurya after he learns dinner date was planned.
Meanwhile Durga and Aakash manage to find out Rajnath is blackmailing Sakshi for the tape. They get hold of the tape from the orphanage where Sakshi kept it. The tape shows Rajnath killing Arnab Dev's father. Unknown to them Dev sees it and goes to murder Raj. Durga stops him taking Suchitra's name and includes him in her battle.
Basu Karan's father is forced to withdraw election nomination as his wife have sent a video to his party office telling them if Basu doesn't withdraw she will go public with information on Payal rape case. Goenka's are shocked by this. Both Sakshi and Shaurya decide to target Payal.
However Rishi takes Payal to safety as he is unable to see Payal again tortured. Durga comes to know Payal missing and she goes questioning Sakshi. Sakshi strikes a deal with her if she brings Nithya she will give Payal. Durga is shocked. She shares it with Dev. Dev decide to observe Shaurya. Shaurya decide to murder Dev. He plans with Tarun and give fake clue to Dev. Dev follows it.
In the meantime it is shown that Rishi didn't rape Payal. Infact on that fateful day he allowed Payal to escape extracting a promise from her she will tell no one. Payal asks Rishi to inform Durga and Dev. Rishi calls Durga and tells about Payal's whereabouts.
Shaurya is aiming at Dev and Durga calls. Dev takes the call and Durga tells about Rishi's call. Dev talks about Tarun's call. They are confused on who is right. Durga calls Aakash and checks on Payal. Aakash confirms Payal safe. Durga rushes for Dev. In the shootout that follows Durga gets hurt trying to save Dev and Dev shouts Nithya.
Durga knows Dev has known her real identity but she asks him to keep away from her if he is gonna call her Nithya. Doctor tells Durga that she has a clot if not operated she can die. Even operation have risk.
Durga asks doctor not to tell about this to anyone and she decides to get justice for her sister in 3 days.
Sakshi Goenka tries to protect Shaurya one last time by faking his death and sending him to New Zealand. She and Rajnath then devise a plan to implicate Durga in a case of Dr Dayal's murder.
But Shaurya does not follow their instructions and takes matters in his own hands. He decides to take revenge on Durga by tracking her to find Payal and hopes to attack her. He reaches Payal's hideout and tries to scare her after shooting Rishi and Akash who were there for Payal's safety. In his bid to scare her he confesses all his crimes as he threatens to make Payal go through same suffering again and handle Durga the way he handled Dayal.
This turns out to be a set up by Durga who knew Shaurya was faking his death and she records all confessions of Shaurya. Akash and Rishi also turn out to be alive as they got saved through bullet proof vests. Shaurya is given an injection to make him unconscious.
Goenkas are shocked to find Shaurya lying at home. Durga then reaches the place along with Dev, Payal, Suchitra and Aakash and tells them their game was now over.
It turns out that Durga had exposed all incriminating proofs of crimes committed by Goenkas on national television and given an interview to TV channels exposing real face of Goenkas. This leads to public outrage and Goenkas are shocked to find mob outside their house chanting slogans against them.
Durga tells Sakshi that she is Nitya and she fulifilled her oath of getting justice and destroying the Goenka trio. Sakshi admits she underestimated Durga and says she got a rival like her for the first time in life.
Sakshi, Shaurya and Rajnath Goenka get arrested and are produced in court. Their former victims and allies like Mathur, Payal and Rishi testify against them in court and the court orders lifetime imprisonment for Shaurya Goenka. Court also orders separate trial for Rajnath and Sakshi for killing Arnab Goenka, Agnihotri and Rehmat Khan respectively. Shaurya goes livid and accuses hismother Sakshi of being the cause of his crimes and tries to play innocent, putting all blame on her.
Sakshi cannot take it and is in denial. She begins to lose mental balance in the court after seeing her own son go against her. he court orders a mental health check up for her.
Durga and Payal make a powerful statement in court on discrimination against rape victims and corruption in system which favours the rich. Durga says Payal is a rape survivor and not a rape victim.
The court apologises to Durga and Payal for injustice meted out to them in past.
Sakshi, Rajnath and Shaurya get taken out. Shaurya is lynched by the mob and one woman spits at him for even blaming his mother who always protected him. A man blames him for bringing shame to males.
Durga faints due to the blood clot in her head and is rushed to the hospital. Her operation to remove the clot is successful and she returns home to Goenka mansion. Dev, Durga, Suchitra, Payal and Aakash have a puja at home to mark beginning of a new dawn.
Durga confesses to Dev that she loves him and would like to be called Durga only as Nitya was just a friend while Durga truly loved Dev. They hug.
Just then Durga gets a mysterious phone call and hears Shaurya's whistle at the other end of the line. She gets shocked and episode ends.
