You heard what I had done, but you didn't see what I went through. You saw the betrayal but you didn't see the emptiness. You saw the unkindness but you didn't see the tears. You saw the breakage of trust but you didn't see me tearing myself apart to keep others whole. You saw what you wanted to see, I showed you what you wanted to see. But, I hid me. Every day I kept on sinking a little deeper because nobody thought to save me. Or, maybe, I never gave them the chance. I am a human being. I make mistakes, gigantic ones. I know I am flawed, but so are we all. But now I've got you stuck in my heart, and I don't want to let go. But my heart is tired of fighting. Perhaps I needs to let you go...so there can be tranquil.
She's flawed too. She lies, but not in vain. She hides her feelings. She cares about him, and somehow that's her biggest problem. Somewhere between the hatred and the silence, she finds her mind wandering and each time it somehow finds its way back to him. She thinks she can easily let go, but her life has become warped around this one person, who has changed her in ways she's yet to realize. Who's made her become more of herself. If she is his mirror...the one who hides all his flaws. He is the awakening fire within her rising up like flames. He burns within her, and she trembles each time.
"But, storms don't last forever", she would tell him often, "because one day you will meet someone who will love you not in spite of who you are but because of it. That day being a thunderous, raging, storm, will become your ordinary, mundane. That's the person who they fell in love with; the wreckage is what brought them together midst star dust and glittering fireflies."
