CHAPTER - 12

Niranjan's Office

"Chachaji ,Jaisa humne plan kiya tha waisa kuch bhi nahi hua. Roka toh aapne cancel kar diya ,par ab age kya. Aap Shlok bhai se baat kyon nahi karte."

"Rishabh , maan lo humare kehne par Shlok Astha shadi kar bhi lete hain par hum unhe ek doosre par trust karne ke liye toh force nahi kar sakte aur agar shadi ke baad koi misunderstanding unke beech ho gayee tab hum kuch nahi kar payenge." Niranjan said

"Haan, hum interfere nahi karenge...na abhi ,na kabhi." Avdhoot said and Niranjan agreed.

"Agar Astha ko Shlok se shadi karni hoti toh who humse keh deti aur who janti hai ki hum kabhi mana bhi nahi karte,par I think baat kuch aur hi hai.unhe aapas mein hi solve karne do."

"chachaji main baat karun bhai se ...unhe sab sach bata dun."

"Nahi , Astha aur Shlok ko khud realize karne do...tere peeche hatne ke baad bhi Shlok mana kar sakta hai."

"Toh kya main sooli pe chadh jaun"

"Nahi aisa kuch nahi hoga...".

After 1 month

Days passed. Till now Shlok had made up his mind that he would happily accept both of them. He wanted to see her happy only. And also his family.

But the more he tries to forget her, the more she gets into him. He became distracted and edgy. His work had begun to suffer. But Shlok was least concerned about it.

Those days when he got to know that Rishabh had gone to meet Astha at her place, he would become insecure. The thought that Rishabh might be with her, made his stomach clench. The fact that Astha was young and beautiful and moreover now she had move on, may be now Rishabh would be interested in her. This all was so unbearable for him.

He was no longer Mr. Shlok Agnihotri, he was lost, he was alone inside and Astha was the real reason behind all this. It's been a month they had broken up, but even now Shlok's heart was craving for her to speak, to be with her, to see her innocent smile, her mysterious eyes.

Shlok was becoming restless day by day and the feeling was so terrible that he was shattered from inside.

Where Shlok was in a deep pain, Astha was on the verge of tears. Communication between the two was what was missing as she stopped calling or texting Shlok. She was trying hard to forget him, trying to hate him .She managed in forgetting whatever Shlok said to her that fateful night but badly failed in throwing out his memories from her heart. She was helpless, was unable to escape from the memories of Shlok. Everything that he did with her faded away except memories.

..Why I'm lost? Is it she, the reason behind? Things are the same, they haven't changed but then why I'm alone inside. And then I'm stuck to reality that she is here no more with me and then a drop of tear comes down to my cheeks and I feel so terrible and shattered inside. Yes, its been jus a month we've broken up..! Just a month...I'm surprised to see myself alive.

At the Party

Rishabh called Shlok,"bhai I need a favor...could you please come to the party." Rishabh had gone to his friend's party "if you are free..."

"as partner in crime?" Shlok asked

"Nahi bhai...kaisi baat kar rahe ho...Main address message karta hun"

After half an hour Shlok reached the venue, he parked his car at the parking lot and stepped out of the car looking around at the atmosphere. There was a house party going on. The house was magnificent.

The ambience was beautiful with flashy lights covering the boundary of the house even the lawn was beautifully decorated with lights. The Music there was not that loud but still made his skin tingle. He found there were not more than 50-75 people in the party, so it was bit packed and everyone was looking crazy whether dancing, eating or drinking. Shlok knew most of them and few girls were also known to him and some of his friends were dancing on the dance floor.

As soon as he entered the house, girls started swooning at his feet after all he was The Shlok Agnihotri, who was not just a millionaire but no woman could resist his charm. He was pulled inside and he also joined the crowd. After a few minutes, he comfortably sat at the bar counter and ordered a mock tail.

Where Rishabh has gone?

Suddenly his eyes stopped when he saw Astha dancing with Rishabh on the dance floor. He was shocked.

Last Christmas I gave you my heart

The very next day you gave it away

This year,to save me from tears

What is Astha doing here? Oh ...

Astha was looking breathtakingly beautiful. She was wearing beautiful spaghetti strapped floral printed purple floor length gown. The dress sat perfectly on her, flattering her figure. With matching Stilettoes. Her black hair hung perfectly. With her specs on and minimal make up.

Though both Rishabh and Astha were not dancing closely, but still dynamic were changed. Shlok knew he was far away from Astha and Astha was closer to Rishabh but he couldn't stop staring at the first night star.

Was that a deliberate action by Astha. Yes Astha already knew about Rishabh calling Shlok to the party but she pretended as if she was unaware of all this.

What Astha actually wanted? Even she didn't know.

Astha wanted to make him feel jealous...yess ...obviously. Did she want Shlok back in her life. And this was the only way she could bring up that protective side of Shlok for her as well as his romantic side. Romantic side ...who cares!! Shlok tried to move his eyes from her but he was really addicted to Astha, he again was thinking of sharing kiss with her. He really wanted to let out his pent - up passion and frustration. He had been waiting for this for so long...he wanted her...NOW.

Shlok was not comfortable, all negative thoughts came across his mind, he was angry, insecure and most of all he was jealous. Don't know but why he wanted to protect her precious thing from Rishabh. He blindly accepted Rishabh and Astha's alliance, having no idea that jealousy would explode into passion.

On the other hand, Astha looked more than happy .She was looking Shlok from the corner of her eyes and was loving the thrill of the chase.

Shlok noticed Astha's smile was a bit different. It wasn't an innocent one; this smile was expressing smugness instead of pleasure. If Astha was the only one who could read Shlok , then he was also the only one who could read Astha.

Damn Astha is doing this just to make me feel jealous. Astha, don't start all this again.

You can't love me...How could you? How? You have almost destroyed me, now you can't do this with Rishabh.

For Shlok, Astha was an elegant girl, who understood the importance of reputation, one of a cultured and dignified upbringing.

But this time she probably knew what she was up to and maybe he knew she did.

Girls out there were drooling on him like idiots and trying hard to impress Shlok and were showing off their hot moves in hopes of catching his attention. Whereas Astha knew Shlok was only looking at her but she ignored the stares she was receiving and kept on dancing .

"Shlok bhai achha hua ,aap aa gaye...mujhe abhi kuch kaam se Faridabad jana hai, aap please Astha ko uske ghar drop kar doge." Rishabh came to him and asked.

Got an opportunity. Opportunity ...really!!!

"Ok" Shlok agreed.

"Nahi koi zaroorat nahi...main ghar khud jaa sakti hun" Astha said.She sounded more like a rebellion, who crushed Shlok's male ego to the ground, under her elegant high heel.

"Astha ji, yeh delhi hai...12baje ke baad akele nikalne ka matlab risk lena. Aap please Shlok bhai ke saath ghar chale jana." Rishabh said sarcastically.

Rishabh went out of the party.

"Dance" Before Astha could say anything; Shlok held her hand and took her to the dance floor. Astha looked at Shlok with a puzzled look.

Khamoshiyan aawaaz hain

Tum sun'ne to aao kabhi
Chhukar tumhe khill jaayengi
Ghar inko bulaao kabhi

Shlok took her again to the dance floor and placed Astha's hands on his shoulders and he placed his hands on Astha's petite waist and danced silently. Girls felt jealous of Astha and boys were from Shlok and some were enjoying seeing them dancing.

They circled each other, their eyes remained locked. Nothing but short gasps of breath was to be heard.

"What are you doing at this point of time? Tumhare baba tumhara Disco laga denge." Shlok took the initiative by breaking the silence first.

"Disco??" Shlok he was hearing her naughty voice after a long time.

"Disciplinary committee" he replied with a mischievous smile.

"Nahi , unki permission leke ayee hun." Astha cleared the confusion

"Tum aisa kyun kar rahi ho" Shlok directly came to the point. His voice was blunt and straight.

"Kya?"But Astha was still playing with words.

"Making me jealous...intentionally"

"Oh you ...are?" Astha rolled her eyes, said wryly.

"Hi Shlok" a feminine voice came from behind. Shlok left Astha and turned.

"Oh hi Miss..." he forgot that girl and her name "sorry I didn't catch your name?"

"Shruti"

"Oh yaa...so you still like raisins?"

"I like dates too" girl replied replied seductively. Shlok was flirting with a girl in front of Astha. He used the same pick up line that he used once for Astha.

"Date...sure..." They exchanged their phone numbers and after few minutes Shlok came back to Astha.

"What was that?" Astha was looking at both of them and fuming with anger. Anger...or jealousy??? Astha asked angrily. She didn't understand what just happened.

"oooh...kisi ke jalne ki boo aa rahi hai" Shlok remarked, making fun of her" Those in glass houses should not throw stones" Now she understood.

And they again started dancing .As the song progressed she felt relaxed, and allowed a small smile to form on her lips. One thing was for sure... she was one lucky girl to receive a partner like him.

Shlok was happy as Astha was in his arms; she was his, his alone...at the moment. Shlok smelt good, like citrus and wood and all things gorgeous. Astha started encircling Shlok's neck, teasing him. Though he knew Astha was only ruining him with every passing moment. But the darkness still held him. At the same time, he could not resist her, though he had to. He pulled her impossibly closer as two people slowly resembled one.

Help yourself Shlok ...

"Missed me?" asked Astha

"Haan, kaam mein khud ko busy kar rakha hai." Shlok didn't dismissed her query, instead he replied her.

But unable to finish the most meaningless of projects and unable to concentrate on my ongoing assignments.

"Is that working?" as if asking for herself.

"No..."

"Then..."she sighed. Kya phayeda

"Alcohol, had sex with girls so as to get rid of your memories. Tried to banish you from my heart and my soul, tried to curse you...still trying but all in vain."Dev put out his heart "But you don't try any of these ideas of mine, all these are useless." Dev laughed. He knew Astha was asking all this for herself, so as to get out of his memories

For once she felt terribly bad for Shlok. She left him when he needed her the most. His healer left him.

Astha looked at Shlok and he looked at the most bewitching eyes. He turned elegantly, his body in tune with the slow music. The warmth between them grew more powerful by the second. Their dance was perfect; everything from their breathing to how their feet moved stayed in sync.

"Now we must go home" Shlok had to go away, he had to.

Both came out of the party, sat in the car and went from there.

"How are preparations going on?" Changing the topic, Shlok asked

"Good" she smiled

"You look happy" Shlok wanted to confirm.

"Of course I am. How is she?" Astha changed the topic this time.

"Who?" Shlok asked narrowing his eyes.

"Saumya ?"

"Good...she is not in India these days"

Toh sex...oh again random girls...

"Oh...toh kaam mein apne ko busy kiya hua hai"

"Haan, 12-1, kabhi kabhi 2am tak office mein hota hun".

"Really..." Astha said stiffly...again a lie

"Hmm"

"Oh shut up...whom are you fooling Shlok ...kaun itni raat meetings karta hai? You can tell me about your partners...umm...sex partners" she sounded more than confused but wanted an explanation...WHY?

Shlok froze for a moment. She thought that she caught Shlok.

"You are impossible Astha ...I was just joking." Shlok chuckled. Astha gave him a disgusting look.

"So, any one satisfied you?" she was curious now.

"I just can't believe that we are talking on such a topic..."There's nothing like that" Shlok tried to explain.

"Anyone...satisfied you?"

"No...not yet." He said finally "let's change the topic."

"Why?"

"Astha, you are getting married to my brother. Don't do this."

"So, have you forgotten me?"

"Astha, don't start all that again. Stop playing with me. I am afraid, you'll hurt yourself. We should stop it. It's not good for any of us"

"ghar aa gaya." Astha said. Shlok was relieved, finally.
