Officially Revealed: Pooja Bhatt's Cabaret' Girl

Looks like Pooja Bhatt is in awe of Richa Chadha. Just a few weeks back, Pooja announced the film by Shagufta Rafiq starring Richa in the main lead role. Now after a hiatus of few years, Pooja has reinvented her dream of making Cabaret, a movie which was in the news 2 years ago but never took off. Reason being that Pooja couldn't find the apt face to play the female lead for the movie as she wanted somebody who is a trained dancer and whose sensuality is raw yet gripping. Seems like after meeting Richa, her desire to finally kick start the much talked about film has come back.
Confirming the news, Richa said, "I was looking for a script that exploits my dancing skills, along with giving me an opportunity to perform as an actor. Also, dance is a medium which needs to be explored more in our films, because it is pure physical expression. But most important, it's Pooja Bhatt which has been a big source of encouragement to me since the day we met, and I am grateful for her belief in me and willing to go the extra mile for her and for this."
Richa Chadha will play the leading girl in Cabaret, a film that will see Richa in a whole new avatar altogether. Not many know that Richa is a trained dancer and has excelled at many forms of dance including Kathak, Jazz and has even worked with Shiamak Davar's troupe a couple of years ago.
She will be giving an ode to many famous actresses from 60s and 70s, the years when cabaret dance was extremely popular in both western and Indian films. Richa will soon begin training under intense regime to perfect the body of a cabaret dancer.
