Aditya Roy Kapur received a fan letter written in blood

Back in the '60s and '70s, it wasn't uncommon for actors like Rajesh Khanna and Dev Anand to receive fan mail written in blood. But today, with social media having made communication with Bollywood stars far more convenient, and less painful, you don't hear of too many such instances. So, when Aditya Roy Kapur recently found out that a female fan had sent him a letter written in her blood, the actor was quite shocked.

On his birthday (November 16), Aditya was shooting in Kashmir for his next film (being directed by Abhishek Kapoor). As a result, fan mail had piled up at his residence in Mumbai. "His staff at home was sifting through the mail, when they found one letter that had been written in blood. It had been sent to Aditya by a fan from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. In the note, she had repeatedly expressed her desire to marry him," says a source close to the actor.

Although Aditya has been receiving fan mail for a few years now, this is the first time he has received a letter written in blood. "Because his team was taken aback, they immediately contacted Aditya in Kashmir and told him that he had been sent a letter like this. While Aditya was extremely overwhelmed, he was also shocked," adds the insider.

When we contacted Aditya, who is still shooting in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, says, "I didn't know how to react when I heard about the letter. It was surprising and heartening at the same time. I owe everything to my fans, and I'm extremely grateful for all their love, but taking it this far is a little worrisome."
