THE CLASSIC LOVE SAGA
Six minutes to six, said the great round clock in Grand Central Station. The tall young handsome Army Lieutenant Asad ahmed khan narrowed his eyes to note the exact time. His heart was pounding with a beat that shocked him because he could not control it. In six minutes, he would see the woman who had filled such a special place in his life for the past thirteen months, the woman he had never seen. But her written words had been with him and sustained him unfailingly. Four minutes to six.. His heart was racing. At exactly six o'clock he was going to meet the girl whom he thought he was in love with but had never met.. He had corresponded with her for over a year, but he had never met her or seen her picture ...This is what had happened...
While he was training as a fighter pilot in the training camp in florida, he happened to go to the library and checked out a book on human bondage ...As he flipped through the pages, he noticed that someone had made notes in the margins. Reading the insightful observations in beautiful handwriting, he said to himself, I would love to meet whoever wrote these notes; they seem to be so kind, gentle, and wise. He had never believed that a woman could see into a man's heart so tenderly, so understandingly...
He looked in the front of the book and saw a name:zoya siddiquie, New York City. He decided to try and find her. With the help of a New York City phone book, he found her address and wrote her a letter. The day after he wrote her, he was shipped overseas to fight in the war.
Surprisingly, zoya answered asad's letter. The two corresponded back and forth throughout the war. "Her letters were just like the marvelous notes she had written in that book," asad recalled. "She was so comforting and so helping."she was the lady behind his strength and skill".
One time asad confessed in a letter that he had been scared to death when he'd found himself surrounded by enemy planes. Zoya had assured him that all brave men are afraid at times. She suggested that the next time he felt fear, he should imagine her voice reciting, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me."
As they continued to write, asad began to realize that he was having romantic feelings towards zoya. He wrote, "Send me a picture," But she had refused all his pleas to send him her photograph. That seemed rather bad, of course. But she had explained to him..If your feeling for me has any reality, what I look like won't matter. Suppose I'm beautiful. I'd always be haunted by the feeling that you had been taking a chance on just that, and that kind of love would disgust me. Suppose I'm plain Then I'd always fear that you were going on writing to me only because you were lonely and had no one else. No, don't ask for my picture. When you come to New York, you shall see me and then you shall make your decision. Remember, both of us are free to stop or to go on after that - whichever we choose..
Still, he was intrigued by this woman and longed to meet her in person. Finally that day came when he was able to return to the States on leave. He mentioned in one of his letters that he was coming home and would like to take her to dinner. She arranged to meet him at Grand Central station at 6:00 p.m. by the big clock. . "You'll know who I am because I'll be wearing a red rose," she wrote.
Now he was going to hear her real voice. 1 minute to six.
A girl passed close to him, and Lieutenant asad ahmed khan's heart skipped a beat. young woman, her slim figure capped off by an attractive face framed with curling blond hair her thick hair lay back in curls from her delicate ears. Her eyes were chocolate brown, her lips wer like those of strawberry. she had a dimpled smile. In her pale green suit, she was like spring come alive. She was wearing a flower, but it was not the little red rose they had agreed upon. Zoya told in the letter she would wear a brown coat and a red rose in her lapel and asad told he would hav her book on human bondage for his recognition.. Besides, the girl was only about 22, and zoya siddiquie had told him she was 30. "for which he had bluffed (lied) and told He was 32. Though he was 28"
Though he felt some kind of strange magnetic pull around her...he couldn't take his eyes off her...
He started toward her, forgetting to notice that she was wearing no rose, and as he moved, a small, provocative smile curved her lips.
"Going my way, soldier?" she murmured naughtily.
He made one step closer to her. Then he saw zoya siddiquie.
She was standing almost directly behind the girl, a woman well past 40, her graying hair tucked under a worn hat. She was more than plump; her thick-ankled feet were thrust into a low-heeled shoe. But she wore a red rose on the lapel of her brown coat. ...lik she wrote in the letter red rose on the lapel of her brown coat..
The girl in the green suit was walking quickly away.
Asad felt as if he was being split into two, so keen was his desire to follow the girl, Asad was torn between his yearning to follow the girl and his need to remain faithful to his friend,
He stopped cold, utterly torn between following the winsome young beauty in the green suit and keeping his commitment to the woman whose letters had so uplifted him during the war.
yet so deep was his longing for the woman whose spirit had truly companioned and upheld his own; and there she stood. He could see that her pale, plump face was gentle and sensible; her grey eyes had a warm twinkle.
Lieutenant asad did not hesitate. His fingers gripped the worn copy of Human Bondage which was to identify him to her. This would not be love, but it would be something precious, a friendship for which he had been and must ever be grateful... a frndhip for lifetime
He squared his shoulders, saluted, and held out the book towards the woman, although even while he spoke felt chocked by the bitterness of his disappointment
"I'm Lieutenant asad ahmed khan and you -- you are Miss siddiqie. I'm so glad you can meet me. May - may I take you to dinner?" as I promised
The woman's face broadened in a tolerant smile. "I don't know what this is all about, son," she answered. "That young lady in the green suit, she begged me to wear this rose on my coat. And she said that if you asked me to go out with you, I should tell you that she's waiting for you in that restaurant across the street. She said that it was kind of a test."
Asad was surprised by her words...and thanking the lady he moved towards the restaurant . As he reached the restaurant, he felt nervous. He adjusted his neck tie and coat, and walked into the restaurant through the corridor
And ther he saw zoya siddiquie in green suit the gal who he was attracted to...very beautiful and angelic waiting for him with a dimpled smile...she was only 22
Asad still confused approaches her with amusement and asks .. are u zoya siddiquie with whom I was corresponding for 13 months
Zoya : yes Mr soldier...I am your zoya siddiquie ..I was the one who was corresponding wth you for 13 months through letters and tht book of human bondage is written by me...I simply wanted to test ur loyality ...
Asad : you are the most beautiful thing tht ever happened to me..i still cant believe it...
Zoya : Then open ur eyes MR soldier its not a dream..and yes u hav passesd in winning the battle of love
you r a true gentleman I know u were attracted to me..but still u chose to meet the lady who gave u inspiration and strength and tht makes u a pure heart ...
Asad : knelt down and kissed her hand like a gentlemen... since I won the battle of love i would like to tell u my lady ... I have a heart and that is true and now u reside in it, so without any delay I would like to give u a gift
Zoya : wht gift Mr soldier
Asad : he gives her a medium sized box covered in white wrapper
Zoya : opens the medium sized box to find 2 more smaller boxes and the last box she opens she finds a beautiful watch which is inscribed "marry me" ..bg music
sajde mein yun hi jhukta hu, tum pe hi aake rukata hu
kya yeh sabko hota hai
humko kya lena hai sab se, tum se hi sab baate ab se
ban gaye ho tum meri duwa
khuda jaane ke main fida hu, khuda jaane main mitt gaya
khuda jaane yeh kyun huwa hai, ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda
Thus this os tells us abt two people who never saw or met each other but only corresponded through letters went on to become lovers and true soulmates
