Darpan(Ananya Agrawal) lives with her Father Mahesh Karnik(Aditya Redij) and Mother Prabha Karnik(Shweta Munshi) in Dalma Jungle of Maharashtra as Mahesh is a Forest Ranger. Prabha is Pregnant and darpan prays to her gannu saheb(A tree having the shape of Lord Ganesha) to bless her with a brother. VishwasRao tagdu patil(Sudesh berry) is a Poacher but in Front of people his identity is of a respectable strong politician but Mahesh knows very well about him and wants to put him behind bars. Prabha starts having liver pain and Mahesh takes her to hospital but in between the route he hears of an elephant in danger and Sends Prabha and Darpan with their servant and himself goes on to save the Elephant whom a Person wanted to kill. The Person worked for Vishwas rao and he had made several openings in the land to trap the Female Elephant. Unfortunetely Prabha's Jeep falls in one of the land openings and the same elephant pulls out their jeep and again runs to save her life but then falls in one of the traps and the man shoots her. Mahesh comes at the moment but couldn't save the Elephant.Vishwasrao's wife's name is Meethi and she can't give birth to kids and is suoernegative. Two younger brothers of VR Suryapratap and his wife Sheetal(Piyali Munshi) and the youngest Devpratap(Aniruddh Dave) who is a stammer is about to marry a girl payal. Sheetal and Surya are the ones positive in the house and their kids pinky and sanju never respect their words. Raghav an orphanage kid also lives with pinky and sanju. At hospital Prabha looses her baby and in the Jungle the Elephant fighting for her life delivers a baby and dies after that. Darpan believes gannu maharaj sent her brother in the form of Elephant and makes him her Brother and names him Ganesh. Story takes a 3 year leap where Darpan turns 9 and Ganesh is a 3 year old. Darpan starts going to school and a tutor Shakuntala Rane(Sushmita Mukkherji) tries teaching darpan by beating her and both darpan and ganesh teaches her a good lesson. Vishwasrao intensionally befriends darpan and through her he manages to trap Mahesh and Mahesh is suspended. Now Mahesh is known as a theif in dalma. Darpan is resticated from school. VR arranges for a childrens day party and Mahesh thinks it as a chance to prove himself innocent befriends VR and enters his party where he collects a big proof against VR and saves it in a memory card. Darpan still is unknown to what VR did with her father. Whn VR knows of mahesh's plans he kidnaps Prabha and threatens to kill her. Mahesh hides the proof in darpan's locket and asks her to never remove the locket from her neck. Whn Mahesh refuses to give the proof, both Prabha and Mahesh are killed. Ganesh tries saving Mahesh but he falls in river and before tht asks ganesh to make a promise to care for darpan always. Ganesh hides the fact of Mahesh and prabha's death with darpan and whn darpan knows it she asks ganesh to go away and he is not her brother from now. Darpan turns orphan and is taken to VR's house since VR feels Mahesh is alive as his body is not found and will come behind darpan one day.At patil house darpan is harassed everyday and Shakuntala also returns to create more troubles for her, its revealed that she is the sister of VR. Dev shows his lust towards a dancer kajri(Snigdha Akolkar) and when she protests dev tries molesting her on the day of his marriage. Inturn dev-kajri are married. Though Kajri is a strong and positive lady in the house who is trying to change dev and is supporting darapn. Darpan misses ganesh and at the jungle an animal activist Narayani Deshpande' saves ganesh from some people and she takes ganesh to patil house where darpan-ganesh are united. For ganesh's care, Narayani for few days is living with patil family. It is soon to be revealed that VR and narayani had and affair years back and Raghav is their child.
