I sort of get the feeling that Ekta no longer cares whether this show remains on air or not because the kind of risks that Ekta is taking in showing this event and Jalal's atrocious behavior would have been most unlikely even a few months back.
The most jarring thing in all this is Jalal has gone from a monster to saint and then again a monster. In real life Akbar slowly grew out of his violent phase as he embraced spirituality, he never bobbed in an out of it like this 'natkiya rupantar'.
The siege and destruction of Chittor is a very sensitive subject well beyond the capabilities of this pathetic bunch of CV's.
In those times, such wanton destruction was deemed necessary to give a message to others resisting. Every medieval and early king, has a massacre or two to their names. Alexander the Great, razed entire cities to cower the Persians into submission. We all know of Asoka.
The treatment of this is very complex, that is why most histories try to leave it alone. If you are brave enough to attempt a well researched depiction, it becomes compelling to watch. Not so in our case, that was pathetic. It should have been avoided because I can't understand what purpose it served. Turning your hero into a blood thirsty fiend, does that make sense.
