Oh, Is that Mahi? No, it's his past forward | ||
Anticipating the ball. A lofted drive. And, phew! Time for drinks. Ranchi College Ground in Morabadi on Monday hosted reel-life Mahendra Singh Dhoni, aka actor Sushant Singh Rajput, as he padded up to recreate an interschool tournament scene for a biopic by Neeraj Pandey, where our current Captain Cool drove a double-century knock to create cricketing history in the late 1990s. In the real-life match, Mahi and his childhood friend Sabbhir Hussain had exhibited a jaw-dropping partnership of 378 runs, aided by his unbeaten 200.
Director Pandey's upcoming endeavour - MS Dhoni: The Untold Story - will be shot in the capital for a few more days. On Sunday, the crew had filmed an examination scene at JVM-Shyamali, Mahi's alma mater. Monday's shoot was a magnet for passers-by and schoolchildren, some of whom scaled walls of the nearby Ranchi University campus for a sneak peek. Tight security, which included private bouncers, left many disappointed though. They will now have to wait for the expected 2016 release of the film. Text by A.S.R.P.
