How wrong I was. This world that shoved him away with despise has given him the title of "Daanveer," they won't leave him before having its requital to the fullest. He has to offer every bit of his breath, existence, emotion, heart even his soul. Giving everything only, he may finally attain his freedom.

Finally, two cold eyes brighten with a glimpse of smile, "I am betting on a lost battle, where either I lose or I lose. Still I will die in this war, undefeated. They took honor of a warrior's life from me, I won't let them snatch the glory of warrior's death."
I only asked one thing. Why her love for me came so late, just before the battle? But I wasn't expecting an answer. She came with an expectation, I promised her to leave her four sons, alive."

These are my favorite quotes from the update

I loved the way you have written Abhimanyu's death...yes he must have been in the same turmoil
"I don't want future to know me for my Digvijay, but for my daan, and my friendship."

"Don't touch her, let him sleep." I never knew such anger, such austerity could come out of my voice.

"You did your duty third Pandav, only if the arrow penetrated his chest, I wouldn't have any complain. He didn't deserve an arrow in his back."
"Right comes along with duty, Mother. You can't claim even a bit of God's blessing once you discard it."

"Your husband was a great human being. His story will inspire many in future .." I wasn't listening much only observing the speaker, Yadav-Sresth Krishna. Many say he is the avataar of Vishnu, indweller, omniscient. Today I really want what they is true. No, not because he was saying kind words for my husband. But because I want him to read my heart, those unspoken questions, complains I have to God, to all, to this world.

This too is a wonderful para

"Forgive me Pavan-Putra, Dharmaputa is most virtuous man, his nobility is imperishable. But this sinner deserves to earn the little virtue of doing the pyre of my husband. Let the friend of Sutaputra do the cremation of the Aditya-Nandan." Said the queen of Anga.

I soo want to believe this happened truly...

The flame rose up and up towards sky, towards the Sun as like it is trying to return in its ultimate adobe, like it is praying to be one with amorphous omnipresent.

oops it is giving me goose bumps, what lines are these and the Rabindra Sangeet Aguner Porosmoni very well fitted here and yes again it left me in tears though you tried hard not to make us cry, still can't help it..Its Karna's death and his wife has said very rightly

When did his wish is fulfilled in this earth! I can clearly see in future, he won't be remembered for his daan or for his archery but for his tragedy first.

Irony but very true...

So existence of Karna's wife gone with his pyre, may be that's why Shivaji Sawant sir has written in his legendary novel Mritunjayi that at the Karna's wife jumped at his pyre...

thanks for your long comment Panchu .. I agree with what u say about Karna's wife's existence .. today I was listening to a song from Zubeda .. "Kho gaye hum .. so gaye hain dil ki apsaane" n I felt this is exactly happen to so many women of epic as well as history .. there was a very significant line at the end of film "Lagaan" .. "Itihansh ke panno me kho gaya" .. many people many lives many existence goes down in oblivion .. People see Tajmahal n think about Sahjahaan, who think about the poor architects n sculptors who made this wonder?? .. they will be happy to have a love story with Taj but what about the tragedies of the creators ?? History is silent, myths are ignorant .. this is Tragedy of Human Life.. some are glorified some are "Forgotten" ..

I have said it before and saying it again.. I love the language you use. Your choice of words...
I loved it you describe little details yet you leave space to imagine.

I am sorry Raghu I really n strongly DISAGREE here .. I despise to call a woman like Kunti a "Mother" .. I strongly believe Woman becomes Mother not Giving Birth but Giving LIFE .. A woman who abandon her child in high current of river just to have the "PERFECT STATUS" in society CAN NOT be a Mother.. I could have been sympathetic to her if she herself gave Karna to someone for adoption, I wud have been okk .. I have said it before,

There is a difference between a helpless mother leaving her child in an "orphanage" n a woman leaving her child on road or near vat or something .. Kunti's act was like the later one

Radha was Karna's TRUE MOTHER .. unfortunately Kunti was the woman who bought Karna in this world .. Karna may have a soft corner for Kunti but I don't think his wife will have .. at 1st chapter I gave a hint how she felt about Karna's then unknown mother

However, few days ago I was stunned to hear same things from my Jemma (my TaiJi) .. she too feet the same way about Kunti n I was so surprised seeing her hatred for Kunti .. An elderly woman like her can see things from a mother's POV .. n I felt those words were enough for me

Finally, yes I agree doing duty is must for having right over someone .. the woman is throwing her child on the road can't come back with her claim of love over her child .. can she??

It's perfectly fine to disagree. I can see the strong logical arguments you have put forth. I don't think she threw without being aware of Maa Ganga. I am not sure kunti consulted or took consent from Surya dev. This is where we need more clarity from Vyasji. Maa Ganga gave birth to Bhishma, why can't she take care of Karn or ensure he is in safe hands ? What about our great Surya dev ? Duty of a father is to show the right path , take Karn to a proper Guru . Did this happen ? If you read the story from a gross level it would sound utter injustice to Karn. I understand we all read it as a story but should not we seek much deeper , decrypt the message ?

I absolutely agree with the line in bold .. The Message is important .. I consider all the supernatural aspects of Mahabharata or any other epic n mytho [Indian, Greek, Egyptian and all] as indication towards some hidden truth .. these were fine and wonderful trick to cover the "forbidden Truth" and leave it for future to decode the riddle (read myths) to get into the fact

Karna's father Sun God is definitely an implication of a man someway could earn a comparison with the mighty star .. may be for his glory, bravery or aura or whatever .. I believe that's why he was called Son of Sun God .. same goes for Ganga .. I don't know if I am able to explain it properly, if there was a translation of Dr. Deepak Chandra's books I wud have quoted him.. but as I am not convinced with supernatural elements and look for a possible explanation of them, definitely things get lil different
However, the point is I feel floating a new born baby in a river, no matter if the river is Ganga or Thames, is a cruel thing to do. I still can understand when Moses' mother does it for saving the poor child but Kunti had no such intention .. all she cared for her Social Identity .. I am not saying Karna's father wasn't responsible for his painful life n death but that doesn't give a bit of justification to Kunti's act

Anyway, this is my POV .. purely based on logic .. hope I am not hurting u anyway😊

Words fail me to express how I felt after reading the concluding part of this beautiful emotional story of karna & his wife.

I loved the part where Karna was telling to his wife about Abhimanyu, how Karna saw his lost son Sudaman in Abhimanyu. He did his duty as a warrior but lost another battle by being part of his nephew brutal killing.

I also loved the part when Karna's wife gave the right of lighting the funeral pyre of Karna to Duryodhana and the entire convo between Pandavas, Kunti & Vasudev. Very well written and good choice of words.

thanks for this lovely comment .. very glad that you liked the Sudaman-Abhimanyu thing .. I only tried to write the a father's heart can act here .. n happy that you liked the last convo .. I took creative liberty to portray thing the way it should be .. thanks for accepting it

You haven't hurt me 😊, I am No fan of Kunti. Mothers love works in different ways.
BTW,
I know the kind of answers I would get from logicians. One of the reasons why purans are not agreed by some section
