Meneka is just creepy. That Sunanda is even creepier. BTW that was my grandmother's name. Sunanda. She was my mum's mum. Nothing like this women though. She was a lady! :)

Sunanda is a Sanskrit name. That is why my grandmother had that name. Sinhalese is very close to Sanskrit, so it is quite similar to old Hindi. We have a lot of words in common. That is why some Sri Lankan and Indian names are identical. This name is pronounced in India exactly the same way we pronounce it. Because it is Sanskrit.

Sunanda is a lovely name and it means someone delightful. Which I am sure your grandma was and that character was absolutely not.

Taking of misplaced names we have a kusum here on the forum who is absolutely adorable, but shares her name with the most hated sc character, kya karain!
