They are already watching many highly illogical things in the high rated serials and support that tracks. For example, in the prevoius week tracks of SSK, the vamp put face mask of one character ( how much illogical than look-like) of it n fooling everybody gained high trp n even beats balika vadhu in that week.
Look like is problem for some Abla fans, not general viwers. They need some story (with logic or illogic with logical way presentation) to intrigued in to show which actually lacks in MB.
I am a regular watcher after VD's entry from last three days and will continue till DVD exist as pair even if it is the worst track as I am some one who never ever skipped even one episode of MB last season n keeping with that episodes in my system and begun to keep all episodes after entry of VD.
But i will say that MB is a hope less show in trp wise which I could not keep even zero optimistic. That is unfortunately a fact which I believe. I have highly scope in RR n BI. In the case of BI, now they do not need to look back than a .1 differences. But MB, I do not have any scope for next week TRP also.
Dince, it doesn't matter who keep raising the father-lookalike point. If this point is raised repeatedly, then it will need to be wiped out.
They need DVD as the pairing - they have already made that evident.
They *don't* need the current Madhu to be the previous couple's daughter.
So if the new pairing's minus point is harped on as the male lead character's looking like the previous male lead character (who was the girl's father), then the easiest way to resolve it will be to declare that the girl is not actually the previous couple's daughter. And so her husband look like the previous male lead who would not be her father.
It will effectively resolve the stated objection, but terminate the angle of Madhu being Rishbala's princess-daughter and heiress to whatever their legacy.
Whether they then instead claim this new pairing as re-incarnations or simply lookalikes is immaterial.
Even Raj's age - its not fitting into the duration since the previous couple' death - won't be a problem.
In a very successful series, after the leap, one of the pairing's male lead was of an age compared to the other characters of his 'generation' that was logically impossible.
His mother had not even met his father until a few years after the birth of several of his 'generation', and yet he was shown as the seniormost.
The mass-audience liked the pairing very much, and so simply ignored the age-illogic.
And mass-audience simply need to love the main pairing together, and to not find the tracks distasteful and/or disinteresting.
Even a minimal track works perfectly fine so long as there are no scenes that will make millions of the largely conservative majority-audience switch channels.
If the mass-audience become certain that every episode and every next day's episode they will be able to watch without finding any scenes contrary to their tastes and sensibilities, they will tune in regardless of whether there is a story or not.
Within the first decade of satellite TV and several channels, writers were already finding themselves short of track-ideas that were both not done previously and would be acceptable to majority-audience, thereby keeping the series successful.
It has now been over 20+ years and dozens of serials on the many existent and some defunct Hindi series channels.
The mass-audience may like the illusion of not knowing what is going to happen next.
But actually, they do a damn sharp guess within the first few episodes - maximum two weeks if the track seems undecided on what ideas to go with.
If they guess - even if they guess wrongly - that the upcoming events and scenes and episodes will not be to their taste, they will skip episodes for days and weeks.
'Interesting' is not necessary for a track to get commensurate amount of enough millions of viewership.
What is crucial is that there should not be anything disinteresting or contravening what the mass-audience are willing to see.
Because if there is, they never give a chance and spend their daily entertainment time watching what contravenes their tastes and sensibilities.
They change the channel to watch what they do like.
